Back home we had a dish like this that was called "slippery pot pie."

It may be of Amish origin. I found a description online from a Maryland restaurant that serves it: "Tender pulled chicken simmering with vegetables in savory gravy with homemade pot pie dumplings."

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 7

Happy Week Till Thanksgiving! Today we move along into our Thursday with our lonely countdown sitting at 7 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Now you don’t have to be a math major to realize that it is 1 week from now. And it is amazing to realize that we are where we are right now. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our final milestone or destination I should say being Thanksgiving Day. Yep, that’s 1 week from today. We talk about our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below with anticipation being the key word!

Thanksgiving Day is 1 week from now. Can you believe it? It’s hard to but at the same point I’m feeling the anticipation now. My mind is really focused on it. But I’m trying to get us there by crawling slowly. The anticipation seems to be building by the day and soon it will build by the hour (and eventually the minute). Anticipation is a great thing and when it comes to Thanksgiving Day there is a lot of it!

We have been anticipating Thanksgiving Day since last year when we went to bed on Thanksgiving. But that’s one great thing I love about this thread. And yet we enjoy the entire year. Have a great Week Till Thanksgiving!​

I can feel how different it is just being outside. I know we are still in The Bers technically, but I feel like we are in the very final days of the "Autumn Bers". They become the "Christmas Bers" after Thanksgiving is over. And December I feel like is its own season. I think I came to this distinction last year.

But here we are a week out. Somehow it feels like we got here FAST. Thanksgiving 2023 to Thanksgiving 2024 feels like it tore by. Have a great day!

Autumn kind of got away from me this year. We hunted Idaho and Montana on two seperate times, rush home and catch up in the garage.

I got a lot to do this weekend (mostly around home base, local errands etc.)!
