DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 316
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 294
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 233

Happy Winter Wednesday! Today folks we have 316 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 294 days left until November, and 233 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestones will be not for another 2 + weeks. And that will be Tom Turkey Day #2 followed immediately the next day by the 300-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. And that will be a big one for sure. But we have lots of time between us and those milestones that are in the future of January. I’m living in the present of January and am fine with it. Speaking of January (and months in general) here is this week’s Wednesday poll!

Outside of November (obviously) what month do you most think about Thanksgiving?

  • October (because it’s the month before it)
  • December (because it just happened)
  • May (because it’s half way to November/Thanksgiving)
  • Name a month of your choice not listed above
  • This answer might surprise you a little but I’m going with C. The reason? You all know how I feel about Halloween so in October I really am so wound up with all my Halloween activities I’m not focused on Thanksgiving. December I do think about how awesome it was but of course I’m so involved with the Christmas Season it’s hard to concentrate on Thanksgiving as much. May is the halfway marker. And I really do think about it a lot then. That’s why I say in this thread May is the biggest month (other than November of course). What about you? We move ahead in our Winter Wonderland today and hope you are gobbling your way through today. Have a great Winter Wednesday!

I was going to say C, but it's actually October. I think about Thanksgiving daily in October. The anticipation is reaching a feverish pitch at this point in the year.

I think I miss Thanksgiving most in July. After we get past the fourth, my heart starts longing for Thanksgiving.

This is somewhat tough to nail down. I think I probably think about Thanksgiving the most in November itself, since that's the month it happens, but I don't know if that answer is considered cheating. Outside of November? Probably August. It's a weird choice, I know, but in August I'm in full Fall Preseason mode, and all of the pumpkin stuff on shelves reminds me of Thanksgiving and that it's coming soon.

I'm going to go with May. Ever since we started doing "Friendsgiving / Halfsgiving", it has been a month where pretty much every holiday is really on my mind.

May is a month where you really are close enough to everything at that point that thinking about all of the holidays just seem "natural".

April gets spooky Spring. June you are Halfway to Christmas and on the doorstep of "Christmas in July". August is basically Fall preseason / fall thoughts from that point forward.

I really feel like May is when I think the most about all of the holidays all at once! Have a great day!

I am going with A- October. By October I am thinking about Thanksgiving multiple times a day and starting to make plans!

August might be my 2nd pick...that whole month of anticipation for The Bers I start dreaming of everything.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 315
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 293
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 232

Happy Dozen Days Of January! Today folks we have 315 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 293 days left until November, and 232 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone(s) will be 2 weeks from today when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2 and 2 weeks from tomorrow when we reach the all-important 300-Day Marker Till Thanksgiving. We move along in our Winter Wonderland here in the 2nd week of January and have our 2nd Thanksgiving Thought of 2023!

We often try to describe what Thanksgiving is. Is it the best day of the year? That’s one of our fun little debates on this site. Or is it Christmas Eve? Christmas Day? Etc. Well one other way I’ve thought about recently to describe Thanksgiving is that it’s the most significant day of the year. Recently when I think back to Thanksgiving and how that day absolutely changed everything and then all the crazy amazing holiday stuff we had after it I think that’s a good word to describe it and a good way to describe it. The most “significant” day of the year.

It’s always hard to describe what a day is or how it is. I think that word though significant might fit Thanksgiving better than any other word. Now for all you turkey fans it is Thursday today so I hope you enjoy our Thanksgiving Thought in this thread and that you continue to have a good week. Our 3 day weekend (relaxing style) in this thread will begin tomorrow. Have a great Dozen Days Of January!

"Significant" is a great adjective to describe Thanksgiving Day. I swear, my appreciation for Thanksgiving (and November in general) has grown exponentially over the last few years. It's like no other day of the year. I'm giddy just thinking of this year's Thanksgiving.

"Significant" gives Thanksgiving the weight it deserves and it is certainly how I feel as it approaches and throughout the entire day.
