Good Morning Halloween Friends! TGIF! We are gearing up for a kind of cold Friday and Saturday, but then nice mild temps are returning Sunday and going forward.

Our next milestone will be in exactly one week, as we welcome 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING. That is certainly going to be exciting in here!

Have a great day, friends!

Sad to say that my lack of sleep (due to the cough and cold that I had) and my inability to function beyond anything other than a walking zombie caused me to skip out on the first JOL Day celebration this year. I'm genuinely upset, so much so that I think I'm going to have to make it up one day in February. I know there are only 28 days this month, so maybe on the 28th day I'll watch the movie "28 Days Later." Makes sense, right?

For my classic monster JOL Day schedule, I'll just adjust it to include Halfoween and start off fresh in March.

I'm sorry you were under the weather for the first JOL Day. I had the walking zombie syndrome from Halloween until Thanksgiving, I just couldn't shake it. I was bummed but I am looking forward to next November more than ever!

I dread the day I am ever too sick to partake in an MMC Special Day and do SOMETHING holiday themed, even if it was just laying in bed and listening to holiday music lol. Get well soon!

Good Morning Halloween friends! We survived the deep freeze last night, and we are warming up to near 40 today. We have very Spooky Spring like temperatures to begin tomorrow and last through this week.

Checking on our counts this morning, we are just 6 days away now from the 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING marker, and we have now entered into the SINGLE-DIGITS part leading up to the 200 DAYS TO THE BERS marker. What an amazing day it will be. I have thought for a while now about how it will feel the first morning I wake up and get to see "199" on the Bers count. It's going to be guaranteed to be a great day!

Have a great day, friends. Think some Halloween thoughts today, maybe even think some thoughts of "Spooky Spring" because once we hit that 50 day milestone there, It's going to feel like it's right around the corner, I promise you!

I like the "Walking Zombie" to describe pretty much every version of the crud that has been going through.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Welcome to the second half of the weekend! Spring like temps arrive today and will last through this week. It's going to be awesome and it's going to easily propel us another week forward to "actual" spring. I do feel deep down that we have only 3 - 4 weeks max of winter cold / threatening weather potential here.

Our next milestone will be on Friday, when we will celebrate the arrival of being only 50 DAYS to Spooky Spring. After that, coming up on Monday the 13th, we will finally be at the 200 Days To The Bers threshold. We will close out our final milestone this month on February 23rd, when we ring in 250 DAYS TO HALLOWEEN.

Have a great day today friends, if you are having Spring-like weather where you are, try and just take a few moments and mentally think about Spooky Spring. I'm starting to get so excited for that!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Monday! It's a milestone week again. Our next milestone will be on Friday when we reach just 50 Days to Spooky Spring. We are now also exactly one week from the 200 Days to The Bers milestone. I've said this a million times, but when we break that seal and we are in a 100's count to The Bers, it is going to feel crazy. I think the general consensus on these threads is that the 300's to anything feel very, very far away. The 200's are when it really starts feeling good to daydream and get excited for what is to come, and in the 100's, there's just a real buzz in the air because for some reason the 100's counts go fast. And below 100? Well then it's just crazy. Enjoy that time when it comes, friends, because once you get below 100 stuff ZOOMS by. We don't have anymore 300's counts here, we haven't had them in a while, and we have three 200's level counts (soon to be just two!), and two counts that are well below 100!

Have a great day, enjoy this Spooky Spring type weather this week if you are getting it. It's a preview of what is to come in just 50 some days!!

Yes! We have a surprisingly warm "10 day" forecast. Well, warm for us. Pushing 50s, which will hopefully eradicate the snow. Had a pumpkin beer last night to celebrate. Two to go, but saving one for Halfoween! ..now I just need a reason for the other one....

I have redubbed this month as Zombie-ary based on my decision to watch "28 Days Later" on February 28th, as well as to reflect the fact that I began this month with the "walking zombie" syndrome. That was a great name, by the way, @DecemberisComing.

Now I'm wondering if I should add more zombie-themed celebrations to this month. Am I taking this too far? I know it's not Spooky Spring yet, but adding a month to our Halloween festivities that is dedicated to zombies just seems like a lot of fun.

A very good suggestion! As I tell everyone all the time here in this thread, I am not “in charge” or anything like that. I just post the daily countdowns. Everybody can do whatever they want as far as their own personal celebrations and what not.

I enjoy that community wise, we seem to be United on JOL Days and Spooky Spring, and maybe to some degree, “Fall Preseason”. But even those individual days are up to the individual.

I personally think that February 28 is a perfect day to watch 28 Days Later. And so I shall.

It stands out to me that February and June are the only months of the year that we do not have a “dedicated” Halloween / Fall tribute day, other than maybe playing a song or doing a scented candle on milestone days.

Let’s continue this exploration tomorrow. I was going to wait until later in the year to propose something, but this happened organically. This will be my Halloween/Fall thought Tuesday!!

My question is this; "Is it even possible to take anything Halloween related too far?" I. Don't. Think. So.

Morning Halloween Fans! My Halloween Thought for this Tuesday is I'm wondering if it's just me or does it seem like there are more horror/scary shows out these days in the movies than there used to be? And I wonder why that is. Have a great day!
I've noticed that it seems like a lot of Horror movies are coming out over the winter / early Spring. I'm not really sure why. Seems like it would be more "seasonal" to release them in late summer / early Fall, or even in October!

Good Morning Halloween friends! Always having a Monday come and go is a good feeling. And we still have most of the "full" 1st week of February awaiting us. You can see that our next milestone will be in THREE(!!) days when we welcome in 50 DAYS TO SPOOKY SPRING. That's going to be a big one in here, and I hope everyone that is part of this thread/community can be here to celebrate with us.

We had a good conversation yesterday in here about some "extra" things that we could do in addition to our normal Spooky milestone days, Spooky Spring, JOL Days, and "Fall Pre-season" etc. Prior to @The_Escalation bringing up that February 28th is a great day to watch "28 Days Later", I have thought / realized that for a while now, that out of the entire year February doesn't really have any special "Spooky Day" outside of milestones and what not. And neither does June. By the time JOL Days are over, we are back in "Fall Pre-season" and headed straight for "The Bers". It seems like "Zombie-ary" on February 28th seems like a "no brainer", so my Tuesday Halloween thought today is this:

Do we "need" to have a Jack O Lantern Day in June?

June is an exciting month already with Halfway to Christmas which is a big celebration here in this household. Could June 30th potentially have an "honorary" Jack O Lantern Day, or something to that effect?

I personally never get tired of having special days for ANY holiday, so I am content / at peace with whatever the decision is, whether we vote "yes" for another proper JOL Day, or "no", because we have enough Halloween / Fall tribute stuff already. This is how democracy works in this thread!

Have a great day, friends!
