I know all about why Easter falls when it does, and I understand in my head. The rest of me asks: Should Easter ever be in March? I don't think so.

Halloween 2024 Countdown!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Day #2 of being in the Halloween Afterglow. Halloween is on Thursday this coming year. Once Christmas Season / Christmas is behind us - God, I hate to even say those words, I want to start up with our weekly Halloween thought on Thursdays each week. It's exciting to see a full list of countdowns again! And even more exciting that today is sort of a "mini milestone" of sorts, that being that in exactly 90 days, we will be celebrating the first Jack O Lantern Day of 2024!
We all love Fridays in this thread, and tomorrow's reward for reaching Friday will be celebrating the 150 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING milestone!
I took down the inside Halloween decorations last night. It was hard putting away the big pumpkins, but I did it. This weekend I will focus on setting the lights up outside for Christmas. Our big Christmas Tree is up now and lit, and Holly will finish decorating it hopefully by the end of this weekend.

We took most of the inside Halloween decorations down last night. Just a couple of things to take down today. Tomorrow we will likely start putting up the inside Christmas decorations.

I agree. It is so much better when it falls later. It falls past mid month in 2025 at least.
Tomorrow's the day I reluctantly take down my Halloween decorations. I swear, as soon as September rolled in, time went into turbo mode, and Halloween disappeared in the blink of an eye. Now, I can't believe Thanksgiving is just three weeks away. If only the first four months of the year flew by like this!
I miss our Halloween brother @The_Escalation . I haven't seen him online here in about two weeks. I know he was traveling some for work, but I would have thought he would have popped back on at least on Halloween or when we launched the new thread. I hope that he is OK!

My local Kroger had all their candy 70% off and they still had the good stuff. I got a bag of mini-Butterfingers which I will eat symbolically for @Rich.
Not really, so nothing got done today. Hopefully I will start feeling better tomorrow.

That's right! Right here in the main part of the Halloween afterglow, we have already had our first milestone day. I'm not gonna lie, 150 Days is a long way off from now. But here is where the "bonus months", that we are in now, come into play. Christmas is in 52 days from now. When Christmas has ended and we are going through *The Slog*, the Spooky Spring count will be under 100 days. Amazing, no? And everybody knows how time goes when a 100 day seal is broken on something.
This spooky spring count and the count to our first JOL Day of 24' are the two counts that I'm focusing on right now in this very, very early part of our NEW Halloween Countdown thread. And I honestly don't want to focus on them too hard yet because we have all of Christmas Season, Thanksgiving, and of course Christmas itself ahead of us and I don't want to do anything that "cuts into" Christmas time.

I totally agree. It's one of the things that helps me get through the beginning of the slog.
Thanks for the concern, buddy. I truly wanted to be here! Work and life got the better of me for the last few weeks, and truthfully, I've been exhausted. But I'm back!
Halloween in particular was much different this year. My youngest daughter got sick with a stomach bug and wasn't able to go trick-or-treating or enjoy the usual festivities, so in a bizarre turn of events, I actually went "trick-or-treating" myself around our neighborhood collecting candy for her so that she'd have a bounty when she felt better. My oldest daughter came with me in her full costume so that I didn't feel so awkward.
I am feeling the full mixture of emotions right now: joy at the arrival of the Christmas season and the new Halloween thread, and sadness that spooky season is already over and the Bers are zooming by faster than I think they ever have for me in the past. Thankfully my brain hasn't stopped working, trying to think of ways to prolong the season and planning ahead for the 2024 Offseason.
I'm sure that later I'll share stories of some of my exploits during the past 2-3 weeks of my absence. Quite a bit has happened since we last chatted, but right now I'm just happy to be "home," both here on MMC and in the Christmas season. More to come!
My sister still has all their pumpkins sitting outside by the front door. They seem to be holding up quite well so far. I seen on a local group that a lady was asking for any left over pumpkins to feed some of her farm animals. I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving and still thinking about what all we will make for our dinner and our desserts. Will be nice to enjoy it this year with my dad and sister.

Evening Halloween Fans! A long crazy week at work but it is now the weekend. It was fun having all the Halloween stuff this week. Made the week feel extra special. Next year - 4th of July, Halloween and Thanksgiving are all on Thursdays. Kind of interesting. Happy Halloween!
Here we are now in what is left of the "Halloween Afterglow". By the end of this weekend Christmas everything will be all around us!!
