DAYS TO JOL DAY: 56
DAYS TO THE BERS: 88
DAYS TO OCTOBER: 118
DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 148

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The weather these past two days has just been great. If I didn't know where the calendar stood, It could have very easily passed for late September or early October. Our long range forecast continues to be very agreeable and sort of amazing. Still no day higher than 82. Tonight, we will have a little fire in the fire pit, as the evening low is down in the low 50's!

Well folks, the Hobby Lobby is finally in gear. Christmas stuff is finally in the big tubs sitting on the isles, and they have their bare empty racks, foreshadowing where it will all go. The fall section continues to grow. This time of the year, things happening like that, really cements it for me that this is really the time for our "last" bit of waiting before it all changes. We will probably see the first bits of Halloween candy go out in the store by the end of July. Probably by the end of August or a little before (like last year), Lowes and Home Depot will have Halloween decorations. Walmart will probably be around the same schedule.

So like I always say, just buckle up and enjoy the ride back! It should get easier as we go along. Have a great day!

WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 16
WEEKS TO HALLOWEN: 20

Good Morning Halloween Friends! A new week is here as we march towards the mid-point of the month. I was really pumped up seeing the Christmas stuff in Hobby Lobby on Saturday, as well as seeing how much the fall section expanded. And it got me thinking to just how great a place we are in right now. Folks, we are less than a month away now from July 4th weekend. July we will see the stores beginning their "back to school" sales, and then, it's finally "our time". Hopefully Halloween candy out on the shelves by the end of next month. Then Fall pre-season and all of the goodies that brings, Pumpkin Spice returning to Starbucks, etc... It's a couple of more weeks until the major and serious shift that always occurs after July 4th is over...

We're just a few weeks away now from July 4th weekend. Do you see / feel any immediate changes to your mood / attitude as it pertains to thinking about Fall / The Bers after July 4th is over?

I recognize almost immediately that following July 4th, I am in the phase of "summer's last stand", and thinking to myself that by that point, a mere weeks stands in the way of "Fall Preseason" and the slow transformation of houses being decorated for Fall / Halloween, etc. I find myself very content and motivated the last couple of weeks as I know that it won't be a long wait anymore.

Have a great day, friends!

I definitely move into the mindset of "summer's last stand" after July 4th. Because the heat and humidity really kick in here during July it is also when I focus on holiday crafting. Last year I worked on my Charlie Brown Christmas Tree lot, the year before that is was scrolls with Christmas lyrics/sayings, add CIJ to that and July does put me into a Christmassy mood! By the end of July, I switch to back-to-school mode and have to start resisting the urge to decorate for Fall/Harvest, but for a few weeks I feel like one of Santa's elves!

July 13th is when my mood starts changing. Thanks to @Edge612 and his 50 Day Preview of the Bers. That's when it all starts getting real.

I stopped in at Hobby Lobby in Evansville, IN and Fort Wayne, IN last week, and neither had Christmas items nor much Fall out. Very disappointing. I'll be checking our HL tonight.

Oh yes. I touched on this in the Thanksgiving thread somewhat, but the Summer Solstice is a huge turning point for me, mentally. Even though technically it marks the arrival of summer, I know that it's on its way out.

July 4th for me is really just the last "marker" to pass before we plunge headlong into the Fall preseason. You see the July 4th/patriotic merchandise disappear, and in its place is Fall and Halloween. And as @Rich said, we get the 50 Day Preview of the Bers which immediately puts the rest of July into fast forward mode for me.

I usually really start feeling the fall vibe after vacation week which usually is 4th of July week or the week after. This year my vacation week will not be until the last week of July so it will be a little later this year. I can say I am a little excited that my week off is leading into August 1st and the Bers preseason.

I thought you all might like to check out my new Halloween wallpaper:

This is actually the album cover for a rock band called Red. I saw it and immediately felt like it made a good creepy atmospheric Halloween image, so I'm going to switch over to this for my desktop and phone background on the next JOL Day.

I have affectionately dubbed the creature/person/thing as "Mr. Plague Mask." His intimidating presence there along with the blood red leaves looks like something straight out of a horror movie.

My TV has different backgrounds you can choose, and I always put it on the Halloween one for Jack O Lantern Day, and right now it's on the Christmas / Winter Wonderland since this is halfway to Christmas month! This is a nice touch!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Another beautiful "Bers Day" today, a high of only 73, with off and on rain showers. As I was outside last night putting stuff away, the breeze picked up and it was cool, and it just felt so much like September. The temperature from Friday to Monday, is just heavenly, all in the low 70's. But that heat returns late next week. We'll be in the heart of June then. Amazingly somehow we will have had "Bers-like" weather take us this far and it looks like it is going to take us past the half-way point of the month!

Have a great day, keep those Fall thoughts in your head. Enjoy the mild weather if you're having it where you are!

Soooo, if anyone has the Epix drive-in channel, they are doing a horror movie marathon tonight!

Right now “Thinner” is on, followed by The Ring Two, and then Sleepy Hollow!

Guess what I’m doing right now!

I love when these things happen organically! And with this cool “Bers” weather, it could almost be an October evening!

I honestly forgot they made a sequel to The Ring.

Hmmm, I might have to check it out. The Ring was one of the few horror movies that I did watch.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Mid way through the week already and cruising to another weekend. It's too bad it's not an October weekend. Last night sure felt like it could have been one!

Not a milestone day technically, but looking at the counts this morning, We can see that in 3 days from now, we will be at 50 days until our next JOL Day, which also happens to be on the eve of August 1st, so in 3 days it will be 50 days to Fall Preseason!

Also just over two weeks away now until 100 Days to October, that one gets my blood pumping this morning to just imagine.

Have a great day, friends, keep some October thoughts in your head! It seems to be easy as long as this unseasonably cool weather stays around!
