Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Monday!
25 Days from today is Halloween. Still over three weeks of Spooky Time left, no worries here.
When I was out on my run yesterday afternoon, it made me happy to see so many more houses decorated up in the neighborhood! I'm going to have to plan to do a few evening runs so I can see all the houses with their Halloween lights! One house's garage door even is covered with the head of pennywise the clown!
Hope you guys all have a great Monday and we all start off another great October week!

I think it hit 80 degrees here earlier this afternoon. At this point I feel like any time you get near 80 degrees you get that "summer" feel. We went to the Virginia State Arboretum today (just 15 minutes from my house) and it unmistakably felt like Summer. My main purpose was to check out the "Ginkgo Grove", which should be turning completely golden here in the next few weeks. We saw a few Ginkgo's that already had a leaf or two that was golden!
Over dramatic I know, but the Ginkgo Grove was one of the places I wondered if I would see again when we headed into the great unknown regarding pregnancy #2. Glad to be here/there and can't wait to go back in a few weeks to see the transformation!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Tuesday! Monday is in the rear view mirror now, and we are heading towards another beautiful October weekend! I think most people will have a 3 day weekend, which makes the build up to this weekend extra special!
It's going to get close to 80 today, and then this evening it cools down as rain moves in. We might get a half inch or more between this afternoon and overnight. Cool weather and rainy / dreary evenings always feel like October. And it should, because we are IN October.

We are all decorated for Halloween, outside anyway. Still working on the inside fall stuff. We are in friendly competition with our neighbors across the street. We are on a short dead end street so its just our 2 houses on the street. The other night while we were outside showing our grandson everything a car with a family came slowly down the street and then turned around going slowly back up the street with the kids faces plastered to the windows.
Oh no! Sounds like you got pretty roughed up. I hope you are back at it soon.

Happy Hump Day, Pumpkin People! Our lone count above tells us that we have only 23 days to Halloween! It cooled off yesterday and we had a gentle rain fall all night, we really needed it. Those cool evenings and rain showers kind of really feel like a Halloween night!
Today reaches only a high of 69 and there are some more showers in the forecast.
Have a great Wednesday! We've nearly made it back to another beautiful October weekend, with the bonus being that it's a 3 day weekend I think for most people!

Hello Halloween Fans! It's another well not as nice day today. We had some showers this morning. We have more clouds than sun currently but it's not bad. And the temperature has dropped off to 59 so it feels like autumn. I think it's time to finally take out my jacket. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Temps nose-dived yesterday evening. It's only 40 degrees outside, and only reaching a high today of 63 degrees. Tonight into tomorrow morning we have our first chance for FROST as it is supposed to get down to only 35 degrees. We might end up having to turn on the pellet stove tonight if it truly gets that cold.
We're just one hair over three weeks from HALLOWEEN! My wish for all of us is that October goes nice and slow!

Hello all! Checking in after unexpected issues got in the way of my fall enjoyment. Fortunately my outlook is looking better and I can salvage the next few weeks of October, sans stress. Much (much!) cooler here. Currently 35 degrees and the days are much more fall-like. I think a bonfire will be in order for Saturday. House is full decorated, especially my basement where my friend will be joining me Sunday for pumpkin and Octoberfest beers while watching old 80s Halloween commercials on my Trinitron. I hope everyone is having a great season. It's astounding how quickly it goes, especially considering I start my celebrating in August. Happy scary season, everyone!
Hello Halloween Fans! I hope your day is going well. We have 55 degrees with sunny skies this afternoon. Yes, not 85 or 75 (or even 65). We have a real autumn feel out there. It still feels nice though with the sun but I took out my jacket today. Happy Halloween!

It's worth mentioning that I will probably start work on preparing the *new* 2026 Halloween thread probably the last week of this month. I don't want to take too much time or energy away from "actual" October / Halloween time, but the thought crossed my mind randomly yesterday that I would have to do it soon. Crazy how that works!

Under three weeks to go now until Halloween! It's going to be a rainy weekend here, as we get what's left of the Nor'easter. Hope everyone in the actual path stays safe.
No mowing this weekend because of the rain, but crazy enough next weekend looks to be really warm, close to 80 degrees, so I wonder if that might be the "last" true mowing of the season before it turns over to leaf mulching.
