I'm trying to decide whether to buy a Nook (eBook reader). Anybody have one? What do you think of it? I'm thinking it might be a good thing to have on a long plane trip.

@ every one in the US: I am sorry to hear about the terrible incident that happend yesterday. it is horrible that innocent people had to die because a disturbed person got the chance to become this disturbed. I hope the families will receive a lot of support in these hard times!!

This night was really bad, first we saw a person being beat up by a gang of boys beneath our window , so we quickly called the cops, later that night we saw an ambulance, at least 6 police-cars, and lots and lots of policemen fighting with an angry gang of people, it took a lot of time to get the situation under controle... It makes me worried about the youth here in Holland, a couple of years ago, when I went out on saturday nights, it really wasn't like this! It also outlines my worries about this neighbourhood, I think this is really not a good environment to live in... Hope they will do a good job on building our house!!! So we can move asap!!

It is a lovely morning here in the Netherlands. We had a great saturday evening, and today we are having a relaxed day as well... we are probably going out to test my new camera, that should be exciting

Also, here in Holland this week a chemical company, near where my parents live has totally burned out:

We still don't know whether chemicals are in the ground, in our food or in the air here, but I am really worried since it is toally burned down, and there were tocical chemicals stored there... Also, the firedepartement guys are ill already, which is of course a really bad sign....
I hope we will here about the situation of the ground soon, and that those brave men will soon be better...

kerstig.....so far my mom is alright...much braver than I am...she gets examined by the specialist on wednesday so we will know more.

Sorry to hear about Your neighbourhood....some youths are really troubled....and I pray for em that will be guided the right way....I try to understand peoples like this....as my teenagerhood is just 10 years ago.....I know how it is when u feel the world is hating on your just cos your a teenager...how you feel like a rebel every day.....but never in my life would I have done anything that coulda hurt other people ...of course I would have fought to defend myself...but just beat up on somebody because I can or because I want to? Nope......we have had several cases of older men being beaten to death or disabled by 18-19-year old dudes....they should be locked up.....period

Who still has their decorations up??? I refuse to take mine down!! And my LIVE tree is still going strong.. well, not really. I had a dream my house caught on fire because the darn thing is so dry. I just can't bear to take it down!!! It's snowing today and it looks so pretty.. plus more snow on Tuesday... maybe it'll come down in March?

Well today has been a bad day. I took my christmas tree down and my colts just got beat.:sad:

That's because Christmas has a flavor. Try baking Christmas cookies without playing Christmas music---they don't taste the same.

I have several friends that have a Kindle, which I believe works the same as a Nook? They said it's the best thing they ever owned. I see it would be a great investment if you are a big time reader. It's cheaper to purchase books through them verses hard copy books. You might search the net on the difference between Nook and Kindle and see which one is better. Keep us posted if you get one!

good morning my christmas.....I have a prayer request for my mother

she is fighting bronchitis for months now....her doctor got her lungs x-rayed and the found something on it....that doesnt belong...now she has to go to a specialist to get it checked.....I am terrified and she is so strong......please peoples pray for my mother s health....I am a nervous wreck right now

Personally....my Mom has a kindle, my brother has an nook, and I have an ipad. We had all three out at Christmas.....my opinion...the bookstore for the kindle is the best and the nook store is good, but you can buy books from both stores on the ipad. I use kindle on my ipad all the time....and my ipad does soooooo much more than just be a reader....I would buy my ipad 1,000 times over...just my input...

Made, I want you to know that I have become a fan of the Jets....I like the hard nose, blue collar, tough approach they take. I appreciate some bravado from sports teams (not too much). However, last night I was pulling for the Colts just because of you. It was a tough game if you are a die-hard sports fan, but an exciting game, nonetheless. Just a weird season for the Colts....but they surely will rebound next year. Injuries certainly didn't help them. Sorry, friend. Just remember, it could have been worse. At least you are not a Cowboy fan.

Well, everyone, I fell behind early in the week and didn't get caught up til right now. We are wearing it out this year! Great to see...

Christmas officially ended last night around 6:00 at my house. The lights, tree, and decorations are down. I took a shower after it was all done and, when I got out, my wife was listening to Christmas music. She said it was depressing not seeing our Christmas stuff out. But we have over 60 hours of tv shows DVR'd and I told her that this site is the best medicine for Christmas blues. I'm going to get her to join one day!

More NFL playoffs today! A little work...not much. Here is a laugh for my friends up North...weatherman is telling everyone to bunker in starting around 6:00 pm tonight....major snowstorm is coming....we are to expect between 2 and 6 inches....is that major to all of you? Didn't think so...
