DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 35
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 9

Happy Awesome Autumn! Today folks we move along and see that we have 35 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 9 days to go until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our final Tom Turkey Day arriving here today. It’s hard to believe friends but this is our #11th Tom Turkey Day of the Thread. The next time we reach a Tom Turkey Day it’s TURKEY DAY also known as Thanksgiving Day. Our next milestone will be when our 2nd countdown disappears, and we reach the month of Thanksgiving: November. It’s coming friends in 9 days. It’s Thursday folks so time for our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below!

Today is our Final Tom Turkey Day in this thread. Rich came up with the idea, and it’s been fun the last few years doing this. I’m not even close to ready to write this thread off. We have a long way to go still (over a full month). But I think it’s really a cool idea we have adopted in this thread. Once a month sort of just acknowledging this is the “date” of the month that would be Thanksgiving Day. Pretty cool. And for the final time we can say that today.

Turkey friends enjoy your Thursday. Have a great Awesome Autumn!

For all intents and purposes, this could be the final Tom Turkey day of the year. Our Tom Turkey day in December would fall on 12/25. Christmas doesn't share time with anyone.

I have enjoyed the Tom Turkey Days as I do every year, and how they give us that little bit of monthly Thanksgiving. Counting down all year long might not feel the same without that little bit of flair / tribute each month.

Have a great day!

Yep it's funny it will fall on Christmas Day this year...we'll still acknowledge but of course our minds will be fully on Christmas!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 34
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 8

Happy Spooky TGIF! Today folks we move along and see that we have 34 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 8 days left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving 1 week from Saturday. It will be the Arrival of November and the end of our 2nd Countdown. It will be our 2nd destination of 3. It’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!

  • What "gourmet" meal did Charlie Brown serve the Peanuts gang in "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving"?
  • Answer: Toast, popcorn, pretzels and jellybeans.
I didn’t remember that but to me that sounds kind of tasty, however, I try to stay away from too much chewy candy like jellybeans to avoid any big teeth problems. But I used to love skittles, jellybeans and starbursts. Oh, and tootsie rolls but as I grew up, I realized these things probably are killing my teeth lol. Turkey friends I hope you enjoy the final day of the week here on this Friday and that your week has been going well so far. And I hope you enjoy our Fun Fact today. Have a great Spooky TGIF!

I missed Tom Turkey Day. :(

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 33
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 7

Happy Final Weekend Of October! Today folks we move along and see that we have 33 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 7 days to go until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving in 1 week. It will be the Arrival of November which will be our 2nd of 3 destinations. Unbelievable. It’s Saturday folks so time for the 1st half of our Quiet Weekend Period. I hope everyone is enjoying their October. I have to tell you mine has been crazy but amazing too. It’s hard for some people to understand but I truly love the Halloween/Fall Season more than the Christmas Season, in a way. Don’t yell at me lol. I am not sure how to explain it, but I think the way it lasts longer and the build to it has more time than the Christmas Season does. It’s something I’ve given a lot of thought to. You’re out in the stores on the 4th of July and might see signs of Halloween nearly 4 months in advance. And I think being part of my Sunday Group we do have fun for Christmas Season and do fun stuff but during the Fall/Halloween Season it is our personal favorite activities, and we have talked about that throughout the year which makes it even more special being here. The best to you my turkey friends. Have a great Final Weekend Of October!

I didn't realize it was the last weekend of this month until you mentioned that. Wow time is flying.

I understand what you mean about the fall being your favorite and it lasts longer. Sometimes I wish Christmas was at the end of January so you would have a longer Christmas season. It's the biggest holiday and you only get it for a few weeks. But lucky for us...we can have it all year long ;)

It's coming way too fast. I blinked and September was gone. Now October is coming to an end.

I've been very busy with Santa's Elves Use Amazon this year.

I don't know if any of you Thanksgiving friends have the Basket Brigade near you, but it is a very worthy organization. You can buy Thanksgiving supplies, put them in a box (available around your county) and drop the box off a week before Thanksgiving. The basket will go to those in need. You can also nominate someone in need to receive a box.

Last year our County (Volusia, Florida) delivered over 5,000 boxes. It's one way to make a difference and put food on a table.

Happy weekend to those who work!!!

That'd make January a lot more fun too!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 32
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 6

Happy Halloween Build! Today folks we move along and see that we have 32 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 6 days left until The Bers. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone arriving on Saturday with the arrival of the month of November. Our 2nd of 3 destinations in this thread will arrive then. It’s Sunday folks so time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. I hope your weekend is going well so far. It’s been a good one here and I have Monday off for another long weekend. I think I’ve had too many this year, but I think that’s what I’ve learned to enjoy is a bit more frequent breaks as opposed to taking long vacations. Just my personal preference I think it has become over the years. It’s another nice day here today. And I’ve really been enjoying the autumn weather. It’s a little cooler than normal but nothing extreme and yet I feel fine about it. I think your body just adapts to it. I’ll never forget several years ago one morning it was negative 15 degrees with the wind, and I was so cold. The next day it was positive 15 degrees (with no wind) so it felt 30 degrees warmer, and I was sweating outside with the temperature at 15. It’s all relative as they say. Turkey friends enjoy your Sunday. Have a great Halloween Build!

That'd make January a lot more fun too!

I try and keep my "Big" Christmas tree up for the majority of January only because January feels so long and dark when all of the lights in the neighborhood steadily come down by the weekend after New Year's.

Some times I say I'm going to leave it up into February because February can have its doldrum moments too. Maybe this year is the year?

I tried it one year but for me it started to become almost a sad reminder!
