Thanksgiving 2023 Thread

A turkey bowl football game. Post graduation we would get together with past teamates/friends and play a football game on Thanksgiving morning. I know some larger families that also do a tag football family game that morning. It has been a long time since I participated in one but they were good times.
Love it! But I would get hurt just stretching out. LOL

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 12
Happy Fall Friday! Today folks we have 34 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 12 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be Sunday. That is not today nor tomorrow. But it will happen towards the latter part of our upcoming weekend. It will be the Home Stretch till November. Right now folks we move along in our Awesome Autumn and definitely feeling like crunch time for Halloween fans isn’t it? Big weekend ahead if you’re a fan of Halloween. And then? Well you know what comes after that. We can’t speak about such things though here. Not now. I can’t. It’s a secret plus I’m not ready. I’m not. So let’s stay in October. And while we do we begin our 3-day quiet weekend period with the first day here today. That’s how we start it off Friday style. And I hope your week has gone well so far. Lots of good stuff this week for you I hope and that you’re looking forward to a big and spooky weekend here in October. I definitely feel like October has at least gone slower than September. I don’t know how to rank the speed of each month but I’ve said this several times but January & July were the 2 slowest months of the year (so far) by far. For whatever reason that’s how I felt. Happy Friday to all! Last night I was in the grocery store and I saw them "consolidating Halloween". For as sad as that always is, I got a little excited because I know that soon Thanksgiving displays will be coming. I could just imagine all the stacks of stuffing, cooking oil, bread crumbs, etc... Probably here in about another week roughly, the "magic" in the air will be so thick you can cut it with a knife. These are truly magical special times we are in right now.

Happy Scary Weekend! Today folks we have 33 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 11 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be on Sunday. That’s tomorrow folks in case you didn’t realize it and it will be the Home Stretch till November. It’s going to be awesome if you ask me. Not that anyone did ask me. We move along in our Awesome Autumn feeling great here on the weekend and day 2 of 3 in our quiet weekend period here. Our 3 day weekends are as valuable in this thread as our busy 4-day topic week. I think we have a great thing going here in this thread. I think this has been the best year (so far) for this annual thread we’ve been doing for several years now. And I thank all of you for making that happen. With your ideas and participation, it’s made this thread a lot of fun to be a part of. I’m not getting all sentimental because we have a whole month (and beyond) still to go for this thread. But definitely wanted to acknowledge all of my turkey fans who have helped this thread be awesome. And I hope for all of you gobblers out there that you have an awesome Saturday and start to your weekend. The rain here should be moving out pretty soon (hopefully). I look forward to some dry conditions. Have a great Scary Weekend!

It POURED rain yesterday afternoon and late into the evening. I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get my driveway sealed today before winter. But fortunately, when I woke up this morning, my driveway was just a little damp, and amazingly enough, the sealer/resurfacer that I bought actually recommends putting down the sealer when the surface is damp! So by 7:30AM I was laying sealer and I was totally finished by 10:20 AM. I was slow and the gel being colder made working with it more difficult. I have only sealed this driveway twice since having owned this house, we had it installed in 2018 and I sealed it for the first time in 2020. I have learned some tricks from watching Youtube that makes the job go a little easier, but holy cow am I sore.
It actually feels like Thanksgiving out there with a cool breeze and seeing the leaves fall all around us.

Happy Orange & Black! Today folks we have 32 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 10 days to go until November. It’s Milestone Day folks. We have reached the Home Stretch till November. Wow. Our next milestone? It will be in 4 days folks and it will shake you to the core. It will make you realize how we are getting closer now. It will be Tom Turkey Day. So what? It’s the FINAL TOM TURKEY DAY until Thanksgiving Day. WHAT? Yes, it is. And it will happen on Thursday. My goodness. That’s scary. But we are here in our Awesome Autumn and 3-day weekend period enjoying our quiet times here today. And enjoying it we will do. It’s been a quiet weekend which is nice because next weekend will be probably be busier for me. I try to balance out busy and quiet weekends as best as I can. And all of you turkey fans I am sure are enjoying your weekend as much as you possibly can. I hope you all are. Turkey fans have a great time today on Sunday. Enjoy some football and family. Sundays this time of year almost feel like a mini Thanksgiving don’t they? They do. Turkey fans have a great time today. And if you see a turkey around say hey hey to it.
