Happy Sunday Morning Halloween Friends!

Look it's milestone eve AGAIN. I love how it feels like we are constantly hitting milestones here in mid March. Tomorrow we are indeed going to hit 200 DAYS TO OCTOBER. That is really wild to me even still, and will be even wilder on Tuesday morning when we see that our only remaining count still in the 200's (!!!) is going to be DAYS TO HALLOWEEN.

I have said it many times but the Days to October count, and the "Days to Halloween Count" I want to keep out ahead of us as long as possible. Nobody including myself wants to get to October too fast. Because in order to get to October we have had to already go through September, and I think most of us agree that September really feels like the ultimate "Sweet Spot" of the entire year.

Confession time, folks - we have been busy with painting and fixing up / cleaning up our house, and I haven't done much planning for Spooky Spring. I absolutely am not going to let this get away from me. I'm hoping to kick off my own Spooky Spring kickoff weekend beginning 3/28-3/29, which I will talk about more in the coming days. I am going to use the next week, specifically my evenings when the kids go to sleep to hammer out my film schedule and other activities I want to try and do here for Spooky Spring 2026.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Definitely not as time intensive as painting but I got my furnace and a/c replaced, added a whole house humidifier and an air purifier and then got a "free" duct cleaning and there are a lot of spaces that need to be swept, mopped, and put back together. It is making me feel motivated to dive into Spring Cleaning. I think I am going to focus on that and Easter through April 6th and then I am going to be ready to focus on Spooky Spring, especially on the weekends. I want to bake something special every Saturday in April, pumpkin bread is definitely on the list, and maybe a pumpkin roll, even though I know it will crack, and some homemade caramel corn? What are some of your favorite Halloween worthy baked goods?

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well on this Sunday. The Sunday Group is going to my uncle's to celebrate my sister's birthday. We always celebrate each birthday in the group with a party of food, games and cake. Happy Halloween!

I'm a simpleton. The only thing I like are the cookies that look like witch hats - a peanut butter cookie, with the hershey kiss on top to make the peak of the witches hat. Icing around the base to make the band / buckle!

Pumpkin bread is one of my all-time favorite things. Not just for Halloween, but for the entire Fall.

And even though they aren’t baked, for some reason I tend to gravitate towards Rice Krispies Treats during that time of year as well.

Under two weeks now until Spooky Spring! I am so ready. I’m going to kick it off the weekend before with a viewing of Corpse Bride, which is a movie I’ve never seen before! I think it’s time seeing as how it’s at least 20 years old now, maybe older.

Both excellent suggestions!

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. It's a rainy Monday here. Not a nice day and I always say I wish the sun was out on Mondays. It helps you get into your groove better to start a new week than rain. Happy Halloween!

200 days to October 1st.jpg

Good Morning Halloween Friends!

It is indeed Milestone Monday, friends! Today marks exactly 200 DAYS TO OCTOBER 1st!

This is a count that I have been kind of apprehensive about for the past couple of weeks, it still seems wild to me here in mid-March now that beginning tomorrow, there will be only ONE count remaining in the 200's.

Wild weather today, all schools are closed and county governments. Supposed to be Tornados, but everything looks to be well east of us, all we may get is the thunderstorms.

I hope everyone stays safe out there! Happy Milestone Monday!

EDIT: I have been trying to post this since 7:30 this morning. I'm having off and on internet problems here.

I had the day off due to blizzard conditions and I am so grateful I was able to stay in and off the road. The winds are supposed to decrease overnight but the temps are supposed to too, down into the single digits. It will be back in the high 50s by Thursday, 60s on Friday, and a chance of 70 on Saturday. I am hoping to see some green in my grass soon!

Good Morning Pumpkin People! The count is here live to let us know that there is now only ONE countdown still north of 200 days. Read it again. I had to. It just doesn't seem possible.

And we are exactly TWO WEEKS from Jack O Lantern Day #3, which is also doubling as Spooky Spring Eve. I mentioned a few days ago that Spooky Spring 2026 Kickoff Weekend was going to happen beginning 3/28. That's a done deal. I have the next two weeks to finish up my movie schedule and everything else.

I hope you are all well on this Tuesday! The storms here ended up mercifully being duds. We had strong rain for like 15 minutes yesterday morning, and last night it got a little windy before it started sleeting and snowing. It's calm out there right now, but cold. Only 27 degrees, and not getting much above freezing today!

Have a great day!

While Nancy and I visited with her dad yesterday, there was a football game on. It was a replay of an October 2024 game between Chicago and Washington. I'm not really a football fan, but as they showed player stats, they had cartoon images of ghosts flying across the screen, and animated players doing the Thriller dance.

It gave me a nice Halloween feels!

We hit a low of -6 this morning and the roads were very icy even with a 2 hour delay, I don't ever remember a St. Patrick's Day like this but that just goes to show that every year likes to send us some curve balls!

Well, it took a lot of willpower, but I will make it to April with an abundance of Fall/Halloween treats. I have 3 bags of Milano Pumpkin Spice cookies, 85% of a bag of assorted chocolate Jack O'Lanterns, and a large handful of candy corn. I am going to enjoy Spooky Spring very much!!!

Good Morning Pumpkin People! Happy Wednesday! Finally the middle of the week! We can see from our counts above that we are now just TWO WEEKS from the start of Spooky Spring. Let's hope the weather here straightens out so it doesn't become "Spooky Winter", because that's what it feels like lol. It's 16 degrees outside. Winter is hanging on. It gets back in the 70's all weekend long lol.

Progress is slow and steady on me finishing up what is left of my Spooky Spring movie lineup. I hope to have that ready and able to share with the group this weekend, since NEXT weekend will obviously be Spooky Spring kick-off weekend.

I hope everyone has a great day! Let's think those Halloween thoughts today and even daydream some about Spooky Spring, it's right around the corner.

ha! I also have a stash building up. I'll have to post a pic. I'm saving mine for Halfoween week, I think. It's been tough hanging onto my Not So Scary Mickey Coffee.
