DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 44
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 21

Happy Spooky October! Today folks we have 44 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 21 days to go until November. Our next milestone is going to be our Home Stretch Till November and it will be in 11 days. Right now though I’m trying to just enjoy my Tuesday. And although Tuesdays aren’t anything overly special in this thread maybe they can become it? I’ve got some ideas to make Tuesdays more fun. Maybe Thanksgiving picture day or another idea you may have. I’m open to suggestions even if it’s for next year’s thread. We’ve been ok this year with keeping Tuesday pretty easy and not with anything too special. Although, in this thread let’s be real every single day is special to us. And the count now folks is getting more serious by the day. And soon it will be by the hour. We have to prepare ourselves as we move closer into the middle of the month of October. There is nowhere else to go from here but forward. Monday was a good day and I hope Tuesday will be the same for all of you. And I hope you all get to enjoy the fun of the holiday season when it arrives as well especially all the turkey, stuffing and gravy (and CW’s cranberry sauce). Now for all you turkey fans enjoy your Tuesday will you? I know that I will try to do the same thing and I hope all of you will as well. Have a great day for sure and watch out for any turkeys around this time of year. Have a great Spooky October!
Just 3 weeks to go now until November is here! I say it on here a lot, but sometimes honestly I am just amazed at where the time goes!

Sometimes I really think that counting down and chasing the milestones can be just as exciting as the day itself! Chasing all of the holidays, I used to just "celebrate" on the actual special days (Tom Turkey Day, Rudolph Day), but one thing I started doing this year was doing just a little splash of something on a milestone day. It really helped! I think I'll keep doing that as we go forward!
I totally agree. The older I get, the more I enjoy the build up to anything. That is one of the reasons I enjoy the countdowns so much.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 43
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 20

Happy Dozen Days Of October! Today folks we have 43 days to go until Thanksgiving and 20 days remaining until November. Our next milestone is in 10 days. It will be the Home Stretch Till November. I think all of us will take that in a heartbeat but also we don’t want the heart to beat so fast as it seems to have been doing thus far in The Bers hasn’t it? It’s Wednesday folks and here is the staple we’ve kept all thread long and that is our Weekly Wednesday Poll!

When is the time it “hits” you how close we are to Thanksgiving?
  • September 1
  • October 1
  • November 1
  • The Weekend Before Thanksgiving
  • My answer is C – November 1. B is interesting but I focus so much on Halloween I don’t let it hit me for Thanksgiving. A is too early because I’m still feeling summer. D is too late to realize it. I go with C. That’s when I normally feel it’s getting close. What about you? Let us know your answer as we continue through our Awesome Autumn here in this thread. Turkey fans enjoy the middle of the week. And keep thinking turkey thought (and Thursday we know what our new thing is now). Have a great Dozen Days Of October!

I'm going to go with "C" on this one. I start thinking about Thanksgiving big time really as soon as labor day is in the books, but October is "spooky season" and my thoughts center around that. But when that clock strikes November 1st, knowing that it is officially "Christmas Season" - that's when turkey thoughts hit the brain! And they are going to be coming up soon! Have a great day!

I will go with C but that actually crossed my mind yesterday. Thanksgiving is right around the bend.

With the talk about a Thanksgiving playlist the other day in here, I decided to start one yesterday. I figured it would be great backround music when everyone is over on Thanksgiving day.

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that my Thanksgiving vibe was non existent at that time. Well the weather cooled down and leaves started to change and it was like the flick of a switch. It has really be on my mind lately. I am definitely enjoying Halloween season but Thanksgiving planning season is in full force too. I just love this time of the year!

Looking for 2 Butterballs today here. I have yet to find Eggnog..its getting ridiculous.
I think you need to move west. Not only are there two or three kinds of eggnog on the shelves, including in Halloween packaging, but for the first time ever, last week when I went to the store, there was eggnog made with almond milk.
