Happy Thursday, Folks! Today is like my Friday because I'm off work tomorrow for the antique tractor & steam engine show.
BIG Changes in the counts this morning. We can see that we're only ONE WEEK away from JOL Day #6, the very final JOL Day that is in the Non Bers / Fall Preseason year. Fall Preseason itself lies barely over a week away!
Also today? We've started a "Thirty Something" count until THE BERS, and there are now no more triple digit counts in this thread. We won't see triple digit counts again until the NEW 2026 Halloween thread goes live on Halloween night.

Happy Friday Pumpkin People! I'm off with my Dad now to head down to Clarke County (About 20 minutes away) for the antique steam engine and tractor show! It's going to be way too hot for my Grandma to attend, so we are going to show her pictures of the setup. The tractor was my grandfather's and he bought it brand new in 1971. It mowed almost 2 acres of grass weekly until 2022 when it was largely "retired".
You can see the big change on the count this morning is that we are now just ONE WEEK away from FALL PRESEASON. This time next week the "off-season" officially ends!

Happy Saturday, Halloween Friends! I'm back from the tractor show. Dad and I had a great time. I wasn't there 15 minutes and I bought a 1965 Cub 100 - it runs and drives and even mows, just needs some new back tires and some wiring cleaned up. We had a great time and we are talking about going back next year and Dad bringing even more of his antique stuff to display.
We move along in our counts here on the VERY FINAL weekend of July. Jack O Lantern Day #6 is only 5 days away, and FALL PRESEASON lies just 6 days away. We're solidly in the "50's" to Halloween Season, and our biggest counts remaining are 67 Days to October, and 97 Days to Halloween.
I can't stress enough that in the next several weeks we are going to lose two counts for good. When The Bers gets here, the counts will solely feature Halloween Season, October, and Days to Halloween. We won't see all the counts come back until the new 2026 Halloween countdown thread goes up on Halloween night!

Another crazy hot day, storms expected this evening.
But, this heat just means we are getting closer to August. With Christmas in July behind me now, it is on to all things Halloween. I really enjoy the buildup to Halloween. Adding Halloween music and movies throughout the month is a lot of fun and when September hits it is 100% go time.
Yesterday my wife went to Fairborn, OH to a famous local Halloween store, Foy's. There are actually two store fronts in downtown Fairborn. One is all costumes and the other is a mix of novelty items and costumes. While there she picked up some additional Halloween decorations. Knowing that I am a big fan of Halloween III, she picked up the 3 masks from the movie. These are not the full rubber masks, but are hard plastic wall hangings. I am really excited to put them up this year!
More about Fairborn; Wright Patterson Air Force Base is by Fairborn too. But the downtown goes all-out for Halloween. They have a Fall Festival during a weekend in October as well as a nightly Halloween Fest. The whole area is decorated and many of the nearby houses decorate big as well. It is a lot of fun to see.

The All-Season Tree has been changed. My wife took off all of the patriotic decorations and immediately started putting the Beetlejuice decorations on it. Still needs a topper, which my wife said she wants to make.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The very final Sunday of July and the very final Sunday of my offseason year is here. We are 4 days away from JOL Day #6, and just 5 days from the start of FALL PRESEASON. Our next official milestone will be in one week when we celebrate 50 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN SEASON.
Folks, I've gotta be honest - It is hard for me to focus on anything other than the beginning of FALL PRESEASON. Sometimes it gets hard to focus on the counts when you've been looking forward to one thing for so long.
The only other thing I can kind of compare it to is when we are in that dead spot either on the very last week of December, or deep in the winter doldrums when you are just so focused on the next upcoming thing. I feel a lot of the same feelings right now as I did then. But it's exciting! You can feel it coming. Looks like we might have one more mini heatwave this week, a few days are supposed to hit 90, and then the temps fall off a cliff right as we hit Fall Pre-Season. Would be amazing if they stay that way.

July brought us another special Holiday in July 4th weekend, which for most people ended up being a 3 day weekend. We started the "FINAL 50" on The Bers, and with that began the "50 day preview of The Bers", which is still ongoing. We also hit our very final 100 day milestone in this current thread, which was 100 Days to Halloween.
Tomorrow we will have our August preview, which is going to be pretty short and sweet, and of course we close out July and the "offseason year" with Jack O Lantern Day #2!
