DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 65
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 42

Happy September Tuesday! Today folks we have 65 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 42 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be Thursday. I’m sorry did I say that in a singular tense? I meant milestones. There we go. We will reach both the official Arrival Of Autumn and also Tom Turkey Day #10. Talk about quite a double header. I’m looking forward to both of them as I know you all are as well. I’m sure you are at least. And we look ahead folks trying to enjoy today one step at a time. But definitely it’s an awesome time knowing that our season officially will be here in just a couple of days. That’s unreal. Winter, Spring, Summer all have great things about them but Autumn has the best and that includes November and Thanksgiving. Need I say more really? I don’t think so. Now for all you turkey fans out there I hope you’re enjoying your week so far. It’s still early in the week so pace yourself. Don’t push it too fast. And you’ll get the most out of The Bers which we’re in right now as we continue in this thread in our Awesome Autumn. A great and special time of year for sure. If you see a turkey around wave to it. It might be already anticipating the season ahead as autumn approaches us this week. Keep your eyes open for any other Thanksgiving news as well today and all week long. Have a great September Tuesday!

Wild turkeys occupy the woods and field behind our house. I've seen them several times this summer, and they always surprise me at how big they actually are. I've gotten pretty close to them before they run off. Kind of amazing how calm they seem!

Awesome Autumn continues, and Tom Turkey day will be here in just two days! Gobble Gobble!

Oh my Turkey fans, look at those numbers Edge posted!
We're halfway thru the 60s now. Whoa!

When the Toms fan out their tail feathers to their full spray they look huge. They will occasionally cross through the fields surrounding my house and I can see them from quite a distance when they are putting on a show! I certainly wouldn't want to encounter one up close and personal, unless they are already cooked! HA!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 64
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 41

Happy Farewell To Summer! Today folks we have 64 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 41 days left until November. Our next milestones will be tomorrow. We will reach the official Arrival Of Autumn and Tom Turkey Day #10. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our final weekly poll of summer (officially). Let’s look at it below!

When is the first time you seriously think about Thanksgiving coming?

  • Black Friday (as soon as Thanksgiving ends)
  • Summer Time (it helps keep me cool)
  • Labor Day Weekend (it starts the road to Thanksgiving)
  • November 1 (when we’re officially in the month of Thanksgiving)
  • I’m going with C. Now I could answer all 4 of these on different levels but I truly feel that Labor Day Weekend is when our long autumn road begins to Thanksgiving. That’s why I’m choosing it. But to be honest, you all know the moment Thanksgiving ends I’m on here posting the new thread so obviously A is a legitimate answer for me. It’s just so crazy far away at that point it’s hard to seriously think of it coming that early. What’s your choice turkey fans? Let us know here in this thread. Have a great Farewell To Summer!

My answer is "C"! Technically I start thinking about Thanksgiving as early as the first Jack O Lantern Day in January, since to me, Halloween and Thanksgiving are both part of the Fall and both go together so well. But it is really Labor Day weekend that the yearning for all things "Bers" is at the maximum fever pitch. And it's a great time. Anytime we have a cooler than normal Summer day, those thoughts are in my head. And during "Spooky Spring", I constantly was thinking about Thanksgiving.

So long Summer, see you next year!

I can not give a specific date for this answer but my answer is based on the fall season. I need to have regular cooler temperatures and the leaves changing/dropping that starts to get me to more regularly think about Thanksgiving.

I'm not sure why but that is how it is for me. It is like an alarm clock. I do not have that issue with Halloween or Christmas. I have actually thought since we hit September that my Thanksgiving vibes were non existent.

Those two goals are just about there so Thanksgiving will be on my mind very soon. If i have to give a date it looks to be by October 1st. The big temperature drop tomorrow may be enough to do it.

My answer this year is B. I started thinking and planning in August. I went out and got most of my ingredients for my annual Week of Thanksgiving Cookie Bake. Now I keep looking for a good turkey when we go to the grocery. I'm picking that up early again this year.

My answer is "B," I think? I start thinking about Thanksgiving as soon as we hit Memorial Day, or the Road Back to the Bers, and that falls in the summer. That's usually also when I start looking seriously for any Macy's parade news.
I saw some fall stuff out around July 4th... instead of wanting fireworks the kids wanted fake pumpkins!

I think I am going to have to say A, because on the day after Thanksgiving, when I take down the Thanksgiving decorations, I think about what I need or want for next year, what I might cook differently, what went well or what didn't. Yup gotta be Black Friday.
