I have put on way more than one pound. Edge's estimate of 5-10 sounds more correct. Thankfully I'll be starting my diet up again next week, and I'm planning on buying a new treadmill very soon so that I can start walking again on my lunch breaks. Our old treadmill bit the dust last year (motor started smoking one day).

A smoking motor is never a good sign. Were you running so fast that it almost started a fire?

Good luck with the new treadmill if you get it!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 313
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 286
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 225

Happy Winter Weekend! Today folks we have 313 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 286 days to go until November, and 225 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Thursday when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. But first we move along in our Winter Wonderland with a very cold weekend here in store. But that’s what January is sometimes. It’s winter after all. We got spoiled last winter with a non-winter. Turkey friends let’s take a breath now after our 5 topics of the week and enjoy a quiet weekend in this thread. And gobble gobble all weekend long with turkey thoughts. And don’t forget the cranberry sauce because it makes my turkey complete. I hope everyone had a good week this week and is happy to be on the weekend. Here we go friends right into the cold. Put those gloves on or hat/scarf. Whatever you need to stay warm. And maybe if you run like a turkey across the road that will help you feel warmer too. And then you’ll feel what a turkey feels. See the turkey. Be the turkey. And Thanksgiving friends we have NFL playoffs on this weekend so that will make it feel still like Thanksgiving and The Bers won’t it? At least a nice little taste of it for all of us to enjoy. Have a great Winter Weekend!

Tom Turkey Day coming up! Our tri-fecta of MMC Special Days are nearly here! Just the boost I need to power me through the rest of January! Have a great day!

I'm looking forward to watching some football today and tackling some household chores. I need to do another round of shoveling and am hoping that the wind won't blow the garage door right back in but at least I get to come back in to watch football and relax, which I think will give me some Thanksgiving feels!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 312
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 285
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 224

Happy Frozen January! Today folks we move along and see we have 312 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 285 days to go until November, and 224 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Thursday when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. That will be sweet for sure. I’m looking forward to it. But right now I’m looking forward to my quiet weekend part 2 in this thread. Love our quiet weekends and a chance to hit the reset button each weekend. And in our Winter Wonderland which it looks still like that out there with all the snow/ice around it feels appropriate to relax some this weekend. But we are going out for dinner today so I’m looking forward to it as I was home most of the day on Saturday. Turkey friends you enjoy your day today. And remember tomorrow we’ll start a new week of our 5 topics. Monday through Friday every week in this thread you’ll get a special daily topic and you know what each day is by now. I do love the mixture we’ve formed here. It’s taken us a few years to really fill it all out but I think it’s gotten to the point where it’s perfect now. I hope it is at least. But always open to new suggestions. Turkey friends gobble your way into your Sunday. Enjoy it. Have a great Frozen January!

Today we finally get above freezing, and we stay that way for the next 10 - 12 days. It's really crazy around here. There are giant icicles everywhere. I think every house around me has frozen gutters and downspouts. That I don't like. I got on the ladder yesterday and checked out mine, they are frozen with about a quarter of an inch of ice in the gutters. They are attached firmly thank goodness. I saw a house on the way home yesterday that had the gutter halfway ripped off from the weight of the ice. Everyone is looking forward to the warmer weather rolling in. It's not summer sweatfest weather because not too many people look forward to that. But I'm really going to try and enjoy these next two weeks and maybe even do some outside walking and exercise again, we've basically been hibernating ever since Christmas ended.

Have a great day, friends!

I need to break out of my own hibernation too. My work is having a steps and weight loss challenge starting tomorrow and I am going to join and use it as extra motivation to get moving and eating healthier again. I've enjoyed all the movies and books and my paint by numbers but now I need to get outside and listen to some podcasts and walk with friends. The next 10 days will be a good start and I know that there are more days of hibernation ahead and I reserve the right to eat terribly for the Super Bowl! LOL!

Feeling that Thanksgiving attitude of gratitude especially strong today. Cold weather--I have a warm and snug house. Tax season coming up--I have finally come up with a rhythm for deductions that keeps it from being stressful. I have a full freezer and pantry. I have enough to share with those who don't. Feeling lonely--I have family and friends (including those here) I can reach out to. Need to go somewhere--I have a dependable car. Yup, have a Thanksgiving basket full of things I am grateful for today.

So do I!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 311
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 284
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 223

Happy Winter Week! Today folks we have 311 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 284 days to go until November, and 223 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Thursday when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. Big. Be here for it. We still have ice/snow on the ground here in our Winter Wonderland. It’s Monday friends and that means the beginning of our brand new topics for the week. Monday means our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week and looking at today’s count it stands at 44 weeks. Double 4’s folks. Enjoy it because it means we have tons and tons of time to enjoy building back to the most wonderful holiday which is Thanksgiving Day. I still feel like my sickness that day robbed me a bit of my full enjoyment. I know. I won’t hold a grudge about it but it just makes me even more determined and excited for this year’s Thanksgiving. Hopefully you enjoyed some NFL football playoffs this weekend if you like football. It definitely always reminds me of Thanksgiving and the holiday season. That’s what I love about January is holding on to it as long as I can. Turkey friends you gobble your way through your Monday and make the most of today not worrying about tomorrow. Have a great Winter Week!

Happy Monday! I was eager to see the Weekly count and am ready to start another week. And what a big week it is with Tom Turkey Day, Rudolph Day, and JOL Day! My nephew-in-law is a big fan of the 49'ers so I am happy that they won. I sent a text out to my family to see if anyone is interested in having another appetizer exchange for the Super Bowl, so far not responses, hopefully it is just too soon? I have to remind myself that other people don't always like to plan everything too far in advance, or maybe they all have a better offer!
