I have a ceramic ghost called Mr. Boo. He holds candy in his mouth. I would love to keep him out all year long, but my wife vetoed the idea. My kids love Mr. Boo and he has been part of our Halloween traditions for a few years now. I might sneak him out on the next JOL Day and see if I can get away with keeping him out until Halloween.

In other news, our local Target already has their Back to School stuff out! I am amazed as this seems like the earliest they've ever put it out before! I know that the Fall and Halloween items are right around the corner. I've got to make a CVS run this week to check out the candy aisle. #HalloweenCandyWatch

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's the start of a week that has a 3 day Holiday weekend for most of us! I've long talked about how different things seem after July 4th, it's not just a mental thing, it's a physical / appearance thing as well! We should see Halloween candy pop up in the store by the end of this month! And we are probably no more than 3 - 4 weeks from seeing all of the major stores put out Fall merchandise once July 4th is over. "Back to School" will be the next shopping theme, and it's not far away! Hobby Lobby right now is churning out Fall stuff, and making major inroads in clearing off more isles to put out more Christmas stuff. All around it's a pretty special time, right now is like putting all of the ingredients in the big pot and watching / waiting for it to start simmering.

We've got a black ceramic cauldron that looks like a witch's cauldron, we keep candy in it year round, even things like Valentine's, Easter, and Christmas candy, as well as stocking it with Pumpkins and Ghosts during Halloween season. Does anyone else have anything "Halloween-ish" that they keep displayed in their homes all year? I'd love to hear about it. If I'm the only one, that's fine, I can admit to being "weird"!

Have a great day!
This is my philosophy about being weird: If people think you are weird, it gives you great latitude for personal behavior. Plus, you can use the word eccentric and the cauldron is eclectic so then you become interesting and unique +n

I keep up photos of my great-niece and great-nephew in last year's Halloween costumes to keep me in the spirit.

Good Morning Friends, happy Tuesday! It's a beautiful 55 degrees outside, cruising only to a daytime high of 79 degrees. That classifies as "Bers Weather" to me. Yesterday evening sure felt like the Bers, it was in the low 70's, with a beautiful golden sun. I had trimmed some bushes over the weekend, and yesterday evening was cleaning them up. It just FELT like the Bers raking up leaves. It was a quite peaceful 20 minutes or so there. I have to constantly remind myself now that "Fall Preseason" is only 4 weeks away! We'll hit only 30 days to our next JOL Day on Friday, and I've mentioned before that July's JOL Day is a special one because it leads to "Fall Preseason".

Keep Fall & Halloween thoughts in your head today. Have a great day!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Midway through the week now! Heading to the 1st "official" weekend of Summer. We know that it has felt like Summer here for a while now. And we also know that July, when it arrives in a few days, will in many ways be the "last" month that stands in the way before "Fall Preseason" arrives in 4 weeks, and with it, the return of everything we love - Halloween candy in stores, pumpkin spice, Fall decorations at all of your big box stores, the list just seems to go on and on. We will have a "month end review", tomorrow. It's something I've wanted to do for a while on this thread, because I feel like every month has something special to offer and some "bullet points" for us to remember as we take our journey each year.

So happy almost last day of June!

I'm erring on the side of "cautiously optimistic." Disney's sequels/remakes haven't exactly been knocking them out of the park lately. See "Home Sweet Home Alone." Still, that trailer did make me excited to watch it.
I am going to throw my hat in with "cautiously optimistic" but can't deny that I am looking forward to re-visiting the characters.

I really hope it manages to keep the charm of the original. The trailer makes it look like Binx is back, but I don't know how they're going to reconcile that with the end of the original movie.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The last day of the month is here! And with it comes something new that I would like to try and incorporate into this thread. The month-end review. Almost sounds like something we would do at work, ha. If this bombs, it will be a one and done in this thread.

The month of June has reached the end, and I'd like to go back through all of the moments that June brought us, and feel free to add in anything that I missed!

Here's the milestones that we reached / passed this month:

200 days to Christmas
100 days to October
90 days to The Bers
150 days to Halloween
150 days to Thanksgiving

We also rang in HALFWAY to Christmas. All in all, June was the month that we could say "No more Halfways". By the time the month had finished, we were over halfway back to all of the holidays that we love. Did I miss anything? What's your take on June? How did it treat you and are you ready for July? I guess you have to be ready, right?

Have a great day!

June was great. It was hot too. But that's better than being freezing. We went on a beach vacation and worked VBS for a week. Great month. Looking forward to July and another beach vacation.
