Good Morning Pumpkin People! I'm up bright and early because this morning is the Battlefield Half Marathon / 10k over at the 3rd Battle of Winchester park.

I wanted to do this event again ever since last year, but I wasn't sure where we would be, how we would be, etc., after our 2nd time around to the hospital. I was fortunate that it has been "life as usual", and I have been able to train. I feel like this year might be the best I've trained for an event, so it gives me hope that at almost 41, I can still improve on things.

Our next milestone will be on Tuesday when we begin the FINAL FIFTY until October!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope your weekend is going well so far. We have a beautiful day here. Temperatures in the 80s with sunshine. That sun still feels summer hot (and it should since it's summer) but the humidity isn't bad today. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning, Halloween Friends! The heat returns today with reaching a high of 85. We knew it was just a matter of time, but the heat is "weak" compared to earlier in the summer. You can feel the difference in the early mornings and especially at night / overnight. Probably by this time next month we will have nights that will be borderline chilly. And I can't wait!

Surprisingly, I have no aches and pains of any kind after running the 10k trail race yesterday. I sat a PR for that course and it gives me hope that with things "back to normal" at home, I can do even better next year. We have one more race through parks and rec this year, in October, and then that's it for the 2025 season.

You can see on the counts above that we are now just three weeks away from JOL Day #7, the JOL Day that is special because it happens on the eve of The Bers. It still feels surreal every time we can casually mention "Three weeks until THE BERS".

Our next milestone will be on Tuesday when we begin the "FINAL FIFTY" to October. Have a great day!

Good morning, Halloween Fans!

Heading out to do some running around and shopping today. I am hoping to find plenty of Fall and Halloween items out there.

Looks like another hot week before we get a little cooler. As we head into mid-August, these types of temperatures are to be expected; but cooler times are headed our way soon.

Might I suggest "Theme of Laura", the OG Silent Hill Theme, or "Fermata in Mystic Air"?

I originally did have “Theme of Laura” in there, but I ended up bumping it to the very end of my September playlist (“The Bers Begin”). The vibe of that song is kind of mysterious, kind of adventurous, but just a little too upbeat to have in the Halloween playlist, so I figured it would serve as a fine transition for the end of September moving into October as we head into Spooky Season.

Happy Monday, Folks! And Happy Milestone Eve! As you can see on the counts above, tomorrow we begin the FINAL FIFTY towards October!

Some of the heat returns this week, but still no day hits 90 degrees. It seems short-lived, and next week we look to be back down to mild temperatures again.

And it feels amazing to say that TODAY, we are only THREE WEEKS away from being back HOME in The Bers!

Oh yeah, I feel that. Truth be told we are putting out more stuff this weekend, and probably by the time we ring in The Bers, we will have our "Halloween lights" on the bushes. I have never had a season where I "flipped the switch" on September 1st just like I do November 1st, but maybe this is the year.

Happy Milestone Day, Pumpkin People! Today starts the "FINAL FIFTY" towards October 1st! Believe it or not, this is the second to last final fifty that we will ever do here in this 2025 thread. The only one remaining after today will be the Final Fifty to Halloween, which will be in about one month from now.

The heat and some of the humidity has returned now, but it doesn't last long, as by Sunday here we are already back down into the upper 70's and low 80's. I'm still holding out hope that by the time we get back to September, it's reliably cool weather.
