DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 314
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 292
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 231

Happy January Teens! Today folks we have 314 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 292 days left until November, and 231 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone(s) will be in less than 2 weeks when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2 followed by the extremely important 300-Day window till Thanksgiving. I was thinking the other day how I’m glad we’re still in the 300s to Thanksgiving. I don’t think I’m ready to be lower than that (at least not yet). And we move along in our Winter Wonderland with our weekly quiet 3-day weekend in this thread. We take a break from all of the special daily things we do and enjoy 3 days of relaxing in this thread. I had a ham last week and I have to say it was better than I thought (maybe because I never eat it). But I kept thinking is this really as good as turkey? Can I imagine having this on Thanksgiving? I don’t know. Turkey is still #1 to me. And it will always be for Thanksgiving of course. Thanksgiving without turkey is like football without a quarterback. It is the essential meal on that day. Now for all you turkey fans who are going through your Friday and doing your winter thing you keep doing it. And keep realizing how awesome it is this time of year to know everything on the calendar we love is truly in front of us again. And that is a great feeling that I cherish about January. Have a great January Teens!

The countdowns really do feel different when they are up in the 300's. We still have about two weeks of that in here before there are no more 300's. It's totally a different feeling then. It is nice having the whole year and all of its excitement up ahead of us. That being said, January sort of is feeling like it's going slow, and I always feel a lot, lot better when we are at the end of January and we can really start having serious thoughts about Spring and not so much of a "wishing", but just more of a peaceful waiting for Spring knowing that it's not so much far off.

But yeah, we have a little bit of a chunk still remaining. Not quite at the halfway point in the month yet. But the half-way point of January is kind of a game changer I think!

Have a great Friday!

These past two weeks have really flown for me, which I'm happy about. But I think things will really speed up once that Groundhog shows up.

Less than three weeks until your favorite groundhog shows up!

On that note, we had both a turkey and a ham for Thanksgiving this year. I am usually not a ham fan, but I gotta say this year's was delicious. Even the leftovers reheated well. Truly surprising and made me realize that if you find the right ham that it's not so bad after all.

We do ham too...it was really good!

I really like ham, but I think it is all in how it is prepared. I just bought half a side of pork (it is not here yet), but I am especially excited about the custom cured hams--of course I can't eat that much pork, but by the time, I divide it with my kids, it will be just the right amount.

Oh I most certainly love me a bbq pork belly!!

That groundhog is a born liar!!..lol
The groundhog in the picture never lies. That is General Beauregard Lee. The most accurate groundhog in the USA. He may be mistaken but he never lies. ;) LOL. The groundhog in your area must be very unreliable. That or you live way north of the equator. Southern groundhogs seem to be more accurate. I hope you get an early Spring if that's what you favor. I know I sure do.

My favorite weather forecast (who has been doing it for almost 40 years) always says anything outside of 5-7 days is just pure speculation not a forecast.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 313
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 291
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 230

Happy January Weekend! Today folks we have 313 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 291 days left until November, and 230 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestones will be not this weekend and not next week either so no need to worry about them. But they will be back to back milestones as in 12 days we’ll reach Tom Turkey Day #2 and the next day we’ll reach our 300-day Marker Till Thanksgiving. That always seems to be the first BIG step and milestone when we actually push out of the 3’s count as many of us have been discussing here lately. But as I’ve said no rush. January is kind of taking it’s time but I’m ok with that. And the weather has been nice for January. Winter Wonderland is the time of year we’re here in this thread enjoying but really I don’t see the wonderland with snow on it. But it still is winter and I’m sure we’ll see snow eventually and if you have seen any enjoy your view of it from inside I hope. No matter what your plans are for this weekend if it involves gobbling down some turkey then I hope you enjoy it. If it involves watching the Macy’s parade then enjoy that as well. And if you’re just dreaming of Thanksgiving then you can do that too. Or just watch the NFL playoff games. Or take down your Christmas tree! Plenty of options. Have a great day my turkey friends. Have a great January Weekend!

This weekend's activity is just definitely the NFL playoffs for me, but I bet if I played an older Macy's parade on YouTube in the background that it would give me all kinds of Thanksgiving feels. That might be just the thing to go.

And all this talk about ham and pork yesterday has me craving ham and pork! I'm not running out and buying a spiral-sliced ham or anything, but pork chops sure do sound good for dinner...

I'm watching the 49ers/Seahawks game right now!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 312
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 290
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 229

Happy Mid-January! Today folks we have 312 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 290 days to go until November, and 229 days left until The Bers. Our next milestones will be back to back days but they will not happen this coming week so we have a free week here. But they will be the Tom Turkey Day #2 in 11 days and then our 300-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving which will be a huge breakthrough in this thread I think. We all know that. The 3’s always makes everything seem impossible. We move along in our Winter Wonderland here in January where we actually have had winter weather this weekend. It’s cold, windy and we even had snow showers on and off throughout Saturday. Nothing major (no need to get out any shovels) but still it was kind of cool to see and made me feel in the holiday spirit a bit. Still enough lights out there too in my neighborhood. Are people loving Christmas or too lazy to take them down? Maybe a combination of both. For you turkey fans out there I hope you are all doing ok and hanging in doing the best you can. Watching the playoffs this weekend has made me feel like wanting turkey, stuffing and gravy. As long as we keep football on till the Superbowl we have our link from Thanksgiving. Now you all enjoy your Sunday and I hope it’s a restful one for you. Thanks for stopping by this thread on this weekend. Have a great Mid-January!

My wife makes the best ham ever. Even people who don't like ham normally talk about how good it is the way that she does it. Every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas we do Ham and Turkey. It's our family tradition. But there are lots of people who don't like Ham for Thanksgiving, and that's fine. But I couldn't imagine one of our holidays without it!
