Halloween 2025 Countdown!

Last night, we were driving home from McDonalds — we spent the day cleaning out the garage and didn’t feel like cooking. The sunset almost could’ve been a Bers sunset, if I squinted a little. My wife told me to close my eyes and just imagine it was October, but I couldn’t do that since I was driving, so I just pretended. The only difference was that an October sunset would’ve been more vibrant in color; the orange was just a little too muted for it to pass as a Bers sunset. Still, for a few minutes there, I got a shot of the Feels.

Evening Halloween Fans! I hope everyone is well. I had a good day off. Kind of busy but good. Tonight I'm resting. Tomorrow should be a laid-back day off. Then going to see a late afternoon movie. Hope all is well. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Day #3 of the 3 day weekend. Yesterday was crazy windy. There's over 10,000 people without power in town. Some areas had 75 mile an hour wind, with isolated winds of near 100mph south of here. People on social media speculated that a derecho went through early yesterday afternoon. The damage is significant, there are trees down everywhere, power poles, buildings that have had pieces of the roofs and siding torn off. I have not been outside yet this morning to check for any damage because it has been too dark. I'm hoping that everything is okay, and maybe I just have more limbs and branches to clean up.

Looking at the counts, you can see now I'm standing on the doorstep to hitting 100 days to go on Baby #2. I mentioned yesterday that Holly has around 13 weeks to go. While all of us are doing well, we both want this to be over. Holly will start going to the doctor every two weeks when she gets to around 30/32 weeks, so we feel like it will go fast then. That will happen in April, so not terribly far from today.

I haven't seen A "Bers Sunset" now in many weeks. I usually always get one last one at some point in February. One year I had an amazing one in March that made my heart ache. I keep looking every day for them, but so far they have just been "normal" Sunsets, which makes sense that we are so close to Spring now.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The 3 day weekend unfortunately is over, and it's back to work today. The good news is, it should make the week feel a little faster since there's no Monday to worry about.

I hit 100 Days this morning on the Days to Baby #2 count. 100 Days from today will be May 29th, so depending on the schedule for the surgery center, we might already be done by May 29th. I will update that count as soon as we get the 100% confirmed "due date". All we've had so far is the projected one. Holly starts the third trimester next week (!!!) and I imagine when they get to around 30 weeks they will set the date for her.

On our other counts, no real changes to report. Spooky Spring jumps into a 30's count on Friday. We will celebrate 250 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN on Sunday, which is pretty cool because we share that day with Dark Arts Sunday.

It’s looking good! 10 days until JOL Day and 100 days until Baby #2! I wonder if the baby knows that it’s 100 days. Our second child was patient until the day of the C-section, but on that very day she decided she was going to come whether the rest of us were ready or not! I seriously thought my wife would give birth right there in the parking garage of the hospital!

We've now broken the 100 Day seal on Baby #2, and you can see that Spooky Spring will finally be in the 30's beginning on Friday. What a way to start a Friday! Happy Thursday, Halloween friends! Almost time now to start daydreaming about the weekend. That's reserved for late this afternoon. I love the energy shift on Thursday afternoons / evenings as you know that Friday is coming up and you've got another weekend to relax.

Two weeks from today, we are going to hit the 200 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON milestone day. It dawned on me yesterday that before Spring 2025 is officially here, we are going to see the "Days to October" count be in the 100's! Tomorrow we will be one week away from JOL Day #2, and also the Spooky Spring count will at long last break into the 30's. It's going to be exciting.

JOL Day is coming! I need a JOL Day badly.

The more I read about Universal Orlando’s new “Dark Universe” land, the more I think it would be awesome to visit during Halloween Season or on a JOL Day (or Halfoween). I think it would be too scary for my youngest daughter, but my oldest would probably love it.

They’ve been trying to do one for a long time. I remember in the early 2000s there was talk about some of it being shown during Michael’s time in Smith Grove. I remember as a younger man I thought that might be boring, but I loved when Rob Zombie put a big part of his remake at smiths grove with Michael as a kid. So we will see! I’ll be watching

Happy Friday, Halloween Friends! The counts above show us that we're only ONE WEEK away now from JOL Day #2, and Spooky Spring has broken into the 30's count at long last. We'll close out this weekend with Dark Arts Sunday, which also happens to be on the 250 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone, then next week will see us run the "Holiday Gauntlet" again as we have Rudolph Day on Tuesday, Tom Turkey Day on Thursday, and Jack O Lantern Day on Friday!

Today mercifully gets above freezing, and we stay above freezing for the next 7 - 10 days. We're hoping winter rolls out of town this coming week with the forecast. It's been a long and brutal one so far.

Good Morning, Weekend Halloween Friends! Under a week to go now until JOL Day #2, and standing on the doorstep now to the 250 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN milestone!

Tomorrow will be Dark Arts Sunday, and we will break into the 150's count on the way to Fall PreSeason!

Today is supposed to get to about 40 degrees, but all of this week will be more Spring-like with temperatures in the upper 40's and 50's. Work on Spooky Spring continues! Hoping to be all done soon so I can just sit back and relax when "the month of hope" arrives! And we will see it NEXT WEEKEND!
