I'm not a big seafood guy, which I know is weird for someone who lives on the Gulf Coast. I do like fish, and I'll eat crab occasionally, but anything else like shrimp, oysters, calamari? Nope. How about a lobster mac n cheese or shrimp n cheese?
I agree with this comparison for the most part. I definitely don't think July 4th is as exciting as Thanksgiving, but then what holiday is?DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 343
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 321
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 260
Happy Mid-December! Today we move ahead into Thursday and see we have 343 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 321 days left until November, and 260 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestones will be back to back ones which will happen in 6 days when we reach the Arrival Of Winter followed by in 7 days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #1. Our Happy Holidays portion of this thread are looking great here in the heart of December and today’s Thanksgiving Thought kind of reflects on this time of year.
The one holiday that might compare best with Thanksgiving is the 4th of July. Why? 4th of July is the peak of the summer to many people. It’s the day the whole summer revolves around. Thanksgiving is the peak of autumn and the one day the whole autumn revolves around. Also the build is similar too. Not a lot of “activities” revolving around either one and both 2 of the best days of the year.
Some of you might agree with the comparison and others might not. It’s hard to compare Thanksgiving to anything else. To me it’s the opposite of Christmas, in a way since it’s on the opposite end of the season of it. And it’s linked from Halloween, in a way, but very different from it. No matter what we all love Thanksgiving and really nothing, when it comes right down to it can ever beat it in our minds, hearts, and souls. Have a great Mid-December!
Rainy night here!Happy Thursday everyone! Waiting on this storm to pass over us and dump us full of snow.
Turkey countdown!
Well whatever didn't work this year you can improve on next year! With Christmas quickly approaching and now that I am starting to feel better, I am beginning to really feel bad about how much of my normal Thanksgiving experience I missed. I did not get to attend my extended family's Thanksgiving Dinner (Sunday before) and I did not do any of the typical activities during Thanksgiving Week. I know that in the moment I was grateful to be doing less and enjoyed "simple", but I am now feeling a bit sad about it.
I know you are right, it is a great chance to reevaluate and maybe change things up a bit, just a bit!Well whatever didn't work this year you can improve on next year!
Thanksgiving always makes me happy...and as we approach Christmas Week which is the only week you can say can compete with Thanksgiving week I think I'm seeing why I prefer the week of Thanksgiving...less stress/work/running around...oh and sickness lol.Is it weird to be in the middle of the Christmas season and see the "319 days until November" count and then being very excited about being so close to the 300-day milestone? I know we've got a long way to go, but the thought of next Thanksgiving still makes me happy.
