DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 202
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 175
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 114

Happy Double Digits May! Today folks we have 202 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 175 days to go until November, and 114 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Sunday which is Mother’s Day and will be the 200-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. 2 reasons to celebrate on Sunday then. Pretty awesome, isn’t it? Turkey friends we move along in our Super Spring with 2 Stress-Free weeks left beginning today thanksgiving with our Fun Fact Friday below!

The average cost of Thanksgiving dinner is $53.31 for 10 guests.

That doesn’t seem right to me. I wonder if they mean “per person” lol. But I don’t know how they’re thinking that. We get our turkey free every year based on how much we spend at the supermarket so I mean if you’re counting that it would cheapen the cost, but nothing seems that cheap these days does it? Turkey friends have a great Friday today. I’m off from work but going to the mall for a bit this afternoon. And just strutting around like a turkey. A very low-key 3-day weekend here. I’m thankful for that. And thankful for all of you being here of course as well as I always state. Have a great Double Digits May!

Is that fact based on Thanksgiving 1975? LOL. I feel like it costs WAYYYYYYYYYY more than that now. Like the turkey is almost $50 bucks by itself…
I think I ate over $50 worth all by myself last year. I think I'll track the cost of everything we buy this year and see what it comes up to. Should be interesting.

WOW! Maybe for 4 people?!? Some years I buy a Heat and Eat meal from a local grocery store, and I always look to see what the prices for all the different meals are.

I am going to paste in the closest meal I could find, it is advertised as being for 12-14 people, not 10, but this is what there offering is

Holiday Turkey Dinner Serves 12 - 14 People | $179.99

Dinner includes:
One 14-16 lb Whole Roasted Turkey
4 lbs. Mashed Potatoes
2 lbs. Turkey Gravy
5 lbs. Sage Dressing
3 lbs. Green Bean Casserole
2 lbs. Buttered Corn
1 lb. Fresh Cranberry Relish
16 Fresh Baked Dinner Rolls
3 - 8” Bakery Fresh Pies (Pumpkin or Apple)

Dinner REQUIRES reheating.

Available for pickup COLD anytime during store business hours TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 21 or WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2023. | We appreciate advance notice if possible.

The last time I ordered a meal, I ordered a Ham Dinner for 4 people and it cost me $59.99, when I ran the cost comparison I estimated that it would have costed me $45.00 for the ingredients. So even if the store added $15 to every 45 dollars of ingredients, I think it would cost them $135 or about $11.25 a person, so for 10 people I think ingredients would cost at least $110.00.

Sorry if I got carried away but some years I enjoy the Take and Bake meals, especially if my extended family celebration is a turkey dinner and my own Thanksgiving Day is just a small group. Some years I am happy to pay $15 extra to have a nice meal to enjoy without all the prep, other years I love the prep, but I always like to compare prices!

There are usually about 16 or 17 of us each year and with turkey and ham (my store doesn't do the free turkey anymore) and all the fixings, I would guess I spend about $200,, maybe more. I know there are always tons of leftovers, so maybe they count just cooking enough for one serving per person.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 201
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 174
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 113

Happy Mother’s Day Weekend! Today folks we have 201 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 174 days to go until November, and 113 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be tomorrow on Mother’s Day. It will be the FINAL day we have any 2’s counts in this thread. It will be the 200-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. How did that happen? We move along in our Super Spring with some more Stress-Free time to enjoy this quiet weekend after all of the fun we have had during this week. I like that we have fun all week and rest on the weekends here. I hope you all have good plans for the weekend. Very laid back here and staying close to home base which I cherish when we have those times even if it’s doing (fun) stuff like yardwork and laundry. It’s good to mix it up like I say on the weekends. Some more fun and busy weekends with a good mixture of quieter weekends as well. This is definitely a quiet one I’m going to make the most of. I’ve got some new books to read too so I’m looking forward to doing that as well. Turkey friends I think you are all awesome so thanks for being here and being with me on this journey together here with the time of year we all love to talk about. And you are all the best. What’d I do without you guys? Have a great Mother’s Day Weekend!

Happy May The 4th Be With You! Today folks we move along and talk about May Weekends. We like to talk about different months weekends and now we move into the wonderful month of May which includes a lot of stuff!

We talk weekends in the Hang Out often. And now we talk about May Weekends. These weekends are special folks. Of course, all weekends are but when you get to May you really are fully in outdoor mode now. As much as you can get out there you probably will this month. It starts innocently this weekend then picks up speed throughout the month. And before the end of the month comes, you’ll be in borderline summer mode with Memorial Day Weekend. You may try to get to the beach by then. So a real mixture this month of spring and maybe even a jump on summer depending on how hot (or not) it gets during this month of May. At heart you all know I still love hibernating. How do you feel about May Weekends? Tell us today in the Hang Out!
I think you are all awesome so thanks for being here and being with me on this journey together here with the time of year we all love to talk about. And you are all the best. What’d I do without you guys? Have a great Mother’s Day Weekend!

I feel the same about you and I hope you know that I appreciate all you do!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 200
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 173
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 112

Happy Mother’s Day! Today folks we move along on a very special day. It’s Mother’s Day but also look at our counts. 200 days remain until Thanksgiving, 173 days left until November, and 112 days to go until The Bers. We have reached a big milestone on this day here with the 200-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. Folks this is it for the 2’s so enjoy it. We move along in our Super Spring Stress Free Style and have to break the news to you of our next 2 milestones. Back to Back Milestones folks in 11 days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #6 and folks the one we’ve all been hinting at the day after which will be in 12 days when we reach the 100-Day Marker till The Bers. That will be the end of our stress free time and super spring as well. But for now friends enjoy your moms. And we move along here in our quiet weekend period part 2 which we all love and enjoy before things ramp up for another 5 days of topics. No holidays or vacations in this thread for those 5 topics each week. You can count on them. Just like you could always count on your mom. Turkey friends acknowledge today is a special day just like that 4th Thursday in the month of November is. I think it’s called Thanksgiving. Just thinking of that word makes me smile. Have a great Mother’s Day!

Happy Sunday, Happy Mother's Day, and Happy 200 days until Thanksgiving! The Weekly Countdown is always my favorite part of Mondays but I think hitting the 100s will make my Monday even better.

I'm really eyeing that Memorial Day Weekend 100-Day Marker in a weird way like I want it to come but I don't...cause I know then there's no looking back!
I sort of had similar thoughts earlier this morning. I was outside cleaning up the yard and getting ready to mow, and I thought what the heck, let me play my "PCB Playlist". It was amazing feelings. Immediately was missing the holidays but it was also coupled with the excitement / anticipation that is more present at this point in the year than PCB's. I'm not sure if I've ever had that reaction because I've never usually thought of PCB's this far in May. And I thought that I didn't really want to "feel" like missing the holidays again because the next time I would really be feeling that, would be in late December and having a very, very long way to go to even get to where we are right now at this point!

Folks, we're going to wake up tomorrow and be down in the 100's towards Thanksgiving! Let that sink in for a minute. Holy cow! If any part of the year earlier felt like it was dragging, it sure seems to be picking up speed now!
