Happy Sunday Halloween Friends! You can see from the counts above that we are standing on the edge of a MAJOR MILESTONE. Tomorrow marks not only one week until JOL Day #5, but it will also be the last time there are two 100+ level counts in this current thread.

Tomorrow is the 100 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone! Beginning on Tuesday there will only be ONE count that is in excess of 100 days! Pretty exciting and spooky stuff!

The SweatFest is here today - 90+ for the next couple of days. They've actually dialed it down a bit on Tuesday and Wednesday, we were supposed to see 100 degrees but we won't now. Believe it or not I'm a crazy man and actually going running today later as I prepare for the Half Marathon in August, but it is at a park that is heavily wooded, so the temps won't be as bad in the running trail. I'm up to being able to do 4 miles so far of trails, working my way up hopefully to be able to do 8-10 miles by the end of next month, as the half marathon is on August 9th.

Happy Milestone Monday! We are only 100 Days from October 1st! And also just ONE WEEK away from JOL Day #5! We have the merry Trifecta this week, with LEON DAY on Wednesday, Tom Turkey Day on Thursday, And Dark Arts Sunday on, well, Sunday.

You know what might be the greatest change to the counts this morning, just in my opinion? Seeing that Fall Preseason is now only 30+ days away. Think about that and think about where we are and let that really hit home. I think Edge has it right that the heatwave that most of us are under now might make this last bit of time feel like it crawls. Maybe more anticipation that way?

Either way, today is last time in this current thread that we will see the October count at 100 days. Beginning tomorrow, we have only ONE count above 100 days! That's Spooky!

Evening Halloween Fans! I hope you are staying cool. I love summer but this is a bit much for me. Temps into the 90s and feeling like 100+. It definitely makes anyone crave those cool (but mild/nice) autumn days. Happy Halloween!

The only positive thing I have to say about this heat and humidity it that my pumpkin vines are really taking off and seem to be thriving, I will need to thin them out by the weekend at this rate.

Mine are pathetic. The only things that have done well with the weird weather are my lettuces and spinaches and my asparagus. I am still picking and it is over a month since the time it is usually done.

Happy Tuesday, folks! BIG change on the counts above as now we have only ONE remaining count that is above 100 days. I know we still have a long way to go but THE BERS feel close.

Today is kind of a milestone day. 90 days to Spooky Season:



And Fall Pre-Season feels like you can just reach out and touch it, with only 38 days to go. That's just a little bit over a month!

Today is the final day of our heatwave here. It's already 80 degrees outside. It gets to 96 today at around 2:00 PM - that's the hottest part of the day and then the temperature starts falling down and the rest of the week is "normal" for this time of the year. I'm excited for next week because we get back to "just" 80's, which is much more managable.

Even in a land where it is perpetually autumn and Halloween, we have to give credit to the most grand Halloween and Season of them all!

Folks, we have now reached ALL of the halfways to our major holidays in 2025. Let that sink in for a minute.

A week from today will mark only 30 days to Fall Pre-Season. I can't stress enough how much will "feel different" a week from now, much less a month from now when we finally open that door back to Fall Pre-Season. I know I'm ready for it NOW. But we still have a little while to go. We've got this though. We're on the downhill slide now.

It really is amazintg to think that we have reached all of the halfways of 2025! The heat and humidity are making me long for Fall a bit sooner than normal-- it usually doesn't hit me until after the 4th of July-- but being closer to Christmas 2025 than Christmas 2024 is awesome!
