Good Morning Pumpkin People! There's frost on our pumpkins this morning as it is only 3 degrees outside. That's not a typo. It was supposed to get below zero, but now with the sun coming up, I don't think it will have gotten there. I looked at the updated weather, and apparently there are now no more overnights that go negative. That is good.

We will see both the end of January this week and also JOL Day #1. I can say in all honesty that my January moved at times even with speed, but overall a fair and steady pace. Last week started feeling "long" before the anticipation of the snow started making it move again. Now that we are already at Tuesday, I think "the worst" of January is over and I am really looking forward to February. We will be looking at the month of hope in no time!

3 days out from being 90 DAYS TO HALFOWEEN!

Have a great day, friends!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! We are still slowly crawling through the big freeze here. January weather is holding on, and I think someone said we are getting close to setting a record with the number of days below freezing. It looks like Sunday we "finally" go back to normal temperatures for this time of the year, and we have a run of days taking us well into February that stays in the upper 30's and 40's. I'm hoping groundhog or not, we get a break for a while from this brutal horrible cold.

Folks, January is just about done. But before it is, we get to celebrate JOL Day #1 on the very last day of the month. And while not milestones "technically", we will see 90 DAYS TO HALFOWEEN on Friday, and on Sunday we will finally break into a 50's count towards Spooky Spring!

Tomorrow, as per tradition, we will have our January month-end review/discussion, and Friday will be our February preview. Have a great day!

I'm going to count tomorrow as a mini-milestone day (with there being 275 days until Halloween). Then there's the Halfoween milestone the next day, and JOL Day after that. Lots to look forward to this week!
A Quarter Milestone. I love it!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Another cold one out there - 3 degrees. We finally, mercifully, get out of the brutal cold this weekend. This kind of cold has even been scary as I have worried about freezing pipes, cars not starting, etc.. We are blessed though back here, our crawl space has never gotten below 47/48 degrees, and our well house has a heater in it that runs on a thermostat.

Today we continue our crawl through January and we can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. We are two days away from JOL Day #1, and we break into a 50's count towards Spooky Spring on Sunday. Overall, life is good right now and it is only 50 DAYS TO SPRING!!!

Today I want to review our January 2026! I can proudly say that January treated me "fair", and moved at a decent pace for the first 3 1/2 weeks. Only last week did time start to truly feel like it was dragging. But after the 1st Rudolph Day of 2026 was in the books, it's like January finally let loose its grasp. And it also felt like we were crushing Halloween / Fall milestones every other week. I'm looking forward to February. I have all the faith in the world that time will move "easy" again and we will be seeing the "Month of Hope" in no time.

How did your January go? Let us know today!

January was decent, although it really started dragging by the end. I’m glad we’ll be in a new month next week. Still, I can’t say that January was bad — I was able to make it through the month with no PCBs AND I didn’t even have to break out my “Post-Christmas Blues” playlist this year! That’s a first for me!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well on this frigid day. But I think that's kind of normal here lately. The sun is out which is nice and the wind is calm (for now) so that's not so bad. That sun is getting slowly stronger each day believe it or not. Happy Halloween!

I agree. The last week has felt the same amount of time as the first 3 weeks, but February is on the horizon and I will be glad leave January behind.
