Happy Week Till Christmas! Today folks we move along and see that we have 343 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 318 days left until November and 257 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Happy Holidays with our next milestone arriving on Sunday. It will be the Arrival of Winter. It’s felt like winter this entire month but yesterday it felt nicer (or not as bad). It’s Thursday folks so time for our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. It stands at 49 days. I smile. The journey has truly begun as we have moved a full week out of that 50 marker. Turkey friends I hope that your week is going well. A lot going on here at work, at home, and holiday stuff is going overboard but that’s what makes this time of year very special. I think it would wear us down too much if it was all the time but for now it feels like a fun time and just such a special time that you wish you could bottle it all up. It’s the best feeling in the world and I hope all of you are getting the most out of it. What brought us all of this? THANKSGIVING! That’s why we have this thread. It’s not just what Thanksgiving is (which is the best day overall of the year) but what it brings (the holiday season). The best to you my turkey friends on this Thursday. Happy Week Till Christmas! Today folks we move along and see that we have 343 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 318 days left until November and 257 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Happy Holidays with our next milestone arriving on Sunday. It will be the Arrival of Winter. It’s felt like winter this entire month but yesterday it felt nicer (or not as bad). I witheld my vote on this one.
I have been working on trying to perfect some turkey rolls a relative used to make years ago. Its hard to find the correct sliced turkey thats not the "turkey roll" or made from questionable things and molded into a turkey shape..lol I did locate some but you really need to get it cut when they hit the biggest section of the turkey breast. The object is to roll up stuffing in each slice and warm it up in gravy. The cheap turkey is a no-go since it picks up a bad taste. Price is also a consideration as 2 lbs of that turkey was the same as a whole Butterball that day on sale.

Pretty much everything we know about the first Thanksgiving was written in a letter by a colonist named Edward Winslow. Written to someone he refers to as a “loving and old friend,” the letter is quite lengthy, and he touches on Thanksgiving only briefly.
I would like to write a love letter to Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the reason we are where we are right now at the most special days of the year leading to Christmas. This is where it’s at folks. The build. It’s here. And I am excited about it. Each day feels a little more special than the previous. And everything feels just perfect right now. We move along in our Happy Holidays with our next milestone arriving tomorrow with the Arrival of Winter. It’s felt like winter for a few weeks now, but it won’t officially begin until Sunday. It’s Saturday folks so time for the 1st half of our Quiet Weekend Period. With this being Christmas Weekend it’s not quiet at all. There is a lot to be done and prepare for the big week and the Dynamic Duo that is in front of us. It should be a lot of fun though getting ready for it despite the work that is involved. And we’ll make plenty of time to relax too and watch Christmas shows. I mean that’s’ what this weekend and coming week is about isn’t it? What a special feeling. It is a very special time here folks. You can’t deny it and you can’t deny the fact that Thanksgiving brought us to where we are. The best to you my turkey friends. I wish you well this Saturday. I hope you are doing well and enjoying your time as much as you can with family and friends. Don’t let the holiday stress get to you much. 1/3 cup diced red onion
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup white grape juice
1/2 cup Jack Daniel’s Black Label Whiskey
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer till it reduces by a 1/3rd. I make mine by the gallon.
My family would literally sit around the table drinking coffee cups of JD sauce..lol

Happy Closing In On Christmas! Today folks we move along and see that we have 340 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 315 days left until November, and 254 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Happy Holidays with our next milestone arriving today with the Arrival of Winter! Well, I’m happy winter is here because now at least when it’s cold I can say “it’s just winter.” Before this we’ve had plenty of cold in “late autumn” this year. Our next milestone will arrive on Christmas Day with the arrival of the 250-Day Marker till The Bers (while we are still technically in The Bers too). It’s Sunday friends so time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. We are in a special spot right now and I’m feeling it. Are you? I’m motivated. Cleaning, wrapping, baking, errands, food shopping and more. They are part of this holiday season. And we are in a very special spot right now. There is nothing more you can ask for than to be here right before Christmas. Turkey friends we are here because of you. Because of Thanksgiving. That’s what brought us the Christmas Season and led us to the most special spot on the calendar as we are just days away from Christmas now. It is hard to believe we are here but it’s the truth. Dont try using non name brand Soy and Teriyaki or grape juice. They will give it a aftertaste.
I don't want to do anything to rush through the Christmas Season. But one positive that I can take away from the season coming to an end next week, is that I will feel again like I can fully put my energy into chasing the counts again and not feel like I am wishing away Christmas.
