I'm going to go with "B" for Snow. Honestly Snow is the only thing I enjoy about winter, because it makes me constantly think of Christmas. But once Christmas is over, and then we don't get any snow, there's really nothing happening but being gray and dark. It's not as much of a comforting time as it is in the beginning of winter when you still have the Christmas Tree and the lights and decorations up.

So right now we are still enjoying Snow, but I imagine here in a few more weeks, especially once February hits, I will be longing for Spring!

Have a great day!

My favorite thing about winter is snow, but I'd much rather have summer than winter. So I guess my answer is B and D.

I would say B, but we don’t ever get snow down here except maybe once every decade, and even then it’s for a single day and doesn’t stick, so I’m not sure I can vote B in good confidence.

I guess it’s A for me then. I’m the weirdo of the bunch, but because we have summer-like weather here for 90% of the year, that winter cold isn’t an annoyance — it’s a REPRIEVE.

It’s D for me. I love the holidays, of course. But after New Years, we can skip right to Easter for all I care. Winter is the worst.

I like winter activities..okay only snowmobiles. I use winter to get ahead on vehicles under restoration (owners dont see it this way..lol) so that I can hunt all fall wherever. Boys had to check on their pumpkin stash in the root cellar this morning, seems all is fine with them due to none of them yelling.

Renegade, but I enjoy winter, as long as it doesn't come too early or stay too long. I like the snow and usually we get plenty. Bottom line for me is there is something to enjoy in each season. Oh, don't get me wrong, I complain it is too cold; March too windy; some of the summer too hot, but that is because the only thing you can do about the weather is complain.

Can't control the weather!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 322
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 296
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 235

Happy Jumping January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 322 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 296 days left until November and 235 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone not arriving for another 2 weeks when Tom Turkey Day #2 will be here. But for now, my friends we focus on today and our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday which is below!

Christmas Season was unbelievable. It made me realize it’s still the best season of all and I recently was tracing back in my mind when it all began. And it really started on Thanksgiving Eve for me. That single day changed everything. It was such a simple day but such a special one and I kind of wish I had remembered really what that day was going to do to usher in the upcoming holiday season. The final calm before the storm.

Indeed, you sometimes have to walk backwards to find where you started. And I did that recently and it brought me right to the most underrated day of the year Thanksgiving Eve. Turkey friends the best to you on this Thursday. Turkey thoughts for all of you I hope today. Glad you are all here enjoying the winter. Have a great Jumping January!

I found myself missing Christmas yesterday. I knew at some point it would start "hitting" me as I venture farther into the long January. We were going to take the outside lights and decorations down this weekend, but it looks like now that won't happen because we have another snowstorm that is on the way. I also want to make sure the lights are dry when I put them in the tubs.

I kind of feel like after a few more weeks of winter, I will be ready to start hardcore wishing for Spring. For so many reasons, lol.

Have a great day!

So much truth. I complain if it’s too cold or too hot (usually the latter), but there’s nothing I can do about it, so might as well try to look for the bright side. That sure would make my summer much more tolerable.

Now I’m daydreaming about Thanksgiving Eve. Gosh, is there any other day on the calendar that’s so perfect? Unless you’re doing some last minute shopping for your Thanksgiving Day meal, it’s like the most relaxing day, full of anticipation about what’s to come. I like to think of it as the rest of the country is teetering on the brink of the Christmas season.

I really love the entire week so much, but Thanksgiving Eve is special.

Thanksgiving Eve is a very special day indeed. One of the BEST!

It happens to all of us at times!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 321
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 295
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 234

Happy Double Digits January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 321 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 295 days left until November, and 234 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone arriving in less than 2 weeks on Tom Turkey Day #2. It is Friday friends so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!

What was the first character balloon in the Macy's Parade?
Answer:
Felix the Cat

Interesting. I wonder how he was the first. Was he the only one in that parade? Or just the first one in a line of many? I have never been to the Macy’s Parade and I’m not a fan of big, crowded events but that is one event I think would be fun to attend. But then I think it would make for a difficult rush of a commute to get all the way home to cook and get ready for all the food. Turkey friends the best to you on this Friday. I hope your week has been going well. And I hope it goes well right through your Friday. The best to you as we navigate our winter season here with cold, wind and some places getting snow. Have a great Double Digits January!

Tim Babb just did an episode about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade back in November. Ironically, he talked about the Felix the Cat balloon, and apparently while it was ONE of the first, it was not THE first. So which balloon was THE first? I can’t remember.
