Good Morning Halloween Friends! Well folks its Tuesday now, so the week is already going better. Monday surprisingly went by pretty fast. There were some moments that felt long, but overall it moved at a good pace. Hopefully today is the same.

It came up in my memories today that on this day in 2021, I found Halloween Candy at Martin's Grocery Store for the first time. I'm wondering if that will be the case this year. A fresh round of grocery shopping awaits us this weekend so I will be eagle-eyed as I search the isles!

On the counts, we are just a few days out now from breaking into the 50's on the days to Halloween Season, and this Sunday we will see 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. That will be the end of the triple digit counts in this thread until Halloween Night.

Have a great day, friends! Think those Halloween thoughts!

I need to check our CVS and grocery store for some Halloween treats. In am going to buy several bags of the Pumpkin Spice Kit-Kat bars when they come out. They were so yummy last year.

Evening Halloween Fans! Enjoying my week off so far. Heading to a movie this evening. Mostly been doing stuff locally and some down time. The humidity continues here. We had thunderstorms earlier. Happy Halloween!
Enjoy the movie! What is your favorite movie candy?

Good Morning Halloween friends! At long last it is Wednesday, the final "barrier" if you will to weekend vibes and thoughts that are due to arrive later today. If Monday and Tuesday sort of feel like a slog, Wednesday is the day that we start to make up ground.

You can see from our counts above that we are now just a few days away from breaking into both the 50's count on our way to Halloween Season, as well as the 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone that will be here on Sunday.

I missed the Tuesday Halloween Thought yesterday, so today's thread will be special as I give the Halloween thought on Wednesday and not the normal Tuesday.

Folks - Everyone knows what the "Christmas Creep" is. But do you think the "Halloween Creep" exists? Are we really seeing Halloween candy and Halloween items in the stores sooner than we typically do? I think back to 2021 and remember from my FB memories that this week in 2021, Halloween Candy was out at the grocery store. In 2021, America was slowly trying to move post-Covid and get things back to normal and I feel like they may have rushed some of the seasons just a little bit to try and make up for lost sales. But now here we are in 2023 and for the past few weeks we've all reported "Code Orange" sightings at our favorite stores. For most of us, that began the week after July 4th. We see Christmas items out at most stores (not counting Hobby Lobby) by September. So what do you think, is Halloween Creep a real thing? Will we ever see Halloween items one day say towards the end of June?

Have a great day - Big milestones coming up this week still!

Good morning Halloween fans!

Another busy day and Thursday will be busy as well. Just that time of year with football ramping up. But that is ok because more football means Fall is near.

As for the Wednesday thought: I do not really think Halloween Creep is much of thing. In truth I do not think Christmas Creep occurs much or at all. I really have not seen a difference of when items appear in stores in well over a decade. Now if you go back to the early 90s, yeah things were a bit later; but not by too much. I think the average person simply does not pay attention to when items actually appear in stores and so when they first see a holiday item they believe it was "earlier than last year." When in reality, it was likely the same as it has been for years.

From a business standpoint it makes sense to get items out before the "season" begins. However, too early can be bad because people are not yet ready to buy those items. Occasionally a store might try to push an item out early, but if it does not sell at that time, they will not continue the practice. The same can be said for seasonal clothing. Summer clothes hit the stores in early Spring, but are generally gone or harder to find by late summer (mid-summer sometimes).

I tend to agree with this. Funny how those same people who complain about "Halloween creep" or "Christmas creep" are seemingly silent when it's the week after Christmas and the first Spring items are already showing up, or when the summer swimwear randomly appears after Valentine's Day.

Will we one day see Halloween items in June? I have my doubts, but I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility if it inches up into the last week of the month. For me personally, I can only hope that happens. ;)

I would think that a very old “old timer” would say putting your Christmas tree up before Christmas Eve is Christmas creep. As traditions change, so does the definition of Holiday Creep. And so someone’s definition of “creep” may be different than ours. I think Halloween has the biggest opportunity for creep based on the long stretch between it and the last retail money making holiday. Almost four months between July 4th and October 31st. So yeah, I think we could see Halloween creep into June.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! At long last it is finally Thursday, better known as "Mini Friday" in these parts.

Tomorrow we will finally break into a 50's count on our Days to Halloween Season, and also remember that on Sunday we reach a major milestone - just 100 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. The time seems like it is moving quickly again! Next week is the last full month of July, and we give way to Fall Pre-Season in less than two weeks!

Have a great day, friends!

So this isn't specifically Halloween related, but you could say it's Halloween-adjacent, maybe?

Next year my family is taking a trip to Disney World for Christmas. Well, we were discussing how we really didn't care to hit all the parks -- there are really only two that we're interested in visiting while we're there. So we decided that we're going to incorporate a visit to Universal in our plans and visit the Harry Potter Wizarding World while we're there! Unfortunately, the Wizarding World is spread across two of Universal's parks in an attempt to squeeze as much money out of you as possible, so I don't know yet if we'll visit both. But I am glad that we'll get to check out at least part of it!
