Me too! I actually started watching because Carrie Underwood was going to be performing with Rascal Flatts and I love them so much so I tuned in to see them. Then my husband and I started watching the auditions (probably my favorite part of AI) and he said why don't we just watch it til the end? I figured it would drive me nuts if I didn't so we started watching it. I'm not as hooked on it as some people are but, it's good and I'm looking forward to seeing the auditions! It's the one bright spot about January being that Christmas is over and I will be in my post Christmas slump.
I think DC could be interesting to watch -- only because he appeals so much more to us old people.

I use to wish I could be on American Idol, but they never come anywhere near where I live. ALthough if they ever do i want to go audition.

An annual post-Christmas tradition here on MMC is our ongoing group evaluation of American Idol -- and we invite all to join us! Looks like lots of changes are in store for Season #8, so we'll have plenty to chortle about in the months ahead as we countdown to Christmas 2009. The new season begins shortly after the New Year.

Only because I like you Jeff, I will TRY to watch AI. So far most of the winners have faced some scandal or other.
this is purely a diversion to help pass the time to Christmas. We spend a lot of time being, uh, critical, of who we see on AI and frequently our discussions wander (see last year's thread for example). Really we're just having fun.
LOL I know that. I just find it funny that Paula is just now really speaking out about how badly things are being run.
I'll pop in! I've watched it for years. The group I worked with used to schedule 15 minute meetings after every singing night to vote on who would get voted off. We had a division reorg and we don't all work together anymore,
