That Bers count is pervading nearly all of the countdown threads on MMC this month, and it's easy to see why. It's a big deal. Just 11 days to go until we hit a major milestone.

I know it won't happen (there's a zero chance), but I would absolutely love to see Halloween candy somewhere in time for Halfoween. Considering that it's a whole six months early, there is no retailer on earth who will offer that, but should Halfoween get more national recognition, then maybe someday?

I’m trying my best to build Halfoween and Jack O Lantern days up, on my own social media, as well as the “official” JOL day channels, but it’s not taking off quite as much as I hoped. We already have Leon day, and Christmas in July, so maybe one day Halfoween actually becomes a “thing”.

it’s happening slowly I think, because before last year I had never saw T.V networks do halfway to Halloween promotion, but shudder, as well as AMC actually did!

Good Morning and Happy Thursday, Halloween Friends! Finally on the "other side" of the week, and I think it's safe to start actually looking forward to the weekend!

I always for some reason get excited when I see "0's" at the end of our counts. We haven't had any 300's in these counts for a while now, and seeing the 0's just means that a new number range is about to come into play. Tomorrow morning we will wake up and see The Bers count be only NINE days away from the 200 days milestone. That's gonna be a pretty big deal. You won't want to miss the Bers thread that day.

Days to October will also enter into the 230's tomorrow, with our 200 days to October milestone ringing in right around the 1st day of Spring. I think that's pretty cool since as we have mentioned Spring and the early Spring months share a lot of similarities to The Bers.

Only the Days to Halloween count is still holding on strong, with a seemingly massive 20 days to go before it celebrates the next milestone. But stay strong and hopeful, friends, as we will see 250 Days to October before the end of this month!

Have a great day, friends!

Good Morning Halloween Friends and happy Friday!

A couple of snazzy things on the counts:

NINE days away from the 200 Days to The Bers milestone!
Now in the 230's count to October!
Our "stubborn" Days to Halloween count is still holding out - 19 days until a milestone!

But you really want to watch out for the sneaky Halfoween count - It seems like just yesterday that we broke the seal on the 100 day marker!

Have a great day, friends! Happy Friday, and keep Halloween thoughts in your head!

Somehow 209 days until the 'Bers seems much closer than warmer spring weather. Go figure.

Morning Halloween Fans! It's another day in early February. Has anyone ever looked online for Halloween items/sales during this time of year? Just curious what you can find. Have a great day!
My biggest find was about two and a half weeks ago when Michael's got in all their fall stuff that was not delivered last fall and had it all on sale for 90% off. I literally got an overflowing cart full of stuff for just over 40 dollars. Mind you with the weird shortages, they had no shopping bags so I had to take out the cart things unbagged but that was no big deal. It was fun though because I got things I normally would pass on because they were too expensive.

I got a few items at 10% off but I was worried that if I didn't order them they would be gone, so I finally ordered 24 Jack-o-Lantern eggs and 24 Snoopy Easter eggs from Oriental Trading. I also order two Halloween tablecloths, the grab bag of Peanuts Halloween prizes, and the Peanuts Halloween bubbles. it coincided with Free Shipping so I went ahead. I didn't order any of their Valentine offerings, I just didn't like any of them, but hope to hand out some treat bags with some cocoa packets and Little Debbie hearts.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The other day, when it warmed up into the 50's, we still had little piles of snow that had not melted yet, and they started making their own little mini fog areas. It was pretty creeping looking. As the day went on, it got pretty foggy as we got close to the evening. I was immediately put into mind of "Silent Hill"! Heck any foggy day almost makes me think of it!

Today might be my first trip back into Hobby Lobby since well before Christmas. I know that there's no chance what so ever of seeing any Christmas stuff lol, but It would be cool to see any "leftover" Halloween / Fall stuff, just for that quick burst of "The Feels" that I will be sure to get. My new favorite thing to do is look at Halloween / Fall artwork

I will share one that has recently caught my eye - it is on the Halloween subreddit:

Cool Halloween Artwork!

I got instant dose of the feels as soon as I saw it! And on a small side note, I am loving how nice the Halloween community is over there. I have been talking with a few people who are just like us, they love Halloween and Christmas!

Have a great Saturday, friends!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! I've already saw it mentioned but we are just ONE WEEK away now from a MAJOR milestone on MMC - and that is the 200 Days to The Bers milestone! This one is going to be huge. It's almost going to feel like a Holiday in itself.

Nothing really to report on Halloween Milestones, unfortunately. We are nearly in the time of the year that some of us like to refer to as "the winter doldrums". It's when you get into the mid part of February and it seems there are no more milestone days or even special days to break up the monotony. Fortunately for us though, we know there is good stuff coming up, we just have to be patient!

200 Days to The Bers - February 13th
250 Days to Halloween - February 23rd
Tom Turkey Day - February 24th!
Rudolph Day - February 25th
300 Days to Christmas - February 28th

Have a great Sunday, keep Halloween thoughts in your head!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! A new week ahead of us. Last Monday was a lot more fun because it was Jack O Lantern Day #1. This is just a normal Monday, almost, not quite, a winter doldrum Monday.

I check out the counts every morning as you can see, but all eyes really are on the "Days to The Bers" Count, that is now being mentioned in nearly every single countdown thread here on MMC. That's amazing. Also amazing is seeing that "Weeks Count" go down every week. The "Weeks to October" will be in the 20's !! in just a few weeks. That's crazy. I remember when both of the weeks counts were full in the 50's, and It felt like it was going to be forever even to to get to the halfway point.

Today's topic / question - Do you open your door to trick or treaters?

I would If I could, but we live off a country road that has a 55 mph speed limit, so no trick or treaters here. But my Grandma gives out candy every year, and so do my in laws! My in laws live in a neighborhood that had one of those reputation as kids, that they gave out the "full size" candy bars!

Have a great day, friends! Less than a week now until the 200 Days to The Bers milestone! Sorry, I had to say it!!!

Oh man, this is going to make me feel guilty, but no, we don't open our door to trick or treaters. But let me explain why:

Our neighborhood is the hotspot for trick or treating in our town. On Halloween night, cars and trucks flood the streets here, so it's impossible to navigate unless you want to be stuck in line for a long time. People will also just park at the entrance to our neighborhood and walk the streets all night.

This has led to somewhat of a system here: Anyone who wants to hand out candy just sets up a table (or trunk of their car, or large bowl or other candy containment unit) outside in their driveway, and they will stay outside handing out candy all night long. Likewise, if you want trick or treaters to come to your door, you turn on your porch lights. If you leave all of your lights off, it means "No candy here, move along."

Since we take the kids trick or treating early to avoid the madness, Halloween night has become a night of tradition for us in which we will watch Halloween TV specials, eat pizza, and celebrate the arrival of the Christmas season by taking the Christmas decorations out of the attic. So we keep our porch lights turned off.

Once my kids are grown and moved out (something I don't quite like to think about just yet) I will totally be the guy who stays outside and hands candy out.

Today's topic / question - Do you open your door to trick or treaters?
We used to give out candy. 15-20 years ago we would have loads of kids come by the house. 2+ solid hours. Now, none! But the reason is that our neighborhood was built from 1998-2000. Approximately 300+ houses. Four housing additions built at the same time. Lots of families with small children moved in. Now all the children have grown and are out on their own. Just a bunch of old folks now.

We go to our church now and hand out candy during a Trunk-or-Treat event. Very safe and fun time for families.

Well, we DID answer and hand out for many years, but now we have moved to a new place with a 1/3 mile driveway. So I'm going to go out on a limb and guess we'll get approximately zero trick or treaters this year. Or maybe I'll be a sad optimist and sit out with a table of candy on my porch. "Helllo???? anyone?? Free candy!! ..y'know...to anyone...." Oh well, I guess I'll save fortune on candy this year. No I won't. I'll just buy it all for me and eat it all.
