FALL COUNTDOWN MEME.png

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The Summer Solstice is finally here! We've waited for this day for a long time. Tomorrow is a major turning point even realizing that the days are getting shorter by mere seconds. I always feel like I can notice it the most by the end of July, you are losing minutes per day at that point.

We continue along in our countdowns and notice that we are in a single digits count now heading to Jack O Lantern Day # 5, and have now broken into an 80's count on the way to Halloween Season. Our next milestone day will be on Friday, when we reach 100 DAYS TO OCTOBER. That's right, we will have only ONE count remaining in triple digits when we wake up on Saturday morning.

I'm super amped up today. I might even "cheat" tonight and burn a fall / pumpkin candle to signify where we are now. Today, with the first day of summer here, we can now confidently say "FALL IS THE NEXT SEASON"!

Have a great day, friends!

Good morning all!

Today is bright and sunny and going to be around 80 this afternoon.

While working on things in the garage we decided to get rid of some old Halloween yard headstones. They are the really cheap, small ones. They are hard to see in our yard as people drive by and they are not very sturdy. Since we moved to this house a couple of years ago, I have spent a lot of time chasing them through the yard and trying to attach them to stronger yard spikes. So, we have decided to get rid of those and replace them with bigger sturdier versions. Probably fewer of them, but I think the impact will be greater.

How are yours doing?
Mine are doing pretty good, I have culled each container back to just 2 plants (one container already is down to 1) and I am going wait until the end of the month to whittle each done to one-- I will take the others over to my brother to see if they can make it in the "wild" at his house! The Sugar Pie and the Connecticut Field are looking the best, followed by the Jack o'Lanterns, and the minis and Big Max are not looking great but I am watering them regularly and rooting for them just the same. How is the field across from you looking?

It can be hard to get rid of that sort of stuff but I agree that fewer can have a bigger visual impact-- a lesson I need to remember!

They have four or five leaves and can be seen from the road. I am regretting not planting any in my garden this year. But they take so much space and I wanted to plant other things.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We're standing on the doorstep now to another milestone, that one being the 100 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone that arrives TOMORROW! After tomorrow, there will be only ONE count remaining that has triple digits.

Let's talk about how last night went. It was unseasonably cool because of the rain showers. It hit 54 degrees overnight. As the sun started receding, I lit a few Fall scented candles, just to mark the occasion. Even yesterday leaving work I saw a person wearing a sweat shirt! I was thinking about Fall all day long and now that the Solstice is behind us, the thoughts will be easier. We still have a journey to complete, but like I said in the main Christmas thread, we are full steam ahead now to Autumn!

Have a great day, friends!

Wow! We are on the doorstep of 100 days until October. It will be here before you know it. On Saturday, we will have one final count in the triple digits.

Good morning all!

It is a nice cooler day here in Ohio. Also nice and cloudy with a slight breeze. So, you know what that means.... it feels a little like Fall. And when it feels like Fall, I want it to be Fall. I think I will try to get some Halloween music going today to really accentuate the feeling!

I am happy you are getting some cooler weather, it is so hot and dry here I am watering some of my plants twice a day!

Evening Halloween Fans! Well my first day back to work reminded me how much I really love where I do work. Although it can be a bit crazy but not as crazy as Michael Myers chasing you. Happy Halloween!
My husband always said being truly blessed is having a job you are excited to go to in the morning and having a home you are truly excited to go back to at night!

You know how I said I ordered this: 1687478831994.png

Well it is so darned cute, I had to leave it out in the bedroom for a couple of days before I put it away and since it was so adorable, I just ordered this to go with it:

And I told myself, I didn't need any more Halloween stuff. I guess I need a a new primer on needs vs. wants.

*MILESTONE DAY*
100 days to October.png

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Friday to you!

We have reached another milestone day, and as you can see it is a BIG one, there are now only 100 days remaining until October 1st! We are also just 7 days away from our next JOL Day! We will wake up tomorrow only having one count remaining that is still in triple digits!

But another big thing is going on over in The Bers thread, I won't spoil it for you but it's a big deal - go and check it out now. Folks we are CLOSE to striking distance now on so many things. It is exciting here as we move through the early days of Summer but still have our eye on the upcoming Fall.

Have a great day! TGIF! Think those Halloween thoughts!

Those are both cute and I would do the same and keep them out for a bit to enjoy now!

I like those a lot. Very festive. Now you have me wanting to decorate for Halloween already.

Well, I might have missed the Solstice celebration, but I'm very glad I got to be here for 100 days to October! I feel like this is it -- this is the milestone we've been waiting for in this thread. It's now permissible and normal to talk and think about Halloween (and even start planning for it) without judgement. Not that anyone here on MMC would ever judge us for doing so, but there are a lot of folks still knee deep in summer who probably think I'm crazy for looking for any "Code Orange" sightings at this point in the year.
