DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 322
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 297
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 236

Happy Jovial January! Today folks we move along and see we have 322 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 297 days left until November and 236 days tog o until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone arriving 2 weeks from today with Tom Turkey Day #2. It’s going to be a big one. That’s Rich’s milestone as he’s a big fan of Tom Turkey. He created it. It’s Thursday folks so time for our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving. It stands now at 46 weeks. I smile and think about Thanksgiving. Don’t you? It just is the best day ever. But I am trying to make today the best day ever or at least the best day that I can. And I hope you do the same my turkey friends as we try to stay the course and enjoy our days daily as much as we all can. And count our blessings each day. Turkey friends I wish you well on this Thursday. It is the best when you think about turkey, stuffing and gravy on a Thursday. It doesn’t have to be in The Bers. As it just feels right any time of year on a Thursday if you ask me. The best to all of you here as we expect a bit of milder weather here, which is really a nice treat after a long and cold stretch. Gobble Gobble turkey friends. Have a great Jovial January!

Long day today. I got my Jeep this morning, and then we drove to the hospital and had our appointment and found out that Holly most likely is going to have surgery. Don't worry! It's an outpatient surgery. I don't know the exact date yet, but we believe it will be in the next 2 - 3 weeks.

I'm glad it's going to be soon and we get it out of the way and move on to other fun things! I've convinced myself that this Holiday season is going to be the best ever. Nothing is going to get in our way!

I keep thinking about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade this year. It’s the 100th anniversary. I can’t help but wonder what all they have planned. It’s got to be a huge celebration, right?
I sure hope so!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 321
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 296
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 235

Happy January TGIF! Today folks we move along and see that we have 321 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 296 days left until November and 235 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone set to arrive in less than 1 week from now when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. It’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!

Critics pick a cartoon as a Thanksgiving movie classic

According to various critics and audience members alike, on Rotten Tomatoes, a favorite Thanksgiving movie is A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. Producer Lee Mendelson says he and Charles Schulz disagreed about a scene in which Snoopy’s pal Woodstock ate turkey because he didn’t think a bird would eat another bird. He was overruled, and the scene stayed in.

I think that it is an underrated choice for sure. When we think of Charlie Brown holiday specials we think more about Halloween and Christmas. But the Thanksgiving one is awesome. And I used to watch it a lot as a kid growing up. I think that I need to get back into it more maybe in the offseason. Have a great January TGIF!

I agree on this one. I don't think about a lot of Cartoons when I think of Thanksgiving.

Lots of more Halloween and Christmas cartoons. I enjoy several of the South Park Holiday episodes.

Thanksgiving in our family is more along the lines of watching things like Lord of The Rings, or "Star Wars".

Have a great Friday!

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is an annual watch for us. We always laugh at the part where Woodstock eats the turkey because, yes, it is low-key cannibalism.

The Mayflower Voyagers is another Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special, and it is a sleeper hit. Unfortunately, thanks to Apple buying up the rights to Peanuts, it’s not broadcast anymore, and it’s hard to find these days.

I think I only saw that once!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 320
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 295
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 234

Happy Double Digits January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 320 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 295 days to go until November and 234 days left until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone arriving in a dozen days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. It’s Saturday folks so time for the 1st half of our Quiet Weekend Period. Are you ready for it? I am. I love Saturdays. I always have. I always say it’s my favorite day of the week but then I have the Sunday Group who gives me the highlight of my week. And then during the week I love going to work. And then I love going home to take Damian to the park and spending time with him. I say this because the Thanksgiving Thread when it comes to it is about being thankful for what you have in your life daily (not just on Thanksgiving Day). But of course, I love Thanksgiving. Who doesn’t? Nobody in this thread doesn’t of course. Why else would we be here? Turkey friends I hope you are doing well on this Saturday, you count what you’re thankful for today and you are enjoying your return to some normalcy. That reminds me I need to get my laundry on (I guess not all normalcy is good). The best to you today. Have a great Double Digits January!

Still got one count in here in the 300's! Get that thing outta here lol.

Holly is going to have surgery soon (in the next few weeks), and I will immediately start thinking of the upcoming holidays to get me through it. It feels like the last two years have had drama affecting my enjoyment of the holidays:

2024 - (Learned of pregnancy in September - entire Bers were spent with anxiety, worry etc)
2025 - 1st half of year was consumed by pregnancy worries. Jason born happy / healthy in May 2025, 2nd half of year OK.
Christmas 2025 - My brother in law in and out of hospital. Christmas effectively "canceled" except for very small Christmas morning here at our house, family drama with Mom's new boyfriend

So you can see, I want to get any trouble out of the way early, so I have the entire year to build and enjoy!! Have a great day!

It's not Thanksgiving until I watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.
I agree but I am a bit nostalgic for the days when it was broadcast once (maybe twice) and it was an event on Thanksgiving Eve!

I remember a tv station playing all of the Rocky's on Thanksgiving Day, and I think it might have continued on Black Friday too. It might have been the original binge watch!

So thankful for all my friends in this thread.
Thank you, @Edge612, for your daily commitment and encouragement!
Hear, Hear! @Rich is so right, I appreciate the Thanksgiving Thread and it makes each week of my year better, thanks to @Edge612 !

I hope everything with Holly's surgery and recovery goes smoothly, with two kids nothing is easy!

I also love that your wish is to get any trouble out of the way early instead of wishing all troubles away. So practical and so sweet and in line with taking control of 2026 and the holidays! I have been hit with sickness 3 of the last 5 Novembers and all I can do is try my best to stay ahead and stay healthy.

We can do it!

Happy Saturday all! Eatting a turkey sub as we haul butt towards Oklahoma. Gps says we arrive at 8ish. The girl is as nervous as a cat in a dog kennel right now, wearing a path into the truck floor.
