• Operation Christmas Cheer
I bring these gems to you today. All of the pictured items I brought home.

Today for my leisure, I went to a discount food store that is on the outskirts of town.

Lo and behold, to my surprise, I found these beauties:

now granted, these are from last season, but they are still within their Best Buy dates, and I figure by the time these bad boys get eaten up, 2022 Halloween candy will be back on the shelves then, or very very close!!

Huge dose of the feels today, especially when I saw that they had Reese’s Christmas Trees in there as well. It was like being back in the bers there for a minute.

Off to Hobby Lobby!
I can almost taste those peanut butter pumpkins. More than a little jealous.

DAYS TO JOL DAY: 49
DAYS TO THE BERS: 81
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 111
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 141

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

As you can see above, we are now below 50 days to the next JOL Day. 49 days until we are here waiting for Fall Pre Season to arrive. Wow. We'll also see the Bers count break into the 70's this week.

It looks like the horrible hot weather finally comes roaring back last week. I really can't complain. I made it almost halfway through June here before it got horrible bad. And I still count those weeks. Just 4 1/2 weeks now until we reach the annual average hottest day here, which is on / around July 20th. So that means 8 - 9 more weeks before the temps finally have inched back down to where it is noticeable.

We can hang! We've got the AC's thank goodness and thoughts of the Bers to keep us motivated. Seeing all that Halloween candy really got me going yesterday. And the Christmas candy was a huge boost as well, especially as we approach the half-way to Christmas milestone!

Have a great day!

Oh, we can definitely hang, for sure. I'm feeling really energized now. The Summer Solstice is only 9 days away, and I'm still on #HalloweenCandyWatch. I've been popping into CVS more often recently just to keep an eye out for any boxes as they are notorious for putting stuff out early!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! A new week is here and this week will see us arrive to the HALF WAY point in the month! But before we get there, we will see The Bers count break into the 70's, and we will enter into single digits on the way down to the 100 Days to October milestone!

The sweat fest is now here in my neck of the woods. We fought it as far as we could, and getting to almost the halfway point before the heat grew horrible is quite the accomplishment. There is no day this week that is cooler than 87. We will have what appears to be a beautiful weekend and respite from the heat, with Saturday being 77 degrees, and Sunday only 73. That will be the lowest temps for a while. We probably won't see low 70's again until maybe the end of August if we are lucky, but more likely in September. All I can do now is think thoughts of The Bers, and focus on the upcoming "Leon Day"

Which brings me to my topic for this morning:

Do any of you keep out a few Holiday decorations all year long?

We obviously keep up a small Christmas Tree that we decorate for each season / holiday. And our bedroom has a few ceramic Christmas Trees that light up as a night light. We've been working on getting our bedroom to have a 24/7 true Christmas theme. And the past few weeks, we've been thinking of ways that we could have our living room take on a permanent autumn / fall feel. How about you?

Have a great day, friends!

Each Christmas I pick my most favorite card I received that year and display it on my desk all year.

No. We don't keep any decorations up unless it is that particular season. I am ok with that. We do have some sort of seasonal decorations up through the year though. I usually do offseason events via tv or music rather than decorations.

I don't keep anything out year long, but I do break out 1-2 small decorations for our special days (JOL, Tom Turkey, Rudolph). We do decorate our house depending on the season, although we are lagging behind this year; all of our spring stuff is still out and we haven't put up summer decor yet. At this point we might just skip it and put the Fall stuff out early on August 1st.

This year, based on inspiration from MMC, I have kept up a Three Kings Christmas card up above my entry door. I also keep a Peanuts Christmas Countdown calendar up and move it one slot on the 24th and 25th of each month until we get back until December 1st. I do decorate for other seasons and since COVID I have kept up the garland and Christmas lights on my staircase/bannister but add Hearts, Shamrocks, Easter Eggs, Flags, etc... throughout the year. And of course, some years I unintentionally leave things out and keep them out through the next round of decorating, whatever that holiday may be. LOL!

Halloween is only 20 weeks from today. o_O
Next week we'll be in the teens. Let that sink in.

Yes 20 weeks exactly. My “weeks” count to Halloween is on 19 weeks because Halloween this year is on a Monday. So technically that Monday the weeks count would be at Zero / 52. So my count has us “ending” on October 24th with zero weeks remaining, since the week after we would begin with a new updated “weeks to October”, and “weeks to Halloween”. To me, it would not make sense to have a countdown that day to October even though we are still in October for one more day. But Rich’s count is exactly correct.

Halloween 2023 is on a Tuesday, so I don’t think this will happen again for a while.

Wha?! How did this sneak up on me? Are we really in the teens on the weekly Halloween count???
It’s technically 20 weeks to Halloween from today, but see my crazy explanation lol. Basically to me, I ended the “weeks to Halloween count” on October 24th because Halloween falls on a Monday, which means that day it would “technically” be 52 weeks to our next Halloween, as well as having to count down to October again while still being in October for one more day. Next year Halloween is on a Tuesday so we won’t have this issue again for a while.

I did not even realize they were different. I just saw 140 days and did the math from there. Sorry about that my friend.

No apologies needed! :)
I like the idea of ushering in the week of Halloween in 19 weeks AND celebrating Halloween 20 weeks from today! Our good friend @LadyLynn always says it is good to have something to look forward to, so let’s embrace them all!

DAYS TO JOL DAY: 47
DAYS TO THE BERS: 79
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 109
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 139

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today we will have a brief break from the heat, as the high is only supposed to be 79 degrees. Any little bit helps.

It sure feels good to see that "Bers" number down in the 70's today! And now "Days to October" has only 9 days to go before that all-important 100 Day milestone!

I saw the commercials yesterday that SyFy is having a "wizarding world" marathon both days this weekend. I haven't decided on if I will watch yet, although I'm leaning towards it. This weekend is supposed to have cool weather, and the chance of having cool weather, and seeing HP on the TV feels too much like October to pass up. This is a great example of Halloween stuff happening organically, and I think we should all take advantage of those moments when they happen!

We are almost half way through the month now! Soon just one month will seperate us from Fall Pre-season and what I have dubbed "the great cooldown" that usually happens in the final part of August..

Have a great day, friends!
