C for me, but it has only been the last few years, and I enjoy being home on Weds, but I remember the feeling of leaving work on Thanksgiving Eve... almost euphoric.

For the last 21 years, it's been A for me. Michelle is out of school the whole week and the kids were too back in the 2000s and early 2010s. I've grown quite accustomed to it. I can't imagine working that week. If I last another ten years, I'll have it off for the rest of my life. LOL.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 273
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 251
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 190

Happy Winter Wisdom! Today folks we have 273 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 251 days to go until November and 190 days left until The Bers. We have reached a big milestone folks and that is Tom Turkey Day #3! Woohoo. And guess what? Tomorrow we reach ANOTHER milestone and that will be the 250-Day Marker Till November! WOW! We move along here through our Winter Wonderland for several more weeks still. And today we stop and do our #1 feature of the week which is our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday!

Thanksgiving is a holiday easier to recreate than the other major holidays (Halloween and Christmas). Cook a big turkey feast, put on the parade, or even a football game on DVR and gather with family around the table. You can make it feel like Thanksgiving. I think it’s doable. Halloween and Christmas don’t seem to me at least to be as easy to replicate in the off-season.

I guess that I will find out if what I believe is true or not because until this year I have not gone out of my way to try to replicate it. But 1 week from Saturday I will make my first attempt at it. I’m so excited about it. But I really wonder how it will feel. Now turkey fans you enjoy your Thursday ok? The best day of the week. The day Thanksgiving falls on every year. Have a great Winter Wisdom!

Either A or C for me. The last few years it has been C but this year I think I am going to take the Monday after off too. We shop BF and then decorate the house inside/out Thanksgiving weekend. This past year I was still decorating the week after so If I take the Monday after off I can finish up decorating and maybe get some wrapping done.

Happy Tom Turkey Day, friends!

I do agree that it is probably easier to recreate Thanksgiving than most other holidays, but capturing that "feel" is important. For me personally, I'm not able to replicate the feel of Thanksgiving without family being here. They are part of the whole experience. I guess that's why Easter is probably the closest Thanksgiving-like experience that I get in the Offseason.

Regarding time off poll: My last job that I had for over 25 years was teaching at a college. The college always closed at 5pm Wednesday and was closed until the following Monday.

Many years I took 3 personal days so I'd have the full week. It was only another three weeks after that and I'd get three more weeks, for Christmas break, all paid!!!!

I was so fortunate to have that job. I loved it.

Easter definitely is a good one being similar to Thanksgiving.

Good to see you, Kim. I was wondering if you survived the 500. LOL

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 272
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 250
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 189

Happy Flawless February! Today folks we look up and see 272 days remain until Thanksgiving, 250 days remain until November and 189 days remain until The Bers. It’s Milestone Day #2 (in a row) with our 250-Day Marker Till November! Big one for sure. I’m not ready to think about November right now though folks. We haven’t even left our Winter Wonderland yet and won’t the rest of this month nor the 1st half of next month. We have left the busy time of this thread though and now settle into our 3-day weekend here in this thread. Just counts, fun, and company. Our next milestone folks will be on Wednesday when we welcome in March with the Day of Hope (as I call it). Looks like maybe March will come in chilly. Hey it’s been too easy of a winter there has to be some real chill still to come for us. I know some of you have gotten more than your fair share of winter so you’re looking forward to spring right about now. All in good time as they say. Someday we’ll all be sweating and CW will be so mad lol. And we’ll all have fun over it and make sure our a/c is working so need to rush forward to that quite yet. Now turkey fans I hope you’re doing well. I saw a turkey walking around the other day in someone’s yard. Was funny to see. Wonder if he thinks it is turkey season already again? Have a great Flawless February!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 271
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 249
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 188

Happy Final Weekend Of February! Today folks we have 271 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 249 days to go until November, and 188 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Wednesday when we welcome in the Arrival Of March! That will be huge for all of us. It will be the Day Of Hope and a big milestone. It’s one we are all looking forward to. Just being in March feels lighter, brighter, and milder. Even if you get a chilly period in March or even some snow it’s not the same as that happening in January where you feel like it could be bad for months ahead still. We continue our quiet weekend right here in this thread. I love our 3-day weekends in the Thanksgiving Thread. It’s awesome. They are the best. We stick around here in our Winter Wonderland and I’m at the point in the winter where I actually want to hang on to it. Maybe not hoping for big snows/cold at this point but still realizing that once we move out of winter we never go backwards to it. Interesting. So I’m ok with it being the Winter Wonderland and maybe we’ll even get a little snow here on Monday night. We shall see. Right now I’m just worried about today and this weekend. Nothing more. Nothing less. Now for all you turkey fans you do the right thing and enjoy your weekend. I’m planning on that Mini Thanksgiving happening 1 week from today. It will make my next week be even more exciting. Have a great Final Weekend Of February!

We just put it down on the calendar. We'll be "joining you" for this first ever virtual Mini Thanksgiving. I wonder if on MMC has something like this ever been done before. It was such a wonderful idea and I know it's going to be lots of fun.

I can't wait to see all the pictures!

Have a great day!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 270
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 248
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 187

Happy February Sunday! Today folks we have 270 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 248 days left until November, and 187 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Wednesday when we welcome in the month of March. It will be a big turning point as it will be The Day Of Hope. And it will be a sign that we have completed 3 of 11 months of our journey back to November. For now folks I’m good with where we are here in late February. We’re all in a good spot. We continue and conclude our quiet 3-day weekend in this thread before starting things back up on Monday with our 4 day stretch of busy times here. Weekly Countdown, Picture Day, Poll Day, Thanksgiving Thought. Going to be fun for sure. It always is in this thread and it’s thanks to all the turkeys showing up in this thread. And yesterday we did finalize and confirm next Saturday my first ever Mini Thanksgiving. I can hardly wait. But I heard turkey (of course), cranberry sauce, potatoes, biscuits and a couple other items will be at the table. And I will definitely try to put on the parade. Why not? It’s not normal sure. But it’s going to be fun for a change. We don’t care if people judge us for being turkey lovers do we? It’s an honor to be what we are and a great time to be here in turkeyville. Keep the Thanksgiving thread going folks. Have a great February Sunday!
