Good Grief the Thanksgiving count dips into the 30's tomorrow! That doesn't seem possible!

I think today will be our final true mowing session here at home. After today it turns cold again and I think that we will be mulching up leaves the rest of this month and the beginning of November.

Have a great Saturday!

Right! Where did the last 30 days go?

Every year I like to keep an eye on the offerings of a local grocery store that offers Take and Bake Thanksgiving Dinners and the prices. I have purchased them at least twice in the past and it was pretty good and the convenience was nice, especially the year I ended up being pretty sick the weekend before and the week of Thanksgiving.

Here is this year's data:

The Holiday Turkey Dinner (serves 12-14) stayed the same at $179.99 - 0%
White Meat Turkey Dinner (serves 12-14) increased to $239.99 an increase of $40.00 - +20%
Holiday Turkey Feast for 4 went up by $10.00 to $109.99 - +22%
Glazed Ham Feast for 4 is at $79.99, up from $69.99 - +14%
3 one pound sides cost $12.00 last year and increased to $15.00 - +25%

Overall, it was to be expected and I will update what an rough equivalent would cost me to make sometime soon and keep an eye on the sales flyers.

Not shocked by the increases because that seems to be everything everywhere, but am surprised that the Holiday Turkey Dinner stayed the same price.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 39
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 13

Happy Fall Sunday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 39 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 13 days to go until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving in 3 days with the Home Stretch till November. We move along into the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period and I hope you all are doing well. The Sunday Group is heading to our 3rd annual Headless Horseman event upstate. It’s a good long drive (close to an hour and a half) but it’s worth it. 2 full hours of a Hayride, Halloween Trail, Haunted Houses and a Corn Maze. Absolutely an awesome time if you are a fan of the Halloween Season. Turkey friends our time will come but right now you know I’m fully into the Halloween Season. My focus is there but my focus is always here thanks to this thread. And it continues to be as we move towards another new week here in the month of October. Our month and our day will come eventually. For now, I’m happy to be where we are in The Bers and in the Autumn Season. Turkey friends the best to you here as we move along into this Sunday. I wish you all the best today and in this incredible season we are in currently. Gobble Gobble. Have a great Fall Sunday!

Here we go - the 30's are here! And this Thursday, I believe the final Tom Turkey Day of 2025 will occur. Unless @Rich moves it up a week in December? As of right now Tom Turkey Day would fall on the same day as Christmas!

That is surprising!

There are years that I look forward to all the prep and cooking and there are years when I enjoy the convenience and I also tell myself that if I were to consider prep time as being worth even $15 an hour and deduct that from the $179.00 (which already includes tax) it doesn't really seem that outrageous. I think I am going to wait to make a decision until the second week in November. I already cook for and have a (fairly) traditional meal with my extended family the weekend before Thanksgiving, and since my sister-in-law passed away in September I will definitely include my brother and have plenty left over to send him home with leftovers and have some for here on Friday and Saturday while I decorate.

The December Tom Turkey Day doesn't receive much fanfare, and rightfully so. Way too close to Christmas. But come January, it will be longed for.

I was going to add up the cost of our Thanksgiving meal last year, but then we decided to go to our parents' house for the holiday. But not this year. So I'm going to give it another shot. ;)

That’s great! Please share if you don’t mind, I will keep a total too if I don’t go for the Take and Bake!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 38
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 12

Happy Autumn Week! Today folks we move along and see that we have 38 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 12 days to go until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving on Wednesday with the Home Stretch till November. It’s Monday folks so time for our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. It now stands at 5 weeks as we have one hand left to go now for weeks of our countdown. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a heck of a time at the Sunday Group’s 3rd Annual Headless Horseman event. It was incredible as always and I’ll be giving a review on it on Tuesday in the Holiday Hang Out if you are so interested to read about it. I am ready for a new week. Are you? It’s a big autumn week my friends. It feels like autumn now. The weather really changed and although we still have warm days here and there it doesn’t feel like summer anymore which is good because summer technically left us almost a month ago already now. Hard to believe that. Turkey friends the best to you as we begin a new week and a new journey. I hope you enjoy your Monday and thanks for stopping by our fun place here in the Thanksgiving Thread. The best to you all. Have a great Autumn Week!

I'm late to this reply, but even though we are most likely having Thanksgiving up at my in-law's, as per Tradition, I will ask Holly if she can keep track of what they will be spending so I can share on here. They always go "all out", so I am sure nobody will be shocked when they see the bill!

Have a great Monday!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 37
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 11

Happy Fall Tuesday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 37 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 11 days left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving tomorrow with the Home Stretch till November. It’s Tuesday folks so time for our weekly Picture Day. I hope you are ready to enjoy sharing pictures with us of all the Autumn and Thanksgiving stuff you hope to enjoy daily now and soon as we approach our season down the road. Turkey friends, I wish you well this Tuesday and thanks for stopping by this thread. It’s amazing to think of where we are here during this time of year. Most of us Thanksgiving fans are fans of Halloween also so check out my little summary/review of the Headless Horseman event I attended Sunday. We truly enjoy attending these fun events. They really put you in the mood for the holiday. And you just feel it. It’s a great feeling this time of year to be where we are. I hope you are all enjoying your autumn so far and that it continues to be awesome for you as much as possible. Gobble Gobble my turkey friends. The best to you my friends and have a great day today doing what you’re doing. Have a great Fall Tuesday!

In honor of what I "discovered" last week, here is "The Gobbler", the seasonal sandwich offering at WaWa right now:

I have to get one of these while they still have them! Either going to be amazing, or horrible! Probably no in between! Have a great Tuesday!
