I gotta find those Peanuts yard standees soon! I want Linus waiting in my front yard for the Great Pumpkin. At least I'll be able to look for them during my upcoming vacation.
I hope you find them and I hope you post the pictures!

Somehow I have not posted in this thread or followed this thread in the past. Time to fix that!

I really enjoy Halloween a lot and usually get in on the activities pretty early. As a matter of fact, I have a hard time not jumping into Halloween in early August! I try my best to wait until Labor Day weekend, but sometimes I find that I have to listen to some Halloween music in August. Normally it is the rock music stuff that is not really Halloween music, but gets thrown in there anyway.

Most years we get our inside Halloween decorations on Labor Day weekend or the weekend after that. That gives us most of September and all of October to enjoy them. Similar to Christmas when we put things up in early November which gives us 2 months there as well. Our outside Halloween decor normally goes up a couple of weeks later and certainly by the end of September. While not quite as big as our Christmas display, we have quite a bit of stuff to put up. The key piece is the giant Sandworm my wife (art teacher) made a few years ago. It is made from chicken wire and Great Stuff, and then carved. It is in 3 sections, the head, body, and tail. So it looks like it is going into and coming out of the ground.

Anyway, I will start to make this thread a regular visit now. Still amazed that though I have been a member here for several years, I do not remember ever coming to this thread. Wow, just, wow!
Welcome to the party, @Iteachpercussion!

The Halloween Countdown thread is actually relatively new! If memory serves, I think Snake came up with the idea in 2020, and last year was the inaugural year. So 2022 is only the second year that we've had a daily Halloween countdown thread on MMC.

Glad you're here and hope you stop in often (would love to see some pics of that giant sandworm, BTW)!

Welcome aboard! We are always happy to grow the thread!

DAYS TO JOL DAY: 23
DAYS TO THE BERS: 55
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 85
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 115

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday! Just FIVE days remaining now until Edge's absolutely fantastic, amazing 50 DAY PREVIEW TO THE BERS.

Can we really be only 5 days away from that? Can The Bers only be 55 days away?

Indeed it's true. I'm loving seeing all of the pictures start to roll in now of Halloween and Fall merchandise. I'm actually planning on making a Hobby Lobby Run this weekend, and also heading by Lowes as they are claiming online they have some Halloween Merchandise starting to go out pertaining to the upcoming "Hocus Pocus 2".

Maybe I will have some pics of my own to share!

Have a great day!

Good morning all!

Well after a nice sunny, sit outside on the porch kinda day yesterday; today is all rain. It is pouring rain right now and will continue throughout most of the day.

Watching the trailer of Hocus Pocus 2, it looks like it should be good. There is a lot of potential there. I am still surprised it took so long to get a sequel made.

Hello fellow spooks! Man, I'm feeling the pull of Fall and Halloween like nothing else now. It's been a heck of a ride through 2022, but I feel like things are finally falling into place. Can't wait for the 50-Day Preview, the next JOL Day, and especially to see Spirit Halloween signs along the highway.

Have a great weekend!

I don't know if you have a Joann Fabrics near you but they have Hocus Pocus fabric out and last year had quite a few home decor items out. I was there on Weds, and no signs of Halloween/Fall decor yet, but I hope they'll bring it back.

After reading your post, I watched it. Does it seem a littler darker in tone than the first one?

I do! There's a Jo Ann Fabrics about 4 or 5 miles from me! It's a place we "stalk" quite frequently!

DAYS TO JOL DAY: 22

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The second weekend of July is now upon us! TOMORROW, we will be only THREE WEEKS away from Dark Arts Sunday! I'll be watching Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! These annual re-watches never get tiring, I always look forward to them. If I am lucky, my daughter as she grows up will love Harry Potter as much as we do here.

Today I am out early, our company is returning to its annual golf tournament after not having one the past two years because of Covid. I haven't swung a golf club since July 2019! Tee time is at 7:00 !

Have a great day, friends! May you find Halloween and Fall sights in your travels!

I love this! Looks like it's either from The Nightmare Before Christmas or Beetlejuice.
It is the sandworm from Beetlejuice, but the way its made definitely gives a Tim Burton Nightmare Before Christmas vibe. We have a Beetlejuice that we put in the yard now as well. My wife wants to make his headstone from the movie too. You can buy them at the Halloween stores, but she said she would rather make one. I will make sure to take some pictures this Fall.

I love the sandworm and can't wait to see it with Beetlejuice and the headstone. I would definitely have your yard on my "circuit".
