Thanksgiving 2025 Thread

I hear you on the cold. It is 20 degrees outside right now and yesterday was in the 60's. It starting cooling down yesterday around 3PM, and by 9PM it was in the 20's. I've only saw that violent of a temperature swing a few times in my life. The weather anymore is wild.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 269
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 243
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 182

Happy March Week! Today folks we move along and see that we have 269 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 243 days left until November, and 182 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone not happening until the next season arrives which is Spring. And that will be in 17 days. However, today is a big day because we begin the 26-week (2nd half) journey back to The Bers. Check out The Bers countdown for more on that. But friends it is Monday and guess what? We do our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week on Mondays. And guess what it stands at now? 38 weeks. Yes, we did move into the 30s count last Monday and now we move one notch below here on this Monday. Turkey friends I hope your week is going to get off to a fantastic start. And I wish you all the best. I have to say I love March even though yesterday felt more like January. Those really cold days just don’t last as long as they did in January and February. Very similar to how in September those really hot days don’t last as long as they did in July and August. Turkey friends the best to you here on this Monday. Happy 1st full week of March! I feel / see the comparisons to January from yesterday. It felt like a full winter day yesterday with the wind and the cold. I was raking up sticks and twigs during the warmest part of yesterday, and I could feel the chill and smell the scent of wood smoke from nearby chimneys, and I had to remind myself that there would be a day soon when I would miss that. Probably the first day where it hits 80 or 90.

Crawling our way to the weekend. Here we go!

I like the looks of that 38 weeks right now. Last night I had a roaring fire in the backyard pit. The temperature was only 50F, so I was sweating a bit. But I had a bunch of stuff I needed to get burned.

I feel like 38 weeks is a good place to be right now. I’m in no rush, and I need time to practice my turkey smoking skills. Maybe for Halfsgiving I’ll try smoking a small one to see how it turns out.

I need to do some raking and stick picking-upping too. The yard will get slow rolled later this month. Some years I have to hire to have the rocks left behind by the snow plow broomed out of the yard but I think I can rake it out myself this year. Lots of chores and tasks to do in the next 26 weeks will help pass the time!

Happy March Forth! Today folks we move along and see that we have 268 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 242 days left until November, and 181 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone arriving when spring arrives. That will be in 2 weeks + 2 days from now. Turkey friends it’s Tuesday so time for Picture Day. Yes, post some of those pictures of Autumn and Thanksgiving. You all know we’re heading right into the time of year where we start feeling like fall. In fact, March and November are very comparable in my area for temperatures. So, I’m going to get a taste here of Thanksgiving. But what about a turkey taste? I still have that turkey in the freezer, and it will come out this spring for sure. We just have to find the right time and date to make it. Turkey friends I hope you are well and that your week got off to a great start on Monday. The best to you as we move along into day two of the week. I hope your March week is going well so far and that it only gets better from here onward. Looks to be getting milder today which I’ll take. And you notice how much warmer the sun is in March compared to January and even February. Turkey friends post those pictures and have a great day today. Have a great March Forth!
