Happy Next To Last Day Of May! Today folks we move along and see that we have 181 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 155 days left until November, and 94 days to go until The Bers. We move along in this Summer Sweatfest of ours with our next milestone arriving on Sunday which is when the Arrival of June takes place. It’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!
In 1705, the town of Colchester in the US state of Connecticut postponed its Thanksgiving celebrations for a week because they couldn't make pumpkin pie due to a lack of molasses (a key ingredient in the dish). Pumpkin pie is just THAT important!
Can you imagine postponing Thanksgiving? I vaguely recall some towns in my area postponing Halloween one time when there was terrible weather. I don’t recall how that worked though. And I don’t think my town officially did it. I just can’t imagine pushing Thanksgiving back to December. Can you? Turkey friends I hope you are doing well here on this Friday. Our city has "canceled" Halloween before, but I don't think it was really "official" as there were still people out Trick Or Treating, even during the pandemic. There has been times that they have "officially" locally changed the date on Halloween because of bad weather. It seems to be a recent thing, because I remember as a kid going out when it has been both freezing cold and raining, etc.
Can't imagine postponing Thanksgiving though!

Happy May Finale! Today folks we move along and see that we have 180 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 154 days left until November and 93 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving tomorrow. It will be the Arrival of June and the start of the 3-months of summer. It’s Saturday folks so time for our Quiet Weekend Period Part 1 of 2. That is big. Looking forward to it and I do have a busy day here around home base. That’s ok with me. A laid-back type of day but busy. Just a good reason to be home. Turkey friends I hope your week has gone well so far and that it continues that way into the weekend. Lots of good stuff I hope you will enjoy this weekend. The weather here today isn’t great but hopefully tomorrow is going to be better. It should be and I’m heading to the city then so I’m looking forward to it. But right now, I’m focused on the task at hand today. Getting stuff done and yet enjoying the day. I like going to go food shopping. Laundry? I am ok with it. Washing dishes? Ok. Shoveling snow? No thanks. No wonder I don’t like winter too much. This is about the best weather I think we've ever had to finish out May. The high is only 67 degrees, and tonight gets in the 40's. Tomorrow the SweatFest officially starts. I'm honestly excited. I say let it rip because I know that we will be going through the last season before THE BERS are back. And all of our favorite stuff is then!
Only problem lately here is too many cloudy/rainy days!

Happy June Arrives! Today folks we move along and see that we have 179 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 153 days left until November and 92 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving here today. It is the Arrival of June. Wow. The 3 months of summer begins. Pretty incredible isn’t it? Our next milestone will take place on Wednesday with our 150-Day Marker till November. Pretty awesome. It’s Sunday folks so it’s time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. We are here folks. June. How’s it feel? It feels awesome to me. I’m heading to the city to begin our Summer Sunday’s for our Sunday Group that does so many amazing and fun things all year long. It’s just such a great time now to get a fresh new start with tons to look forward to this summer. Although my heart will always be in Autumn I absolutely love summer and appreciate it greatly. Lots of days off this summer spread around. Mixing in a handful of work from homes and really just enjoying the calmness of the summer season. It’s not a hectic time of year like the holiday season. Because I am a spoiled brat, sometimes, I ordered the turkey tureen , from QVC about a week ago. It was on sale for over half off and free shipping, so I ordered it. It came yesterday and put me in such a Thanksgiving mood. I wanted to use it as a kitchen table centerpiece from now until then, but cooler heads prevailed and I put it away.

We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving the day after tomorrow. Some people call the day after tomorrow Wednesday (me included). It will be the 150-Day Marker till November. Talk about big. It will be huge. It’s Monday friends so time for our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. Folks we have 25 weeks remaining until Thanksgiving Week. We are officially into the 2nd half of our Weekly Countdown. Can you believe that? Turkey friends I hope your weekend was awesome. And I hope you are enjoying your Monday. It’s a brand-new week and many of us feel we are in the summer season now. And the heat/humidity appropriately is coming here this week. The a/c will be needed. Shorts and flip flops will be around and people will be using their pools. If you are a fan of summer then you really love this time of year. It's been a really wet Spring here too. Wettest I can remember for a long time. It rained 11 inches here in May. That's a lot for us!
Looking forward to summer like weather for a bit. Hopefully the rain will lessen!
