DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 35
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 12

Happy Thrilling Thursday! Today folks we have 35 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 12 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be the day after tomorrow when we reach the Home Stretch Till November. WOW. But right now folks I’m looking and seeing those counts looking really good. We continue in our Awesome Autumn. Thanks for those of you who answered our poll. But today is Thursday and our new thing that has caught on is “Thanksgiving Thought Thursday.” We’re going to continue it right through Thanksgiving and maybe beyond it seems like. This week’s thought is below!

I love having a plate full of Thanksgiving food. I notice some people like to take a little at a time. But something about having your plate full and if you can control yourself to eat slow makes you feel like Thanksgiving will last forever. That’s how I feel at least and that’s how I fill my Thanksgiving plate.

Feel free to comment on that and how you fill your plate. Are you a nibbler? Normally I am. I just like for the biggest meal of the year to have a full plate that I know will take me a long time to eat. Keep it real turkey fans with 5 weeks (that’s one full hand) to go until Thanksgiving. Have a great Thrilling Thursday!
Okay, not gonna lie here. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, Hungry Hungry Hippo comes out. Even though I fill the plate, I eat pretty fast. And I think it's mainly because I am excited. Excited to be around a huge table, seeing delicious food everywhere. And being there with family. And guys in just a little over a month, we are going to be doing it. I can't believe I am even writing that this morning.

I had to do a double take just now and make sure that I didn't miss Tom Turkey Day. Thank goodness I didn't! Have a great day!

I'm a plate filler. I wouldn't say that I gobble my food, but I wouldn't call it nibbling either. But I will eat everything on my plate and then will usually get seconds. Then comes the regret and the tryptophan-induced sleepiness...

By the way, I got my Tom last night. He's chilling in my freezer waiting for the big day.

That is great that you have him already.....we have no turkeys out yet except turkey breasts.

Thanksgiving is going to interesting this year. I tend to eat very fast although i have been working on it.

I have lost 50 lbs over the last year and have gotten most of my bad eating habits/diet under control with no weight gain back. My goal over the holidays is to enjoy the food but not over due it. I am just shooting to hold my weight over the holidays and continue losing more weight after the new year. Slow and steady has worked really well for me this time around.

So this year I am going to try not to over fill my plate.

Good luck to you! Make it happen!

In days past I ran around so much that I actually lost weight during the holidays. I was always very thin and muscular so I didn't like losing weight. Even though I ate a lot, I still had to drink extra protein shakes, as snacks, to hold my weight.

These days, not so much. I'm average weight, I eat healthy, but I'll indulge over the holidays.

Michelle had tried many diets in the past with no lasting results. It wasn’t until she changed her eating lifestyle that the weight came off and didn’t return. I’m so very happy that you have made the changes in your life to get the results you desire. Keep it going my friend, you got this!!!

Congrats on your weight loss!!

I like a full plate. A very full plate. I usually have a hard time finishing it. But I get it done. Then let the suffering begin. Then a few hours later, bring on the pie!
My father loved sweets but he didn't like having the sweet taste as the last thing he ate. He would eat the meal, then have pie, then have a little more meat. He always loved sharp cheddar cheese with his apple pie but the rest of us preferred vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Irish, congratulations, what a wonderful accomplishment. And it sounds like you have a realistic goal maintenance that will allow you to still enjoy good food.

This is going to sound weird because I really do like Thanksgiving food, but by the time I have fixed dinner, I am often in a place where I am not that hungry. I snack a little while I am preparing the food but just a taste to make sure something is seasoned right. Now when it is time for leftovers, I am definitely hungry.

I make prime rib for Thanksgiving. The size of the roast is based on the number of people attending dinner so there is rarely any leftover to over indulge. Besides the normal cookies, etc, for dessert I make a cheesecake with a raspberry sauce.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 34
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 11

Happy Old School October! Today folks we have 34 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 11 days left until November. Our next milestone will be tomorrow. You want to be here for it. It will be the “Home Stretch” Till November. Can you believe that? I can. We’ve been hyping it all week haven’t we? We move along through our Awesome Autumn and into Friday now this week. Another long week definitely but that’s good. Now we can look forward to Friday and then our weekend. I have a Haunted Hayride tonight (my 2nd year in a row). Last year we saw Michael Myers and others while we were going through the graveyard. Very interesting for sure. Looking forward to it. What if I see a turkey? Should I be afraid of it or it afraid of me? That is the true question. Maybe Fridays will be our free days from now on. Nothing too special and then into the weekend. Monday – Thursday looks like we have something now each week. If you ever have any ideas of additions to the thread, of course, make them. I’m testing out the next month a few other ideas myself you may see soon. But for now folks keep those turkey thoughts in your heads and in your hearts. We all have them in there for sure 24/7/365 and in this thread. Have a great Old School October!

Since I am home alone recovering, for lunch, I'm having a Marie Calendars Turkey and stuffing with mashed potatoes frozen meal and watching the 2016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It's a mini-Thanksgiving! :D
