Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Thursday! I could write all day about how happy I am when Thursday arrives. This is always the day I look forward to the most every week. Monday & Tuesdays can be rough, Wednesday is right in the middle and pretty mellow, and Thursday and Friday, they are the most fun out of the entire week. Of course we are looking forward to a 3 day weekend.
It's 52 degrees outside right now, and when I opened up the back door to let the dogs out, I said out loud "Wow, it feels like Fall". These chilly mornings make me happy. And it looks like temp wise we are going to have another "cheater" week, even as the Summer Solstice looms large and in waiting for next week. No complaints here.

Oh YUCK!!!!! I am counting our blessings that it's been mild so far. Days in the upper 70s/low 80s with so far only a couple days in upper 80s. We have not turned on the AC in the house yet this year. Hoping we can hold out a while longer. I am enjoying not having an electric bill right now.
I think I can make your cry: the high today where I live is going to be under 68 degrees. Bers anyone?

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday! I've waited for Friday all week! I've got a 3 day weekend coming up because Monday is a state holiday in Virginia. One of the new perks of my local government job is that I am off work like 16 days a year for all of the state and federal holidays. I never had that before in my old job, I was only off for the big ones (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). So that is going to be fun to be home more for the rest of this year.
Folks - Jack O Lantern Day is in just TWO WEEKS, and as far as counts go, we have only ONE WEEK remaining until these counts are just down to one remaining countdown in triple digits! That's scary! July is starting to peek in, and we know that July is our final month before FALL PRE-SEASON. I am very excited about the upcoming Fall and Halloween Season. Obviously very excited because we keep a thread here 365 days a year about the coming Halloween Season!

Did anyone see Made's post in the Christmas Countdown thread where he found Fall stuff in the dollar spot at Target? That made my day. Makes me optimistic that we'll be seeing Halloween stuff in no time.

I did see it. I have a Dollar General that's only a few miles from home here, I have never usually incorporated them into the "Christmas Hunting / Fall / Halloween Hunting", but this has me inspired. Jo Ann Fabrics is also on my list of things to visit today besides Hobby Lobby. We're getting close!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Day #1 of my 3 day weekend! We're under two weeks to go now until Jack O Lantern Day, the weather is still giving me "October Feels" early in the mornings here, and now we are less than a week to go until hitting the 100 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone.
But something else is in our sights now that I think I have hardly mentioned in this thread, because I think it is discussed more in The Bers thread. And that is the upcoming Summer Solstice. It's 4 days away now. Is there anybody out there (probably not on these kinds of threads) that needed more proof that Fall is well and truly on it's way? Well, next Wednesday is your answer. I've put that day in my sights. It almost feels like the Summer Solstice should have it's own countdown on here, but I feel like we start off the "new" Halloween thread each year with enough counts - 7 to be precise (Days to JOL Day, Days to Spooky Spring, Days to Halfoween, Days to The Bers, Days to Halloween Season, Days to October, Days to Halloween). So does the lineup have room for an EIGTH countdown? That's really a decision for the 2024 thread, but I figured I'd test the waters today.

I think there's always room for another count. I have no quibbles about adding the Summer Solstice next year as it's one that I personally look forward to each year and would be "silent counting" towards anyway. But never fear: Even if you don't add it here, it will live on in the Offseason Thread as a regular offseason count. That's where I'll collect all of the "homeless counts" next year that don't already live in a thread. Easter is a perfect example.
