Christmas Countdown - 2010

AAARGGGHHHHH!

bad news... kind of..... well i hope not.....

every year, mid november, our local village put up a beautiful christmas tree. the village association dress up as victorians and sing hymns around the tree, then santa turns up and switches the christmas tree lights on. everybody receives a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie and then all the children go to see santa in his grotto. it's a fantastic event and all the local kids absolutely love it. anyway, just been informed that it might not go ahead this year due to government cuts :-? the village may not be allocated the money to keep up with this fabulous tradition that the kids so look forward to. what a shame, i'm so disappointed. hopefully they'll be given the money but i have a horrible feeling they won't.

it's a tradition of mine and my families to go to this event every year, it's an unsettling feeling to think we can't do it this year.

I had that happen to us. We use to go to Turner Falls every other year and stay in a cabin around Christmas time. They would decorate the whole park and play Christmas music. The cabin we stayed at sat on top of a hill overlooking the streams of water and Christmas lights. We would sit on the deck, cookout on the grill, look at the beautiful lights and listen to the music. They decided to cut back and quit doing it several years ago. I miss it so much!

You are SO lucky. I thought we were going to continue the fall weather. But, NO, the temperatures are high AGAIN! At least, though, they are cool in the morning and SOME of the evenings. Hurry, fall, winter, and Christmas weather!!!

Yes indeed, yet another week has almost passed and we have passed under a month to Christmas Season 2010. In fact, as of tomorrow, we will be down to a scant 4 weeks to go!!

Downright chilly this morning with my thermometer reading 48 degrees at this hour.
With a prediction of 72 for this afternoon and virtually no chance of rain, it should develop into an excellent day.

Good morning everyone.....home today. Today is our 10th wedding anniversary so I am taking lunch to my hubby at work! Right now I am enjoying the forums, my coffee and listening to MMC Radio!

Last night we took the kids up to the local fire house as they had an open house for fire prevention week. The kids had a blast checking out everything and I got to catch up with old friends as i used to be a member there. Had to give it up when the kids came, just did not have the time to devote to both while still working full time. I still miss it but do not regret my decision...my kids come first.

Well off to refill my coffee and check out the rest of the forum.

Hey Everyone. Thank you all for the Birthday wishes. I had a nice day. I am over my Mom's and only on the computer for a quick minute. My computer at home is down. I work tomorrow but then am off all next week. I hope our computer is fixed or else I will be having some major MMC withdraw since I wont be able to get on until the 25th of October. Have a great Thursday everyone! Im a little disappointed because my Son's pumpkin patch trip was postponed today because of the rainy weather. I cant take off of work when it is reschduled for but my Hubby is going to try to get off.

Hope your computer is fixed! Otherwise, we'll miss you terribly! :rudolph:

again a night of little sleep. Kandice is coughin again terribly....I feel so sorry for her...that little girl is always, always sick....poor thing

Aww, poor girl. I hope she feels better soon. My babies have colds - AGAIN. Poor Noel is only 7 weeks old and already on cold #2!

Neighbour has gone all out decorating for halloween, will post pictures as soon as I get some new batteries for my camera.

Happy Friday! Our house has a cold - again! My girlfriend brought her kids over on Monday with runny noses and as soon as I saw them, I knew Jude (and now Noel!) would get sick. Ughhh. My husband can't kick this cold, either. I hope he feels better this weekend so we can head out Christmas display hunting! And I reeeeally would love for him to get the living room and foyer painted~! I can't deal with this hideous 1990s floral border another minute, lol!

It's nice and chilly and veryyyy windy today. I am hoping to get caught up on laundry for once!

There's a slight chill in the air, so i've opened all of my office windows. I love that cold breeze with my "Mulled Cider" candle burning!

When our company added an office trailer next to the main office, I was the first to volunteer to move, for just that reason!

Well, no snow :? around here but lots of rain, knocking down all the leaves, I had a feeling we wouldn't see any, it probably came down before the sun came up if there was any. I don't know if I will be back on here before tomorrow night, I will be working all day tomorrow.
