How about a lobster mac n cheese or shrimp n cheese?
I'm not a big seafood guy, which I know is weird for someone who lives on the Gulf Coast. I do like fish, and I'll eat crab occasionally, but anything else like shrimp, oysters, calamari? Nope.

As if that wasn't bad enough, my wife is allergic to shellfish. Like...deathly allergic. She has to bring an EpiPen with her anytime we go to a restaurant in the off chance that they might have cooked shellfish along with the other food there.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 343
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 321
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 260

Happy Mid-December! Today we move ahead into Thursday and see we have 343 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 321 days left until November, and 260 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestones will be back to back ones which will happen in 6 days when we reach the Arrival Of Winter followed by in 7 days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #1. Our Happy Holidays portion of this thread are looking great here in the heart of December and today’s Thanksgiving Thought kind of reflects on this time of year.

The one holiday that might compare best with Thanksgiving is the 4th of July. Why? 4th of July is the peak of the summer to many people. It’s the day the whole summer revolves around. Thanksgiving is the peak of autumn and the one day the whole autumn revolves around. Also the build is similar too. Not a lot of “activities” revolving around either one and both 2 of the best days of the year.

Some of you might agree with the comparison and others might not. It’s hard to compare Thanksgiving to anything else. To me it’s the opposite of Christmas, in a way since it’s on the opposite end of the season of it. And it’s linked from Halloween, in a way, but very different from it. No matter what we all love Thanksgiving and really nothing, when it comes right down to it can ever beat it in our minds, hearts, and souls. Have a great Mid-December!
I agree with this comparison for the most part. I definitely don't think July 4th is as exciting as Thanksgiving, but then what holiday is?

I was all ready to compare Thanksgiving to Easter, but truthfully Easter has more in common with Christmas than it does with Thanksgiving.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 342
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 320
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 259

Happy Middle Day Of December! Today folks we have 342 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 320 days left until November and 259 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestones will happen next week on Wednesday (Arrival Of Winter) and Thursday (Tom Turkey Day #1). And it will be big seeing back to back milestones on those 2 days. Definitely looking forward to them. We move along in our Happy Holidays part of this thread very happily. Moving here into Friday gets us safely to our weekly 3-day weekend here in this thread with our big 4 weekly features behind us for this week. Time to rest, enjoy and think about turkeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Really. Do I ever not think about turkey? It’s hard not to. I mean really. What is better than turkey, stuffing and gravy? Not much if you ask me. No matter what your plans are for today and this weekend I hope you have an opportunity to enjoy them and get ready for the big holiday coming up not this weekend of course but next weekend. This whole season has been awesome but it’s hard to believe we’re getting a little closer to Christmas. My goodness. If you are a fan of Thanksgiving like we all are here just remember it brought us to all this goodness (or should I say greatness) that we have experienced here recently in the month of December. Keep it real turkey fans and enjoy your Friday. Have a great Middle Day Of December!

So I do not know for sure, but I am really hoping that we get to have Turkey for Christmas Dinner. Because I too have thought of turkey lots, and if we don't have it on Christmas, then it is a pretty long way until we have one at Easter. Now keep in mind, we will probably have the little turkey breasts for Rudolph Day in January, but even that is not the same as putting the bird in the oven. So here is hoping that I get it at least once next Sunday!

Have a great day!

With Christmas quickly approaching and now that I am starting to feel better, I am beginning to really feel bad about how much of my normal Thanksgiving experience I missed. I did not get to attend my extended family's Thanksgiving Dinner (Sunday before) and I did not do any of the typical activities during Thanksgiving Week. I know that in the moment I was grateful to be doing less and enjoyed "simple", but I am now feeling a bit sad about it.

Well whatever didn't work this year you can improve on next year!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 341
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 319
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 258

Happy 2nd Half Of December! Today folks we look at our 3 counts and have 341 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 319 days left until November and 258 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestones will be next week folks. They will be back to back ones on Wednesday (Arrival Of Winter) and Thursday (Tom Turkey Day #1). I know all of you are looking forward to it as much as I am. And that’s a great thing we all can do as we move ahead here deeper into our Happy Holidays segment of this thread. Absolutely awesome. This thread is awesome and all of you are awesome for being here at a time of year when WE really are responsible for being in the holiday season. When I say WE I mean us Thanksgiving Fanatics. That is the day that started all of what you have right now. And nobody else is thinking about Thanksgiving right now outside of this thread (and many will not think about it again until November 1). They are over 300 + days behind us then. I’m glad here we are way more prepared than they are. Of course right now we’re in a position where we would like to freeze time. Next weekend is Christmas weekend folks and that is just hard to really imagine but somehow it is true. And yet here we are ready for it all. Getting ready for the best that we can. And as I sit down for Christmas Eve dinner I hope to reflect on Thanksgiving dinner which was tremendous and the link that brought us to where we are now. Have a great 2nd Half Of December!

When i'm out and about today doing my errands, I have to go by Martins to get my free spiral ham. I love doing it, it is one of my holiday routines and I always feel so happy bringing it home. Ham and Turkey, I think I could live the rest of my life on those two things!

Have a great Saturday!

Is it weird to be in the middle of the Christmas season and see the "319 days until November" count and then being very excited about being so close to the 300-day milestone? I know we've got a long way to go, but the thought of next Thanksgiving still makes me happy.

Tom Turkey Day #1 is just around the corner on the calendar. And on that day we will be one month beyond our glorious and delicious holiday. But with Christmas on our heels, I haven't had time to miss Thanksgiving. Yet. Now come January, it will be a different story. Until then everything will be merry and bright.

Thanksgiving always makes me happy...and as we approach Christmas Week which is the only week you can say can compete with Thanksgiving week I think I'm seeing why I prefer the week of Thanksgiving...less stress/work/running around...oh and sickness lol.
