hmmm opera is needed.....

the surgery aria.....
Hey! Material for a whole new chapter.

Good Morning, Everybody whether you be whole or with components missing.

The recovery continues and I feel noticeably better today - getting up and around better. Have only needed 2 Hydrocodone tablets so far, both right before going to bed (can't miss that sleep now, can I?)

Got my A/C replacement estitmate.
I can put $1,200 into repairing my 25 year old inefficient unit or $3,900 into a new one.
(Personally, the latter makes more sense to me.)

Our count:
Days to the Season: 164
Days to Christmas Day: 206
Now UNDER a week away from the 200-day Christmas window.
Wowee!

Overcast/damp weather continues here and is predicted to do so through the remainder of the week.
At least the lack of sun is appreciated since I am without an A/C until Monday.
We currently stand at just under 75 degrees.

Today is my father's 85th birthday. He has slowed down alot but hangs in there along with his dog Fox.
My sister, nieces and I are taking him to McCormick & Schmicks for supper (or maybe even the Shispering Pines!).

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Folks!

^ Happy Birthday to your dad, Crown! cheesy

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I got a speeding ticket a couple weeks ago. I had just exited off of the interstate doing around 75 MPH onto a regular 2 lane road. There was no traffic and I wasn't paying close enough attention, but I had accelerated back up to 75 MPH in a 55 MPH zone! Sure enough, the policeman was there to write me a ticket. Luckily, my mom just retired from being the Clerk of the Superior Court in this county, and she still knows the clerk in that county. She made a call for me and got it thrown out. Whew! I'm not advocating flaunting the law or taking advantage of knowing the right people, but I really have learned my lesson about watching my speed after coming off of the interstate. A $180 fine and increased car insurance wouldn't have made it more clear, only more painful for my family.

Now that that burden is lifted, I'm feeling better. I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Brad, that's great that you didn't have to pay that ticket... honest mistake! We've all been there and at least you didn't have to shell out that $180!

Looks like we're pulling out of the deal on the house. My husband made the decision because the prospect of getting water in the basement with every rain is not something he wants to deal with. The more I think about it, the more I know it's the right decision! I'm just so anxious to find a house before the baby comes in August!! It will happen, I know!

some people just don't appreciate the Holiday Season.

I feel sorry for those people because they just don't know what they are missing.

Cake baking day here. I have 4 cakes to bake, one is 4 layers and the other 3 are 3 layers each. Glad it is not going to be to warm today.

Have a great day everyone!! cheesy

Have fun making your cakes!!!!!!!!

I know just how you feel, but it sounds like this might be a problem in the future, and the owners sounded a little sneaky by not telling you about the flood zone.

I believe you're doing the right thing. Keep looking, the right one is out there!cheesy

Sounds like a wise choice. Had we known about the flooding issues on our first house we would not have bought it. For months after our first flood I would get very nervous at the mention of heavy rain. You do not need that worry especially with little kids. To bad to are not closer to me. There is a nice house for sale on my street..we are about 40 minutes south of Philly.

shocking news for coffe drinkers!

Coffee drinkers don't gain alertness

The first cup of coffee for java lovers doesn't actually boost alertness, British researchers say following a study of 379 volunteers who were given caffeine or a placebo.
While regular consumption may feel beneficial in terms of alertness, that isn’t actually the case, said study author Peter Rogers of the department of experimental psychology at the University of Bristol.
"That kick in alertness we get from our first coffee or tea in the morning is in fact just the removal of the fatiguing effects of caffeine withdrawal, which occurred from overnight abstinence," Rogers said.

And all this time we thought Binger was affected by coffee, but now we know the truth! cheesy

I can only imagine your anxiety!!!

We are looking in Montgomery County, PA, so similar distance. We would look in NJ but we'd like to be closer to family.

I agree with everyone else, that is probably the best choice.

Well it is a humid day here in central indy. We got some rain this morning and were supposed to get more this afternoon but it looks like it might break up before it gets here. I don't have much planned for today. Mom goes for her first physical therapy session this afternoon so I will probaly tag along just in case she is hurting to much to drive home. I also need to plan out where I am going to go work next week. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good afternoon, everyone!!

I had a meeting this morning and could not post. Not a bad day in Ottawa. There were chances of thunderstorms but those do not seem too serious. My original contract for this job with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges was supposed to end on the last week of June, however, I have been told that they want to keep me for the rest of the summer. This is even though I've informed them about my two week vacation. Awesome!! A colleague was just hired by Health Canada and will be leaving the office in a couple weeks. I am supposed to fill in for them. Looks like my workload may be pretty hefty, but it is work and they are paying me well!

164 days until the Season? 206 until Christmas?! I like this count! It's exciting!

We're now on the other side toward the weekend! Have a great Wednesday, everyone!!

Happy 85th Birthday to your dad, Crown! Here's hoping for many more!

judesmama, a wise choice on the house. It's too bad that your hopes were dashed but I am sure that your most ideal option will come soon enough. Keep looking hard!!

We know who to look up going through your town in case we get a ticket. Glad it all worked out for you!

Sorry to hear but that means something better will come along!

Well darn! Explains why my mind is still in a fog after coffee.

I hope your mom does well.

Hi guys! JayIsh here...LOOOOOONNNNGGGG time! So happy to see the torch carried...I miss you all more than you know...And to think that we are more than halfway now...well...fantastic...Crown! Glad to hear you are getting better! My co-worker had that done a year or two ago and she's never missed it!

Binger...did you see that blasphemous comment about coffee and its effects as far as alertness goes???

Happy June everyone!

Jay

Interesting.
But can't use it in Bing's case - no overnight abstinence.

Blasphemer, this Peter Rogers! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest his armpits! (Please extend my apologies to Carl, Crown!)
