Welcome back Brent. Sounds like you had a great weekend!

I just sat down to figure out how many people will be coming for Thanksgiving. If everyone who is supposed to come makes it & if all of their boyfriends/girlfriends come along, we will have 44 people including my hubby & I. We will be missing my brother & his wife & another sil. Our next door neighbor is letting us a borrow a big piece of carpet they have to throw down in our garage along with 2 8' tables & my friend let me borrow her Thanksgiving tree (since she has her CHRISTMAS up now) so we will be opening up our garage for some extra space. I bought some decorations & with the carpet & the tree, hopefully our garage will seem a little cozier!!! We will hook the wii up to our projector in the garage so the kids can go out & play Wii if they want. I'm really looking forward to it. Lots to do before then!!! I don't have time to work this week (at my job) Ha ha ha...

Thank you, Holiday. It was a fun experience. Good luck with setting up your place for the big Thanksgiving celebration. By the looks of it, it will be a great time for everyone!

Just got back from a surprise 11th birthday party for our daughter. She and Nancy have been in Daytona Beach, FL this weekend at Dance Camp. I'm glad they're home (finally!) on her birthday.

It's also our anniversary. Seventeen looonnnnggg...I mean SHORT...years! No time for us, though. They're studying for another crazy Monday test. Oh, well.

I hope y'all have a great evening! cheesy

Happy Anniversary to you and Nancy, Brad. That is fantastic! Happy belated birthday to your daughter, as well. Great that you could all celebrate together.

JOHNOR;398130]hey guys,

i'm back from chicago and i'm totally in love with the place. those midwestern manners were impeccable, the food was great (i've gained about 28lbs in 5 days!!!) the city and the building were breathtaking and it was so child friendly. i just love america and my ambition is to travel some of the bigger cities, i also want to travel canada too. next on my list is boston, seattle, san francisco, new york (been to manhattan and wasn't overly impressed but would like to give it another try) and alaska. a girl can dream!!!

Sounds like a fabulous trip, Johnor! The midwest is so beautiful, and the food is impeccable. Glad you had such a nice time!

some really sad news now... i got a phone call yesterday just as i was about to travel home... my cousin was found dead in bed on wednesday. he was only 41 and has left behind 4 beautiful sons. we are a very close family and as you can imagine we are all devasted. in less than 12 month i have lost my precious grandmother, my precious auntie and now my precious cousin. he has had ill health for a while but it's still a massive shock. please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers, we can't take much more of this truly terrible year. besides all this i still plan on making christmas 2011 the best yet, i'm going to make it the perfect ending to a devastating year and hopefully 2012 will be a great year for my family and i.

So sorry to hear about your cousin. You & your family are in my thoughts and prayers!

Well it is finally OFFICIALLY Christmas Season for me!!

I am watching The Polar Express !! I love this movie and to me the animation is amazing........The snow looks so real it almost makes me cold !!! Also the very first time I saw it was in the movie theatre with my dear sister.

I am getting very excited about putting the tree up Thursday !!! I can't wait !!!! Please say a prayer though, if you could, for DJ. He had his follow up one year PET scan to check and see if he is still Hodgkin's free. The only thing is that a couple months ago he discovered a lump in his breast. The doc does not seem overly concerned about it but I am. He will get the results back on the 22nd.....Any prayers will be so appreciated xo

It is a perfect and magically Christmassy evening....Watching The Polar Express, small fire burning in the fireplace and Wishbone is curled tightly against me sleeping peacefully.......

I wish all a very Christmassy and peaceful evening xo

(((HUGS))) Christmas family xo

Saying prayers that all goes well for DJ. Sending hugs to you & the furbabies! xo

398214]Today we are putting up our outdoor lights! I noticed a neighbor across the way has their Christmas lights up. I was so happy to see that!

I told you all about my 21 year old son surprising me by putting up the Christmas tree. Now my daughter is getting in the Christmas spirit more than I have seen from her in years. She loves Christmas, don't get me wrong, but she just doesn't do it up big like me. She has 3 children and just doesn't seem to be big on Christmas like I was with them when they were little.

Yesterday she was talking to me and said her and her daughter watched 3 Christmas movies and then went onto talk about other stuff. I said, "wait, did you just say you watched 3 Christmas movies"!?!?!? She said, "yes, I was remembering how I watched them with you mom when I was little and wanted to do the same for her".

I also tell her every year to make sure they watch the Thanksgiving Day Parade so the kids can see Santa come by. That always kicks off the Christmas holiday for me when I see Santa in the parade. She turns it on but she goes off and does her own thing. This year she plans to come over and watch the parade with me! We all get to watch Santa together like we did when she was little! I get a little goofy and cheer when I see Santa at the end of the parade. Wayne just laughs but it's ok, I'm having fun! =)

My daughter did thank me last year for making a big deal of Christmas with my grandkids. I have my grandkids talking about Santa all year. =)

I hope everyone enjoys their day!

I bet that made you so happy! That is wonderful. Enjoy watching the parade with your daughter!

I'm leaving out monday for a week for thanksgiving,Brandi is leaving then too to go to Boston to her folks, then we will both be back next sunday. I spoke with my mom and dad,I actually understood alot of what he was saying yestersay they told him that his estimated disharge date was decemeber 3rd which is great,I was terrified he would be in there at Christmas! He kind of mumbles when he talks but he is doing alot better than he was 2 weeks ago! Have a great day everyone!

Glad to hear your Dad is improving so well, I will continue to say prayers for him & your Mom. Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving with your family!

Meceka;398428]Good morning, Christmas family!

I hope this finds everyone and their families doing well!

CM3: I feel the same way - maybe it is a midwest thing as there is no snow on the ground or in the forecast. Big, big hugs to you, my dear friend, and Wish and the rest of your fur family! ((((HUGS))))

Kimothy: have a fun holiday!

Anne: ((((HUGS)))) for you and your mom. I think she was right about the rose!!!

Shellie: I am so sorry about your neighbor. I hope you have a good day! ((((HUGS))))

I am going to spend the day puttering - do a bit of work, read, cook pasta and bake some cookie bars, play with the cats and just relax as this week is shaping up to be even more hectic than last week. I have the She and Him Christmas and I am going to give it a listen, too.

Have a MERRY day!!!!!!!!!!

*How was the She & Him Christmas CD? I love Zooey Deschanel! Hope you're doing well, Meceka :)*

Christmas-A-Holic;398439]I am so excited about Thanksgiving! I feel slightly overwhelmed and stressed too. So not like me!!! I WANT to do it all, cooking, baking, cleaning, preparing, etc. No one is expecting me to do it all. If I up and decided to go to a cafeteria it's fine with everyone or if I wanted everyone to help that is fine with them too. In the past I did it all with no problems. The ONLY reason I feel a little stressed is I have been SO DANG TIRED and I am a little behind getting things done. I try to get things done then find myself sitting down to rest (a little more than usual). Please don't take this as me being whiny, I am actually in a fantastic mood and I am not in a cranky mood!!! Just been tired is all and struggling to get things done.

Now the good news!! I have recruited some help so all will be good. Wayne will be helping me and he is happy to do so, my daughter will come over the day before to help cook. I will have a few things for my son to do too. My full time job is babysitting the grandkids while my daughter and son-in-law work so my mom will be helping me with them this week and my son-in-law offered for one of his family members to keep them for the day if I need them. They mention many times about hiring daycare if I need it but I don't mind watching them, it's just a little hard this week is all.

I am in a very good mood about Thanksgiving and super excited! The only drawback is I have been exhausted. Nothing more than that. IT WILL be a great day!

Hope you're feeling better, CAH~ It's very nice that you have such a great support system around to pitch in & help. Enjoy your Thanksgiving, it sounds like it will be fabulous!

vsuclaribnl;398510]Hello everyone!

I am happy to say that I am feeling a bit better than I was Thursday. I'm still a little on edge because Black Friday is just a few days away and I want to get it over with!!! It's going to be a very long week starting tomorrow but I'm hoping to get through it with minimal damage. Then DF will FINALLY let me put up Christmas decorations and THAT should make everything better!!! =D

Another thing other than work that was bothering me is now DF and I have no Thanksgiving plans. I think I had mentioned here that his family was moving their celebration up to 11am so I would be able to partake...well about a week and a half ago, they decided to go to the Viking Club dinner, which starts at 1, and not say anything to the two of us. I go back and forth between being very upset and understanding why they made the decision, but why couldn't they have told us they were changing plans when they actually changed them? Why tell us a week later? But...the end result is now we have nothing to do...which I guess I'm okay with, as it will give me time to rest before the craziness that is Black Friday. But on the other hand, I am still a little irked. =(

I completely understand, I would probably feel the same way. Hope this week goes well for you. Just think, Black Friday will be over in 5 days, then you can decorate! Woohoo!

I was also still feeling down on Friday, so I ended up skipping out on a friend's surprise 40th birthday. I know his wife (a very good friend of mine) was probably upset with me, but I just couldn't go. I know I would've been a buzzkill and DF had a bad day Friday too, so I plan on making it up to them. I still feel bad though!

But there is some good news amidst all this boo-hiss crap, I promise! I went dress shopping on Friday and I think I have found THE DRESS!!! It was one I had tried on before...it wasn't my mom's favorite and she is still not on board, but I had tears in my eyes at one point, so...yes, I think it is the one! I'm bringing my mom back with me sometime either next weekend or the next week to have her see me all blinged out and hopefully change her mind. But she still wants to see me in some more dresses, so we'll see how that goes. The dress I like is here: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product...d-Lace-WG3121_Bridal-Gowns-Features-All-Gowns

WOW, this is so beautiful!! I love the beading & embellishments! You're going to be such a gorgeous bride!

I also hung out with my parents the other night and we shopped for my "niece"' s first birthday party, which was yesterday. We had such a great time together that night and at the party last night. It really helped bring me out of the funk and I felt stress-free for the first time in nearly two weeks. =)

Today DF and I are hanging out with our best friends, hopefully eating some Mexican and watching football. Another day to be stress-free before heading back to both jobs tomorrow!!!

Just wish I could get Sangria out of turbo-kitty mode before we left! lol

Hope all of you are having a great weekend, and thanks again for all of the support the last few days!!! <3

Christmasstar;398581]thank you for sharing that, I have had the same problem. I know the source of mine, lack of work and income and wondering how I will afford to get the things I would like to get for Christmas. Thankfully I have been collecting all year long so already have a good chuck of the gifts. I want to do baking for the extended family. Here's hoping I win the gingerbread contest with a first prize of $200!
Here is a big hug for you to help you feel better, I know I feel better just passing it on!

Thinking of you too, Christmasstar~ Sending hugs your way!!

sugar142286;398599]Hi all! I'm just checking in for the day. I'm almost caught up on the countdown. I'm at the end of yesterdays posts, but I've got to go take a nap now because I work again tonight. At this time of the year, it's so hard to keep up with the countdown, which you all know. I do love it though!

Nothing new to report. I hope you're all doing well. For anyone who is sick or need prayers, I'm sending them you're way.

I will talk to you all sometime tomorrow! Have a great evening!

Oh and I just watched "The Dog Named Christmas" on Hallmark. Talk about a tearjerker! I loved it!

Hi sugar! Hope you & your family are doing well! I was also watching A Dog Named Christmas. Love that movie! I was crying my eyes out. Such a beautiful story.

Kimothy;398610]Hi All! Today has been great!

My uncle stopped by and blabbed a secret for Thanksgiving--HA!

Then I went to church with my parents (a parish I've been attending since I was five years old) and afterwards, went to one of my favoritest restaurants, Sweet Tomatoes (Souplantation is another name for it). After a yummy buffett meal, my folks and I went grocery shopping.

I love Sweet Tomatoes!!

Since I never got a chance to recover from yesterday or this morning, I then took a much needed two hour nap.

Dinner was leftover pizza from yesterday (YUM!) and my first sister (turning 28 in a few hours) is now visiting and we're all just chatting away.

Tomorrow is the YMCA, a dentist appointment, visiting former co-workers and then celebrating my sister's birthday. Whew!

Enjoy the time with your family, Kimothy!!

made582;398637]Well it looks like QVC is pretty much done with the christmas decorating shows. There is only 1 scheduled for this week and it is on at 4am next saturday morning.

Now I'm going to take some Nyquil and head to bed. Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!

Hope you're feeling better, made!

Thank God for Nyquil. It has gotten me through this past week!

Good Monday morning to you, Christmas friends!

I hope this finds you well~

I have been MIA since Friday. My cold got the best of me, and I was in bed resting most of the weekend. My hubby had the laptop with him. I finally just got caught up here!

Thank God for Nyquil and the Hallmark channel!

I got the second half of my Christmas cards done yesterday. Very happy about that, put them in the mailbox on my way back to work this morning! I got my first few last week! So exciting, they were lovely.

The Packers are still on a hot streak! It was a close game ysterday against the Bucs, but we pulled it off. Let's see how long we can remain undefeated. Hubby was happy that his Bears won, too.

Is everyone ready for turkey day? I have to make one more stop to the grocery store, and we'll be all set. We are having a neighbor friend over whose wife recently passed away, and whose kids are out of state. And a few friends too. It should be nice and quiet. We'll watch football, eat & relax, and maybe play a few games after.

One of our local radio stations just switched over to all Christmas music this morning....WOOHOO!!!!!!!! Very excited about that!

Well, just wanted to check back in. Sending wishes for a jolly day to you all!

:tree:

.....BINGER and CROWN.......You two crack me up !! What a team you two make !!! Truth is I LOVE coffee but I also LOVE tea !!! I do tend to use Coffee more for the caffeine....Sorry Crown.....
Hey.
Anyone who loves tea can't be all bad.

And there's always hope you'll one day see the light and become a tea-totaler!

Well my grocery shopping is done. I don't know what manager decided to reset the whole freezer section during the week of thanksgiving but they need to be busted back down to a stocker. Now I am off to dice up celery and onion for my stuffing and macaroni salad.

Caninemom - yes, I agree...this warm weather is crazy!! I know there are years we have a warm Thanksgiving b/c I always say - this doesn't feel like I should be putting up a Chrsitmas tree!! I'm sure the cold weather is on it's way soon!!!

I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys: The TSO Concert Thursday night! It was AWESOME, FUN, WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC, blew me away again! It can be Christmas now! I'm ready for next years show!

You could also do a turkey breast if you still want turkey or You can always join my family if you want to drive 500 miles.

Tony Stewart won the championship and Kenseth ended up 4th in points.

Aw thanks for the offer made but I think that might be a little far to drive! lol I appreciate it though!!!

Sending ((HUGS)) including Snowflake, Sugar, Shellie21, Meceka, Christmasstar, CAH, SIT, Binger, Crown, Made, Xmas, MerryMistletoe, Holiday, Brent, Coach, Lauriebear and ALL my MMC Christmas family as well as furkids including, of course, Ella, Harlowe, Scooby, Sasha, Snickers and all whose names I don't know !!

Guys and Gals,

Listen to the description of this morning and tell me it isn't perfect....

Cooking for Thanksgiving
Reading our local newspaper for Black Friday ads
Drinking coffee
Eating homemade blueberry breakfast bar
Reading the Countdown

Tell me that isn't awesome!

Ah, I love this week....just love it!

Sounds very awesome to me. A matter of fact, I am jealous!

Hello, everyone---count me in with those who need some extra energy.

these are pictures my daughter took on her cell phone of the front of the church with some of the operation Christmas Child boxes already collected. We are expecting some more to come in tomorrow, so hopefully on Tuesday I will have a final count.

Great pics, Star! It looks like you guys are doing a great job!

Hello everyone!

I am happy to say that I am feeling a bit better than I was Thursday.

Glad to hear that you're feeling better, V!

Another thing other than work that was bothering me is now DF and I have no Thanksgiving plans.

So sorry about your Thanksgiving plans. At least you and DF will have each other. I will be thinking about on that day.

But there is some good news amidst all this boo-hiss crap, I promise! I went dress shopping on Friday and I think I have found THE DRESS!!! Still slowly getting caught up on the posts. Going to get something for dinner. DH is working night shift tonight, so I've gotta get the kids dinner, baths, and bed. I should be back on before I've gotta nap and get ready for work myself. If not, you all have a great evening. I'm off tomorrow, finally!

Hope you're all having a great evening and like I said, hope I'll be able to check back in!

Same here with energy but sounds like you have a more valid reason for your fatigue. Surgery can take a lot out of you and take awhile to recover from. I hope you feel better soon!
If only those energy bars and drinks really worked for me but they don't! Maybe since Einstein is promoting this one it should work! =)

Now go out and buy a small turkey and all the trimmings and have a fantastic time with just the two of you!
Have the most decadent dessert you can find and relax until you have to go to work.

I agree with Star, V!

keep them in your prayers please.

They're in my prayers!

I have always thought that the Wednesday evening before thanksgiving is one of the most exciting times of the year.

I agree! It's so exciting!

Just a quick hello, Christmas family. Like CAH, I am totally drained of energy. I will be glad when I am in top condition and feel like doing something! Hope all of the rest of you have a great day. TTYL.

thank you for sharing that, I have had the same problem.

Saying prayers that all goes well with the contest!

I'm hoping this workweek goes fast, but it sounds like it may be busy, so I may not get out very early Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed. I hope everyone else has a nice, easy week leading up to Thanksgiving.

Yes, I'm reading and answering using the Fire now! It's a little hard to type much, but it works!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Try to have a great week. My Nook was to arrive today, now they're saying tomorrow. I'm excitied!

I love Thangsiving coffee...

YEPPER! YABBA!

I just love coffee period!

Coach- Wow!!! That's how a championship should be decided.

No wins for Jr. but at least he finished 7th in points and gets to go to the Banquet this year.

Yes, it's about time Jr. does decent!

I am also saying a quick goodnight. I am trying to conserve energy. Another bout of physical therapy tomorrow and Wednesday. Then I can hopefully rest. TTYL>

How has therapy been going for you!

Oh, well.

Happy Birthday to your daughter and Happy Anniversary to you and Nancy!

We caught part of a movie on ABC Family today, in between football games! I can't remember the title, but it was the second movie in a series and had Jenny McCarthy in it. The guys made fun (ugh) but my girl friend and I loved it! <3

You were watching Santa Baby 2 - I love that one as well!

Ahhhh, one more thing...hope this is allowed here...if it isn't, I apologize!

I finally finished DF's and my wedding website, and thought I would post it here for anyone who'd want to check it out! Feel free to comment in our guest book, it is lonely! We don't have any pictures in the photo album yet, but there are some scattered around on the site. Hope you guys enjoy it!!
