Thanksgiving 2026 Thread

The Christmas Tree is up here. Holly and Abigale finished decorating it today. And yesterday we got an email at work about the days that the office is closed / closing early for Thanksgiving. Knowing those things were coming up vs seeing it made "official" is really different. Good feelings. We're so close, friends....

Michelle doesn't know it yet, but I'm decorating the den for Christmas (including MY tree) on November 1st. I'm getting very excited.
 
DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 27
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 2

Happy Halloween Eve! Today folks we move along and see that we have 27 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 2 days left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone set to arrive the day after tomorrow when November Arrives. It will be the end of our 2nd countdown with only 1 remaining after that. It’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!​

I would have guessed about 20 years so that sounds right. I’ve heard it many times over the years. My brother has had a few Friendsgiving’s before. He liked them. It’s good to have a 2nd Thanksgiving, isn’t it? I wouldn’t cut out the original with family but adding the friends one gives you a 2nd chance to have a good time with friends. The best to you my turkey friends on this Friday. I hope your week is going well and that you are excited for this big weekend ahead here in the middle of The Bers as Halloweekend approaches. Little more than 24 hours now in these parts and the next major attention is going to turn to Turkey Day. I mentioned it the other day, but seeing the email come in about the days that we were going to be closed the week of Thanksgiving really hammered home where we are in the year!

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 1

Happy Halloween! Today folks we move along and see that we have 26 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 1 day left until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone and destination set to arrive tomorrow on Sunday. It will be when November Arrives. We will have reached OUR month in this thread. It’s Saturday folks so time for the 1st half of our Quiet Weekend Period. It will be mostly a fun weekend here, I hope. Lots of stuff to do but also some time to have fun and get into the Halloween spirit. Always a fun holiday and I know for many the season culminates today but with my Sunday Group doing activities through the 1st part of November the season for me really lasts through November 8th. I’ll take it as I feel like I’m getting more out of it that way. But of course, I look forward to the brand-new 2027 Halloween Thread to launch and building up for a whole year back to this unique and special day that comes only once a year. Gobble Gobble my turkey friends as after today our holiday is up next. And that’s very exciting to me. And I know it is to you all as well. I wish you well this Saturday and that you get some good candy today. Enjoy it my friends. Have a great Happy Halloween!​

On Thanksgiving Day what kind of dressing do you like? Not salad dressing. I mean dressing made of cornbread, chicken broth etc. I like it homemade. But I have heard people adds pecan, cranberries and apple to theirs. I like mine with chicken. I had a aunt one time added oysters to her and I could not eat it. It had that fishy taste to it.

I make both traditional and cornbread. Prior to moving to Florida, I never heard of cornbread stuffing but made right, it's very tasty.

Happy November Arrives! Today folks we move along and see that we have 25 days remaining until Thanksgiving. That’s it? Yet that is it. We’re in November friends. Our month of Thanksgiving is here. We have reached the Milestone and Destination of reaching the month of November. Unbelievable to be back home in our month in this thread. Our next milestone will be when we reach the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving. I’m not ready for it so thankfully it’s still over 2 weeks away from now. We move along in our Awesome Autumn on this Sunday which means it is time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. And The Sunday Group will be heading to our 5th annual “Pure Terror Park” after we go to our dinner place near by that we found several years ago. It’s always fun and special. And I’m thankful we have our Halloween and Fall activities continuing into the month of November. Don’t want to give that up so fast. Too bad we don’t have turkey or Thanksgiving activities to do. The best to you my turkey friends as we are now in the month of stuffing, gravy, turkey and more. The best time of year for many is here or about to arrive. The holiday season will be felt shortly worldwide. Gobble Gobble. Have a great November Arrives!​
