** 6 Days**

Good Morning Friends! There is a "Halloween" marathon starting in an hour on AMC. Must see TV for me, since it is raining off and on here, and colder, so there won't be anything going on outside today.

It's a good day to work on some plans for Jack O Lantern day as well. I might make a run up to the farmers market to get some Cider.

I hope whatever you all get into today, have a great October Sunday!

6 days! Wow. It's flying. We watched some of the AMC programming last night too - The Shining and then the newer version of Carrie which I had never seen.

I am looking at a forecast with a 50% chance of snow tomorrow, but right now the forecast for Saturday is a high of 57 and sunny. Fingers crossed. How is the weather for Halloween looking for all of you?

Our forecast looks near perfect for Trick-or-Treating.

44 degrees, Sunny, 10% chance of rain, light winds. So definitely on the chilly side for us, but that's usual.

On Halloween our projected forecast is a high of 70 and a low of 42. So basically all over the place. Since we aren't trick or treating in the traditional sense, it doesn't affect us much, but will still be close to perfect weather for our first Halloween "Pumpkin egg hunt"!

EDIT: I just had a thought that perhaps I'll incorporate the pumpkin egg hunt in each of our Jack o' Lantern Days next year! I'll bet the kids would love that.

**5 DAYS**

We are in the home stretch now to Halloween. A mere 5 days are all that is left now. I have to admit, this is just a tiny bit saddening.

I am getting the exact same "feels" that I get the week of Christmas. Funny how that works, isn't it? We count down and count down all year and then when we finally get "here", it's just the tiniest bit of a let down. But that's okay, thats how we know something is special. I'd be worried more if I didn't get these feelings at all. We have a lot to look forward to in 2021 especially the Holiday Season, because things should be a lot better, and much more closer to "normal".

SyFy is back on track with Jason movies tonight. AMC has another night of Michael Myers movies. Both fantastic choices!

Love that idea. I think we can incorporate some really fun things to keep Halloween all year long. My granddaughter is dressing up like a plague doctor for Halloween, and we decided we could do a calendar of a year of the plague doctor. The plague doctor does Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, Valentine's, St Patrick's, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, 4th of July, Summer, Fall and Halloween. With the way this whole Covid thing is going, it would be a money maker.

Yes! We have a wide range of things that will keep the fall / Halloween spirit going in 2021. And that is what I hoped for Jack O Lantern day(s), that we would put our own individual spin on it to make it special and how we needed it to be for our families.

For me, I'm all about the ambience. So the sights & sounds of Halloween / Fall are a big thing for us. Pumpkin scented / fall scented wax warmers & candles. Horror movies playing in the background. Electric Jack O Lantern turned on. Sitting down for the movie marathon with appropriately themed snacks - Apple Cider, pumpkin cookies, etc!

I had a lot of cool stuff that i ended up adding as I went along earlier this year, that I think now, will be "core" components of Jack O Lantern Day. Because they just made it awesome. I think our first one for 21' is going to be awesome. Just like the Rudolph Day on the 25th is always my celebratory, almost rallying cry for making it out of the longest, darkest part of my "off season", The first Jack O Lantern Day of 2021 will be much the same!

**4 Days**

Insidious, and Insidious Chapter 2 are our AMC movies for tonight! Good, solid, scary films!

I really encourage everyone to take in as much of the sights and sounds of Halloween as possible this week. The time is coming unfortunately soon, that we will miss these vibes. But we don't have to miss them too much, because Jack O Lantern day will help fill that magical holiday void that we will all be missing once the 2020 Holiday season comes to an end.

I see more and more houses decorated for Halloween when i'm out on my evening walks. It's been enjoyable to see the houses get decorated that normally don't do anything. I think it is because people want to try and make this season special, and do things they wouldn't ordinarily do. That really makes me wonder if in 2021 will people go even more all out, to celebrate the pandemic winding down / ending, considering we are only months away, possibly even sooner, than people being able to get vaccinated and countries around the world finally stamping this down to low levels...

Enjoy your Halloween Tuesday!

Went out this morning looking for a pumpkin to carve (Yeah, why so late?), and had to go in three supermarkets before finding a place that wasn't sold out of them. Skimpy crop this year, or increased interest/demand?

This was my first time in a real store since March! Traffic was about like always, everyone wearing masks. The new normal.

Mr. Punkin goes under the knife Friday afternoon, in accordance with the ancient tradition.

I didn't see as many large pumpkins on display or for sale this year, maybe it was a bad year.

I delivered my "Halloween bag" to the kids who lost their Mom this year and now live with my friend in the condo. I admire her so much for taking her three grandchildren. She is in her 60s.

I filled the bag with all kinds of yummy chocolate bars, toys, necklaces that light up in Halloween theme for the two girls, and a goofy, scary squeeze ball for the boy. I added some sun block since the kids love the pool.

My friend said they were so excited to get it. I left it on their door handle and really didn't think they would guess it was me, but they did. I think the candy gave it away because it was the same type of candy I served when we played cards.

I hope they still knock on my door. I know they're dressing up for the church Trunk or Treat and I'm so glad the church is doing this.

I didn't buy myself or Ace a costume this year. Maybe for Christmas.

We have a pumpkin patch in our town and normally you can pick-your-own right up till Halloween - with MANY pumpkins still left in the patch and not picked. This year, however, the patch was empty last week and they had to close it. Like you, I wasn't sure if it was a bad crop or increased demand.

** 3 Days**

Tonight on AMC, i will have to settle for "Seed of Chucky" and "Ghost Ship" when i get home from work tonight. Not my favorite horror movies, but not the worst, etither. I am still expecting another AMC Michael Myers Marathon, if I had to guess it will probably start on Friday and run all the way through until 12:00 AM on Sunday. EDIT: I just checked AMC's schedule, and they will continue to play "Halloween" films beginning on Friday morning, and they will run all the way until 6PM on NOVEMBER 1st.

Will we be watching Horror Movies while ringing in the 1st day of "Christmas Season" at our house? YOU BET WE WILL. And this will also coincide with the launching of the 2021 Countdown to Halloween thread, which is very awesome, IMO. It will be a fine way to start the new countdown season, IMO.

Have a great Wednesday folks!

I am loving the bats and the purple witch's hat!!!
