DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 54
Happy September TGIF! Today folks we move along and see our counts at 76 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 54 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be in 4 days and it will be the Final Fifty till November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn and maybe we can turn the weather a little more like autumn here? It’s been such a hot week for September. Dare I say this was the hottest weather we’ve had this summer season? I think so. Nothing beat July with the relentless humidity but this week has been hot like 90+ every single day. And we didn’t see that many 90 degree days this summer. We saw a couple in April ironically. With weather you never know. But folks with the Thanksgiving Thread you DO know. You know when Friday arrives we begin our 3-day quiet period here. And that is the case here starting today and going through the remainder of this weekend ahead. Turkey fans I hope you’re all enjoying your time here on this Friday and getting ready for your exciting Bers Weekend ahead. That is my hope for all of you as we move along here in the latter portion of the week. A 4-day week sometimes feels longer than a 5-day week ironically. Gobble Gobble. Have a great September TGIF!

Happy September Weekend! Today folks we move along and see that we have 75 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 53 days to go until November. Our next milestone is going to be in 3 days when we reach out Final Fifty till November. Wow. Ok let’s not get ahead of ourselves though especially when we are in the wonderful time of year known as our Awesome Autumn. Let’s enjoy every single step along the way. And let’s not rush it ok? But we move along here and into another weekend with this one being a Bers weekend which makes it even more exciting than normal. And for all you turkey fans you know we had a busy week in this thread but right now we take our break Day 2 of 3 style. As we enjoy our 3-day quiet weekend period. Ahh and it’s Saturday my favorite day of the week. I always say Saturday mornings are my favorite time of week (hence for the Saturday AM thread I started years ago). But we don’t have Thanksgiving on a Saturday. Oh no we have it on a Thursday in November. So we have plenty of time to enjoy the road to it. And actually folks tomorrow I’ll try to point out how I feel the true road to Thanksgiving which just started on Labor Day really gets going next week. For now just enjoy your Saturday. Happy Double Digits September! Today folks we have 74 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 52 days left until November. Our next milestone will be in 2 days. That will be on Tuesday when we reach the Final Fifty till November. I know all of us will look forward to that milestone on Picture Day. We move along in our Awesome Autumn and our final Day 3 of 3 in our quiet weekend period. This weekend got even quieter than I was expecting which I’m fine with. Plenty of plans on weekends in the weeks and months to come. Enjoy the relaxation. Folks the next 10 weeks is the Heart & Soul of Autumn. I know Autumn won’t start for another week and a half or so and I know it will go deep into December officially. But these 10 weeks after Labor Day Week right up through the weekend before Thanksgiving really is the heart of autumn. Once we get beyond that our eyes start turning towards the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I’ve looked at these 10 weeks like this for a long time. Actually, next year we’ll get 11 weeks because Labor Day will come earlier and Thanksgiving will come later (which will extend our heart of autumn by a full week). Keep it real turkey fans. For us in Scandiniva who celebrate Thanksgiving, do so the fourth
Thursday in November. That's the only day to celebrate Thanksgiving.
When we started to celebrate back in 2007, I did not now anyone else who did.
But now, more and more Norwegians do (and Swedes)
I love this tradition
And it started with that they celebrated TG in my kids kindergarten
(because there was american kids going there)
My kids loved it, and wondered if we also could celebrate TG at home
And I said YES of course.
I have invited all my family for Thanksgiving since,
and thats the highlight of the year for my family.
