Happy Milestone Day!

Still dealing with the heat and humidity. But as I look at next week we should be about 10 degrees cooler!
Hoping to see the temperatures continue to drop through the rest of August. But I know that we will likely have at least one more big warmup, usually right at the start of September.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We are at the mid-week finally. I woke up and am pretty sure that I have seen my first "Bers Sunrise" even though we have about 2.5 weeks to go until the actual bers are here.

We saw the second to last "final fifty" yesterday. Only one more time in this current thread will we have a 50 day milestone! That's kind of Spooky to think about!

Good morning Halloween Fans!

We got some rain and storms last night and it is a bit cooler today. High will only be in the low 80s. It is just a one day cool down but I will take it.

As others have pointed out, the Halloween candy is certainly making an appearance at the stores. Pretty much every store I have been in recently has it!

I am hoping to some inside Halloween decorating done here soon. We usually do not start until Labor Day weekend, but I am just really feeling Halloween right now!

I woke up and am pretty sure that I have seen my first "Bers Sunrise" even though we have about 2.5 weeks to go until the actual bers are here.

We’re nearly in “Bers Sunset” territory, too. I’d say we’re 90% of the way there. Last night when I was driving home I noticed that the sky was taking on those familiar orange and purple hues even more strongly now. Not quite “prime time” yet, but not much longer either.

Good Morning Halloween Friends and Pumpkin People! It's Thursday, better known in these parts as "Mini Friday"! We are almost at the end of another week of Fall Preseason! You can see on the counts above that we have now broken into the 30's on the Days to Halloween Season count!

I'm trying to keep the counts to October and Days to Halloween out ahead as far as I can, but I feel like here in another few weeks, that will feel like a losing battle. Wouldn't it be nice if we could somehow stay in September forever? I honestly don't think I would ever get tired of it, but you never know, it might end up being like the movie "Groundhog Day" where at first it is cool, but after years you want a change.

I wouldn’t mind if September was, say, 60 days instead of 30, but I don’t think I’d want to linger there for too long. We’d miss out on all of the other wonderful things about the Bers (including Halloween)!

Maybe if all of the Ber months were 60 days…

Good Morning Pumpkin People! It's another Friday, thank goodness! We made it to the end of the week. The Bers are less than 3 weeks away, that just doesn't seem to be possible!

The heat and humidity has returned here for a few days, we get to 87 today and the weekend is warm, but then the temps nose-dive after Sunday - no day gets warmer than 78 degrees. There are basically showers off and on every day next week, that will cool things down.

Still hoping to start hauling wood pellets, I haven't seen them out at Home Depot yet, but it shouldn't be much longer. This time last year I was already buying them. A staple of Fall!

It's gonna be a warm one today, reaching 87 degrees. The temps after tomorrow go off a cliff again, as no day next week reaches 80 degrees!

We're soon off to go get groceries, and then I'll take the trash to the dump.

I'm expecting to see lots of Halloween candy and merch in the store, here being just shy of two weeks until THE BERS!

Happy Sunday, Halloween friends! Today marks exactly TWO WEEKS until the final JOL Day of the Non-Bers year. We will have one more JOL Day in September and then we are done until January of 2026, having safely arrived back in "Spooky Season".

Our next milestone will obviously be in 15 days when we return HOME to THE BERS. I can't believe it is that close. At times the summer felt like it moved quickly, but then it also had moments where it drug. Last week was one of those weeks.

We're going to try to endure what looks like it could be the final / one of the final "scorcher" days here of this summer. 90 degrees today and high humidity. The temps this evening and starting tomorrow drop off a cliff, and no day over the next 10 days hits 80 degrees!
