Halloween 2023 Countdown!

Ready or not, it's here! Yesterday, to honor the arrival of October 1st, we painted some small pumpkins. It was harder than it sounds and required a couple of coats.

I have been in an autumn mindset since August, but now I can really bask in the Spooky Season. This month will be filled with Harry Potter, Silent Hill, The Great Pumpkin, and whatever other spooky, scary stuff I can find. And those Bers sunsets are going to be sweet!

Day 2 of Spooky Month is upon us. Well it looks like a large amount of Halloween decorations went up this past weekend. There are lots of lights and decorations throughout my general area. It is time to enjoy the heart of Spooky Season now.

Evening Halloween Fans! My 4th annual Halloween Lights show was amazing last night. Definitely the best year yet and we went earlier (7PM) which we enjoyed and want to stick with. Happy Halloween!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 28

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Well, Halloween is all around us now. Go to any store and you get a mixture of "The Big 3". It feels amazing. I always take pictures of places like Lowes, and our mall, because I like looking at those pictures during the "off season".

We might hit 80 degrees today, and If we do, I truly wonder if it will be the "last" 80 degree day we have until next Spring. The warm temperatures feel totally different now with the low humidity. 80 degrees doesn't really feel like 80.

Evening Halloween Fans! Well, our 3rd day of October has been a very warm one again. Once October came we went back to late summer weather. But definitely in the Halloween spirit since my lights show. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! At the mid-week point now and heading to a beautiful, gorgeous October weekend. This is the first full October weekend, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Driving home of an evening now and seeing all the houses with the Halloween lights and decorations up now really hammers home where we are in the year!

Evening Halloween Fans! Another very warm October day. They look to continue for another day or so. Then it will start chilling down to average (and even below average). Will make it feel like real October. Happy Halloween!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 26

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's almost the weekend now. I always say it, but the vibe from Wednesday afternoon - on just gets better and better. Thursday is practically like mini-Friday.

I haven't looked forward to a three day weekend like this in a long time. First of all, Pet Sematary : Bloodlines comes out tomorrow, and even though horror isn't everyone's foray, I'm a big Stephen King fan so anytime something comes out to do with Stephen King, I'm hooked. Secondly, I have never been off for Columbus Day in my entire working career, and even bigger than that, I have never had a three day weekend in OCTOBER that I am aware of, so that's big stuff.

Today is only supposed to be 77 degrees, but these overnight low temps really make it feel like October. I'm personally looking forward to the times that it's officially "hoodie weather". We're not there yet but we will be there by the weekend. That's really my favorite time.

Wow. I just noticed how bare it looks now with that one count left. Time just keeps flying by sadly enough but these next couple weeks is the heart of the season.

I would be interested in watching the pet semetary show but unfortunately I don't think I have that streaming service. I am looking forward to the fall of the house of usher on Netflix which comes out next Friday. It is a limited serious by Mike Flanagan based off the work of Edgar Allen Poe. I am a big fan of Flanagan's work.

The only familiarity I have with any of Stephen King's work is It. And that was the made-for-TV movie, not the newer version released in theaters. I remember as a kid it terrified me (I'm not even sure why my parents let me watch it), but then I rewatched it as an adult and couldn't get over how silly it was. Some parts I laughed out loud at. Special effects just weren't as good 30 years ago, I guess.
