Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's Thursday here, better known as "Mini Friday", and what a Thursday it is to wake up and see that we have reached 150 DAYS TO THE BERS. And just look at our "weeks" counts above. 25 weeks to October? I know that's a ways off, but that seems so different looking than just a week ago.

Spooky Spring rolls on and today we should be treated with downright October weather - Sunny but chilly, reaching a high of only 51. I'm down to the last few bags of Wood Pellets here, which should be enough for about another 10 days of heat as long as we have to run it only at night. The backup oil furnace will go back into service soon if it stays cold as we head into May. May can be downright chilly too, I remember just a few years ago when we still had sleet and freezing rain in early May, and our nights didn't finally get out of the freezing zone until we were almost in mid June!

Spooky Spring, so far, has been about capturing the ambience of October / Halloween and trying to capture some of those "feels". I've watched many of the same horror movies for years, and still enjoy seeing them. And you know who else has a routine? The Simpsons and their annual "Treehouse of Horror" episode. They started the 1st one on October 25th, 1990, and has done one every October since. So that's my Thursday Halloween thought for the day. Do you have any special / tradition thing that you do in October each year?

Have a great day!

I have a ton of October traditions, and I’m always looking to start new ones…lol. I think Fall Festivals are going to be a tradition now that we had so much fun attending one last year.

The one tradition I’ll keep doing until my dying day, though, is watching It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

My Halloween Coffee Mugs! They come out Oct 1st if not earlier LOL. Yup It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is a must watch. My Pumpkin Pie tarts/ candle come out every Oct and get used all the way up to Thanksgiving. Now that we will have more free time during the fall I am sure we find some new traditions.

Can you share some of your October traditions? I have a granddaughter and would like to start some with her.

Our October traditions include decorating the house, inside and out, going to Fall Festivals, and watching It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

We have so many traditions: of course decorating inside and out, the church trunk or treat, a scary food dinner on the Sunday before Halloween, pizza on Halloween, going to at least a couple of fall festivals, special candles, baking Halloween-themed frosted sugar cookies, and of course raking leaves.

Good Morning and Happy Friday! We're finally at the end of the week and heading into the first weekend of Spooky Spring! You can see from the counts above that we are on the other side of the 150 Days to The Bers count, and now have entered single digits on the way down to the big 200 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. I think we should just take a moment this morning and really take in where we are on all of these counts, we are less than two weeks away now from no longer having ANY counts in the 200's. That's right, in 10 days from now, there will be no more 200 level counts until we start the 2025 Halloween Thread.

Can I go ahead and mention something this morning? A count that I don't really mention enough is the "Days to Fall Pre-Season". August arrives and it's still hot for most of the month, and we've got 30 days until the "actual" Bers are home, but let's take a minute to remember how August has all of the grocery stores with pumpkin spice and other fall goods, Hobby Lobby is jammed with Autumn AND Christmas by that point. It is just an exciting time being on the edge of heading into that fourth quarter of the year and all of the wonderful stuff up ahead. And guys, in April, THIS MONTH, we are going to see ourselves only 100 Days away from that. And that makes my heart happy. We fight through the SweatFest to get there, but to imagine in that in a few more weeks all that bliss is only 100 days away? Wow. The Feels.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday! Spooky Spring rolls along!

I hope I am not butting in here but in October of 2020 I was worried that my great-nephew would miss out on trick or treat so I hosted a Great Pumpkin Egg Hunt at my house. I have a very large side lot, about an acre, and I hid black eggs filled with goldfish, cheeseballs, and some candy and hid them. It was fun and could be as easy/hard as you want to make it. if you don't have the outside room for it, I have seen some pretty neat ideas for having a Treasure Hunt inside that leads to a basket of treats, and that can be done for any occasion.

Good Morning Halloween friends! The first full weekend of Spooky Spring! It's going to feel like October out there today as we only get up to a high of about 56 degrees. If there is no wind later this evening, I'm thinking about having another fire in the "Bers Fire Pit" and having some hot apple cider. We had heavy rains Thursday into Friday, so it might be a little too wet today to mow, but mowing will for sure happen tomorrow.

We march right along in our counts today, you can see that we are now only one day out from being a week away from 200 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN. That will be the final time we see a 200 DAY MILESTONE in this thread until we start the 2025 Halloween Thread.

Tonight's movie is "The Shining" ! I hope everyone is enjoying Spooky Spring so far! Have a great day!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Sunday! The second day of the first weekend of Spooky Spring!

These past few days have been cold and at times it's felt more like "Spooky Winter" lol. But today it gets in the 60's, and the next week we have upper 60's and 70's. We may only need heat at night now for a few more days.

My Hobby Lobby trip yesterday yielded no Christmas sightings, but I did see the famous mini straw bales, which were out and had their own full isle, it was pretty exciting. This week I plan on sharing some pictures on here, that hopefully conjures up some memories and feels, as we move towards the halfway point in the month, on our Halfway to Halloween month!

Tomorrow we will mark being only ONE WEEK AWAY from the 200 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone, and I plan on sharing something special for the 200 Day window.

Have a great day, friends!
