DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 30

And then there was.....ONE?

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We made it. We are finally back in October. OUR MONTH. In Spooky Spring back in April, we dreamed of how it would feel being back in October, since April is the mirror image of October.

And now its here. So my wish to everyone reading this thread is just the same thing I say all the time, and I think Edge does too - Enjoy every single day. Because October is going to move along. There's nothing to be sad about. When October ends we are dropped right in Christmas Season and Thanksgiving. Nothing to feel "sad" about until the very end of December. Nothing but all good times ahead, my pumpkin people.

Celebrate being back in October!

Maybe they just don't call it "31 days of Halloween" anymore. I'm going to do some digging. Thanks for sharing the movies! SyFy and AMC are my main "go to channels" during October!
I noticed Saturday will be a dud. It looks like they're having a Twilight Zone marathon. Sunday is back to the scary stuff.

I'm always slightly "sad" each year when the very last JOL Day is completed. Which doesn't make sense really because the whole "goal" of JOL Days was to make us not miss Halloween and Fall so much when we began our long journey from January to August/September.

And now we are here in prime Spooky Time, October. So nothing to be sad about there. We can all rest assured how much the very first JOL Day in January will hit us right in the feels just when we need it!

DAYS TO HALLOWEEN: 29

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We are here in "prime" Spooky time. Houses are starting to light up for Halloween. I see decorations everywhere. It looks like the weather has finally turned down to that classic Autumn "cool" and not Summer 2.0 or even the early September "warmer" weather. I'm looking forward to sweater weather soon. Maybe even doing a bonfire on Friday night, since the lows here now are reliably getting in the lower 50's, upper 40's.

And really looking forward to some more Halloween movie "Grazing". Last night was great on the Michael Myers marathon on AMC. I've said it a million times, but I don't think there is any movie that you can "feel" Halloween harder in than when you watch the original Halloween, Halloween II, or Halloween IV. And actually watching them in October is just icing on the cake!

Have a great day!

The condo next to me has spooky decorations. The man who owns it is in his upper 80s. He decorates for every holiday and is very young looking for his age. Yesterday he left his shades opened and I could see in and his whole condo is decorated for Fall. It looks so nice. He keeps a very clean, organized place.

Our Social Committee is decorating the common areas this weekend. It will be mostly Halloween with some generic Fall thrown in. After Halloween, the Thanksgiving decor will go up. Christmas is big here. We have an 18 foot tree in the lobby and a 12 foot one in the social room with outdoor and indoor lights and decorations.

I have always felt particularly blessed that my birthday is October 17. Not only is it in October, but it's exactly two weeks before Halloween. Oh! the costume birthday parties my parents had for me! With Halloween decorations and Halloween party plates and cups, and more! I loved the decorations more than the cake and the gifts, and I still do. My church even had a Halloween party back then for the kids, usually the night before Halloween. I will be 64 this year, and Halloween was a different thing back then. No Freddy or Jason, and really no devils or ghosts either. We bobbed for apples, and tied marshmallows to strings and then tried to pull them up to our mouths using only our lips. We had a costume parade around the large social hall, and EVERYONE got a prize. Then there were the homemade cupcakes, and lots of candy, and punch. It was a great time to be alive! If I tell you that most of my many Halloween decorations are vintage, from my Mom and others I have found online that remind me of my childhood, I am sure you will understand.

I am the last person left in my family now, but I still put up all my indoor Halloween decorations every year (that's what Labor Day weekend is for, am I right?), and enjoy "dinner in a pumpkin" on my birthday and on Halloween. My big ol' dog helps me out with the dinners, of course. And I still enjoy all of September and October immensely. Of course, November and December are great too, But I am just an Autumn Girl at heart.

Sorry for the short novel here, I just really wanted to share. Have a great month, all you Halloween Lovers!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. It's a new day here on Thursday. I fell this morning when running. I look like I'm ready for Halloween someone told me. Bruised under my eye. Couldn't hide it. The other bruises on my arm/leg and twisted ankle should improve pretty quickly. Happy Halloween!

All my Halloween is up inside and out except for this life-size goblin. It is stored on a shelf in the garage and I can't get it down by myself without dropping it so my son will be over on Saturday and get it down and up for me.
