Tom Turkey Day #1 is just around the corner on the calendar. And on that day we will be one month beyond our glorious and delicious holiday. But with Christmas on our heels, I haven't had time to miss Thanksgiving. Yet. Now come January, it will be a different story. Until then everything will be merry and bright.
I don't know dealing with January seems harder every year...just seeing the temps coming on Christmas Eve/Day make me shiver. I don't like to be cold...but at least it will feel like Christmas this year.

With Christmas quickly approaching and now that I am starting to feel better, I am beginning to really feel bad about how much of my normal Thanksgiving experience I missed. I did not get to attend my extended family's Thanksgiving Dinner (Sunday before) and I did not do any of the typical activities during Thanksgiving Week. I know that in the moment I was grateful to be doing less and enjoyed "simple", but I am now feeling a bit sad about it.
Those feelings are so understandable. Hopefully you will feel well enough to do a ton of Christmas things this next week.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 340
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 318
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 257

Happy Week Before Christmas! Today folks we look at our counts and see 340 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 318 days to go until November, and 257 days left until The Bers. Our next milestones folks (yes I said milestones with an S) are going to be this coming week on Wednesday (Arrival Of Winter) and Thursday (Tom Turkey Day #1). I hope they will both deliver as well as we possibly can hope for. We move ahead in our wonderful season in this thread known as Happy Holidays. It’s hard not to love this season even though it’s the furthest one from Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving brought us this Holiday Season so we are all thankful for having it. All the stuffing, turkey, gravy and biscuits. Yum. I still want to go back and watch the parade one lonely and cold winter day. I think that’ll help me in January some time. For now like all of you I’m too busy getting ready for Christmas. I have no time to really worry about the coming hardcore winter time. Still wrapping gifts here, recovering from a cold the past several days and doing everything I can to take in all the wonderful moments of the coming week ahead. Incredible we’re a week away from Christmas. Feels like it felt when we were a week away from Thanksgiving. Total excitement personified. And here we go into Christmas Week. Have a great Week Before Christmas!

So we had a tragedy...the loss of a loved one in our family. After 14 years of serving up beloved Thanksgiving dishes such as dressings, rolls, mac and cheese, cajun turkeys, and various pies, our oven finally bit the big one this weekend. And with a week before Christmas remaining, we had no choice but to order a new one, pronto. So our new bundle of joy will be delivered on Wednesday in just enough time for us to prep and bake the dressing for Christmas Eve.

RIP original oven. Thanks for the good foods.

So glad to hear that you are expecting. And so close to Christmas too. Enjoy your little bundle!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 339
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 317
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 256

Happy Christmas Week! Today folks we have 339 days left until Thanksgiving, 317 days remaining until November and 256 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestones will happen this week back to back as the Arrival Of Winter reaches us on Wednesday followed by Tom Turkey Day #1 on Thursday. It’s going to be awesome seeing those back to back milestones coming. And we continue along in our Happy Holidays portion of this thread on this Monday of Christmas Week knowing that after this week folks there is no other week even close to it…except for the one we countdown to here on Mondays. Think about that. With that said, our weekly countdown till Thanksgiving Week is now at 48 weeks. Wow we had Thanksgiving Week 4 weeks ago that means. It seems longer, in a way, but in another way it seems like yesterday. Doesn’t it? No matter how much you’ve got to do this week folks I hope you enjoy every special moment of it. It’s unlike any other week of the year for sure. It’s a unique week and makes you think about Thanksgiving Week (our week here in this thread). Hard to believe you wait 4 weeks from Thanksgiving Week for Christmas Week to come but now we have to wait 48 weeks (12 times longer) for Thanksgiving Week from when Christmas Week is here. Keep those turkey faces going here even as everyone else (including us) is enjoying Santa time. We still love turkey time too. Have a great Christmas Week!

There really are no other weeks that compare to Christmas week and Thanksgiving week. It's going to feel like such a long time until we get these feelings again. I'm going to enjoy this week for sure, and then it's time to settle in for the long road back.

Its always a really long haul back! I get fed up with winter and we score like 1 week of spring at most due to rain or some cold front. Then it straightens out and reminds me of fall weather and it gets blistering hot. Then I realize the long summer is still ahead of us...blahhh

We mourn with you. But oh the joy of a new updated stove!

Sounds a lot like weather here in Virginia. Now last year was the exception to the rule, it really didn't get "hot" here until almost July, and we had a few "Sweatfest" weeks, but then by Mid August the temps were going down again like they always do. By the time we reached September, it was pretty reliably nice fall-like weather.

Of course it's freezing in Virginia right now, and Saturday and Sunday are supposed to be pretty wicked cold. But our "coldest" time doesn't usually arrive until late January / early February. I think here we don't really get a "true" Spring, it is cold and you still need to use heat at night through much of April. Last year we even were still burning fireplaces on Memorial Day weekend because it had gotten unexpectedly cold. I loved it but the people were pretty mad that the weekend the pool opened the high was like 50 degrees lol.

It is indeed a long haul back but we love "the journey" !

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 338
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 316
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 255

Happy Christmas Business! Today folks we move ahead into Day 2 of Christmas Week on a Tuesday here. And we have the following counts in this thread: 338 to Thanksgiving, 316 to November, 255 to The Bers. Our next milestones will be the next 2 days folks (back to back) when on Wednesday we reach the Arrival Of Winter and on Thursday we reach Tom Turkey Day #1. Going to be a fun couple of days here on our 2 biggest days of the week (Wednesday’s poll and Thursday’s though). We move ahead in our Happy Holidays feeling happy that we are in Christmas Week. It’s Tuesday folks so share those pictures of turkey, stuffing, gravy, or anything you find that reminds you of Thanksgiving which brought us the Happy Holidays. Don’t believe me? Just think back to how innocent things were in the days, weeks and months leading up to Thanksgiving. So innocent. Now? Look at us heading right towards Christmas Weekend. Amazing. So post your pictures today folks on picture day. I used to hate taking pictures in school but in this thread it makes Tuesdays fun. And no matter what your plans are today I hope you get your preparations moving along for the huge holiday weekend ahead of us. There’s nothing this big after this folks until…THANKSGIVING. But right now I’m just focused on finishing my wrapping and trying to find a few Thanksgiving pictures. Simplicity is the best. Have a great Christmas Business!

I have to say it. I just "hate" that Christmas is in just a few days. I'm really not looking forward to that sort of "empty space" between after Christmas. I know we have the MMC special days to look forward to, but I always feel every year that I can't feel "real" progress until Spring starts getting close and we start looking forward to Easter. Because Easter dinner and family gathering, in so many ways is so similar to Christmas and Thanksgiving!

Have a great Tuesday!
