DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 16

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Wish us luck today as we are supposed to be officially discharged from the hospital this morning. The Doctor in charge makes his rounds between 8 - 8:30, so that's when he would give the order, it just takes the hospital a little bit to do all the paperwork and what not.

We only missed them being discharged at the same time by one day, so I think all in all, IF we get out this morning, we were pretty fortunate time-wise.

I look forward to having the plethora of people visit us, as long as they are gone in time for me to "officially" resume "Grazing" on the couch with my little family and watching Halloween movies!

I might try and watch "Halloween Ends" tonight in the comfort of our home. I could have watched it on Holly's Ipad last night, but I'd rather watch it on TV.

Have a great day friends, and wish us luck!
You don't need luck, you and Holly have got this. You are going to do great.

Today is the Great Pumpkin Egg Hunt and I am trying to be positive but for the third year in a row the weather is not putting October's best foot forward. It rained last night, got down into the 20s overnight and it only supposed to hit a high of 55 today. I have done my best not to get my hopes up because last year I was very disappointed so I am hoping that at least the sun will make an appearance.
Fingers crossed for you! Let us know how it goes.

I picked my two big pumpkins this morning and got them all washed off. There are a few smaller ones that I will let stay on the vine to see if they finish turning orange. When the grandkids get come over later today, they will put the vinyl faces on them.

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 15

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We all three got home yesterday at about 12:25 PM! We had been officially discharged since about 8 - 8:30 AM, but the hospital was really slow about processing the paperwork!

We came home and family greeted us, neighbors, etc... We ate our first meal together as a family last night at about 5:00 PM - Holly had wanted pizza the day we got out, for a long time. Pizza was one of the "banned" foods while she was battling gestational diabetes.

We're just going to be relaxing today and trying to enjoy an October Sunday. I've got Harry Potter on tap for later, as well as what ever is on TV.

The unit we stayed in at the hospital was decorated for Halloween! There were those old school cardboard witch decorations hung everywhere! I loved it! And watching Michael Myers in the hospital, while being in the hospital myself was something that I had never done before, and will likely never do again! Have a great day!

Be sure to post a picture when you get them all harvested!

The Great Pumpkin Hunt went well, it was mostly sunny, but windy, but I am not complaining after last year's downpour! The kids found all the eggs quickly but it took quite a bit of time to empty the eggs into treat bags. I had a wider variety of treats this year, fewer sugary ones, and the kids definitely liked the variety. The Snoopy eggs have Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, the Pumpkins mostly have pretzels and M&Ms but some Spider Rings and Bats, the Candy Corns have Gummy Worms in some and plastic witches fingers in others. The Black Eggs have either Cheeseballs or Goldfish in them. For next year, I am going to up the total number of eggs (I already found 72 skeleton eggs at Oriental Trading) and am going to expand the variety of candy and have more with little toys in them, and maybe have some with quarters. I am going to keep making stops at Dollar General and Dollar Tree and pick up any bigger toys and crafts for their take home Treat Bags, and little toys for eggs. @lady Lynn has me thinking of fun things to do the week between Christmas and New Years and if I find enough toys and stickers this year I could have the goal of filling all of the new skeleton eggs with non-perishables to brighten that week and kickstart looking ahead to the Great Pumpkin Hunt 2023

It sounds like it was great. I wish I lived close enough to have come and watched. I bet you had a riot.

We bought a new rug for the back door. As soon as I saw it, I put it in the cart. Had to have it. ;)

I often wish we lived closer so we could share such events and that we all could truly meet up at Tinsel’s Tavern!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 14

WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 2

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Monday! We are now exactly TWO WEEKS away from Halloween!

Time sort of slowed down a bit when we were in the hospital, but it honestly feels like it has grabbed another gear since we have been home. I can't believe just two weeks are all that is left. Let's enjoy them! That's lots of time for Halloween activities!

I look forward to some more walks this week on the Nature trail - all of the trees here are now well in the process of changing, and the leaves are starting to fall. I might only have to mow one more time before settling into "leaf duty" on the lawn mower.

Have a great day, friends!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 13

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Tuesday. One of my activities this week will be getting caught up on "Chucky" Season 2, since I missed last week's episode being in the hospital. And we have another one coming up tomorrow night. I've really enjoyed the show and hope it gets a second season.

I'm going to try and take a walk on the nature trail today. The leaves are really falling here now, and in just a few more weeks they will be blanketed everywhere. We might have one more mowing this weekend, but I think that's it.

I got another set of orange lights for one of my bushes outside! Next year I'm going to try and do even more.

Folks there's a lot of excitement now because we are under two weeks from Halloween, and also basically two weeks out from "Christmas Season", which for me starts on November 1st. Heck, next week my CHRISTMAS TREE comes out of storage on 10/25, as is family tradition in these parts.

Have a great day, friends!
