The time to start thinking about starting/planting this year's pumpkin seeds is here. First, I need to pick up new bags of potting soil, then do some research on how to keep the squash bugs away, and of course be on the look out for the variety of seeds to choose from!

Happy Spooky Spring!

Evening Halloween Fans! Very fall-like type of feel out there today. Chilly (for this time of year), mostly cloudy on and off with a few light showers. A strong gusty breeze out there. Really felt like October/November type of weather. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's a chilly morning- 42 degrees outside right now. There were two days this week that it was supposed to get below freezing at night, but fortunately the forecast has updated and now the only lows are some mid 40's which are very typical for May.

A "silent count" this morning for days until Memorial Day - which now stands at 28 days. Made me think of 28 Days Later. Memorial Day weekend is obviously my next goal to focus on after Halfoween occurs on Wednesday. Memorial Day weekend we will be making final preparations for the hospital, and of course getting ready to open THE ROAD to The Bers! So it's only 26 days to go until the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. WOW.

Tomorrow hits a big 30 days until Baby #2 and I can FINALLY say that we are under a month to go. Time on this one has drug out like a snails pace, especially when I think back to how it went when we were pregnant with Abigale.

SUNDAY, May 4th, we will have another big milestone, that being 150 DAYS TO OCTOBER. Holy Cow. Time marches on, folks.

Spooky Spring continues this evening with maybe my favorite Halloween / Autumn movie ever, "Halloween 4". These opening credits still to this day, I feel are the best ever for setting the tone of a movie taking place during Autumn / Halloween. See for yourself, and have a great day!

Happy Tuesday, Halloween friends! The penultimate day of April is here. This is normally around the time each month we would do a month-end review. Let's look at the counts first and then we will do just that.

The big one is that Halfoween is tomorrow! I'm also exactly 30 days out from heading to the hospital, and 25 days away from Memorial Day weekend which is my next immediate milestone after Halfoween. The Bers lie 125 days away, and 155 days until October!

My April was terrific. One day to go, but impossible to imagine me having a bad day on Halfoween. I'm actually off work 1/2 a day tomorrow so that's kind of a perfect bookend to the month. In being completely honest, Spooky Spring at times felt like it drug, no fault of Spooky Spring itself as I believe it is my anxiety and stress dealing with my upcoming hospital ordeal. I plan on ending the month in style. I was fortunate to get to watch a Halloween TV movie every night, even if I didn't finish them all either from falling asleep or getting interrupted, but the effort was there, and also the weather has cooperated for the most part in recreating some October / Halloween feels. I am overall pleased with how it went for me this year and am already imagining that next year will be much "sweeter" once the stress is in the past.

How was everyone else's Spooky Spring (so far)?

Have a great day!

My Spooky Spring has been great! I've been day dreaming a lot about the front porch decorations and how we could make them better this year. I don't know what yet, but I will do something. Maybe once the decorations come out at Lowes and Home Depot, I'll get some inspiration.

A bad storm moved through yesterday and there are wide spread power outages in the area including me. But on a positive, my battery powered Halloween lights helped with some lighting last night and also provide some Halfoween atmosphere! I am really hoping the power is on by the time I get home from work though.

Happy Halfoween Everyone!

HAPPY HALFOWEEN!

Today is the grand finale of Spooky Spring! I remember thinking back in the early days of January, when winter still had a mighty grip on us, and daydreaming about Spooky Spring. Even in the early days after Christmas, I started missing the holidays again like I always do. And I thought of how October and Halloween are really the gatekeepers of Thanksgiving and Christmas Season. I kept thinking about what it would be like to be in Spooky Spring, and how wonderful it would be after that because not only would we be back in May and getting ready to open THE ROAD, but also by the time we opened the road, our pregnancy journey was getting ready to come to an end and I was going to be so ready to start our "new normal" life - AGAIN!

Tonight I'm closing out Spooky Spring in grand style by burning every Halloween / Fall candle I have, and settling in for one of my favorite Halloween movies of all time, Trick R Treat.

I hope you have all enjoyed Spooky Spring, and I hope you have a wonderful Halfoween today / tonight. We will preview May tomorrow!

Happy Halfoween, all! Back in January this day seemed so incredibly far away. Time flies. Fortunately we're having fun. I've got my Pumking beer, pumpkin Pop-Tarts and box of Boo Berry at the ready. Now I just need a movie to go with them. The aforementioned Trick R Treat will probably do just fine. I think I'll also check out the Peanuts Halloween episode on Apple TV. Have a good day everyone.

Well folks, our Halfoween is winding down here. The electric jack o lantern is about to be unlplugged and I will blow the candles out here in a few more minutes. I am tremendously happy with how Spooky Spring went this year in spite of everything I have going on. Laying on the couch tonight with "Trick R Treat" on, it really truly did feel like Halloween night. And this is a night that I will think about long after this evening is over.

October and Halloween sort of has to live in our hearts when it isn't a milestone day or a JOL Day, which we will begin counting down to again tomorrow!

Thank you everybody for joining me on our Spooky Spring ride this year!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy 1st day of May!

Is "Halfoween Afterglow" a real thing? I sure feel it this morning waking up and knowing the calendar is flipped but still seeing Halloween decorations.

Looks like JOL Day #4 will happen the first day I am in the hospital. There is no rain date, or do-over. JOL Day must go on. I hope in my absence the spirit of JOL Day remains. I haven't yet figured out how, if anything I would do JOL Day in a hospital. When I was in there with Abby in October of 22', it was easy because the hospital was decorated for Halloween, and I even was able to watch Halloween 2 on the TV in the room. That was far out, watching a horror movie that takes place inside a hospital WHILE being in the hospital.

This Sunday we will reach our 150 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone day. Let's go ahead and take a look at milestones across the bord for May:

You can see that's something for everybody in there and not just us Halloween fans!

Enjoy what's left of the Halfoween afterglow and have a great day!

Evening Halloween Fans! I hope you are all doing well. I pre-ordered a Nintendo Switch Bundle after midnight this morning so I stayed up late. Now I feel tired but at least soon I can go home and relax for the evening. Happy Halloween!
The past few days I have been enjoying the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake that shadow dropped on Tuesday. This isn't my picture, but it sure gives off a scary movie vibe, and it made me think of Halloween:

Yep - that's an oblivion gate that randomly spawned in the middle of a cemetery! I hadn't played Elder Scrolls IV in nearly 20 years. It feels good to be back.

These posts made me smile. I haven’t been able to do any gaming in a while, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to resume my favorite hobby over the summer. First, I didn’t preorder the Nintendo Switch 2, mainly because I knew there was no way I could stay up past midnight to get one, but also because I’ve been eyeing the Steam Deck lately and mulling over picking up one of those. Still considering it, but I’ll likely cave and pick up a Switch 2 at some point later on, maybe after the first price drop.

Second, I absolutely loved playing Oblivion on the Xbox 360. I never actually finished it, though — I just enjoyed getting lost in the world, and I got derailed from the main quest so many times. Actually, the same thing happened to me with Skyrim. And Morrowind. I don’t think I’ve ever truly “beat” an Elder Scrolls game.

My only regret now is that I don’t have any of the hardware that the remake dropped on. Another plus for the Steam Deck.
